  1. Is this the summer league thread?
  2. From what I'm reading you either have to watch it live on your provider or wait until next day to watch on Hulu. Anyone know otherwise?

    Gym Pet Peeves

I am considering Karening to the gym management. My gym is a big chain gym (The Edge, not sure if in TX). It's nice, I like it. It's very close to my house and strikes the right mix of real gym vs Planet Fitness vs. Meathead circuit. Their top membership tier allows you to bring a guest for free as long as you sign them in. My oldest has been trying to get into working out. I've taken him with me occasionally. He is 13, the minimum age for a guest. Of course when I bring him, he works out with me, I show him form and technique, etc. I have been seeing fucking 7 and 8 year old looking kids roaming free in the gym trying to use equipment. No clue who their parents and grandparents are. Today there were some brothers roaming free, independent of each other, one probably 8 and the other maybe 10. It annoys me. I don't want a kid to get hurt, I don't want my gym to get sued and have to close, I don't want to find myself in a position of wanting to use the lat pulldown machine but I can't because there is an 8 year old playing on it. And fuck those parents, this isn't a kiddie club. In fact the gym has a Kids club where staff will play basketball or do fake exercises and stuff with the kids. Maybe I'm just being old.
  4. No worries bro thanks for remembering. Just gotta remind someone that T Swift tickets cost more than $250... This is so shameful. We should be ashamed. Every one of us.
  5. I didn't want to get spoilered so I hadn't ventured in here until I finished. Not much more to add on the characters and episodes. Wonderful season of television. I caught the buzz about Fishes on Twitter good and bad so I couldn't wait to see what it was all about and it did not disappoint in any way. I did like Forks better. It's funny to see myself getting so into a culinary show because I have zero interest in that in real life in terms of fine dining. I would eat that steak that Tina was serving up but not much else. The one thing I will add because it hasn't been said yet. I get that he's a Chicago guy but they could have picked a better icon for inspiration than that smarmy pig-faced fucker Coach K. Also I did see that Eater Chicago was quite offended at the treatment they gave Pequod's which is hilarious. Not to mention the logistics of Richie "running out" to Lincoln Park to pick up a Chicago pie and being back in 15 minutes.
  6. I find the app pretty unusable. I said I wouldn't sign up but I lied, I did because it was so easy with my IG account. The algorithm is terrible. I don't even understand it. Is it that fucking hard for someone, anyone to create an app where you actually only see content from people that you follow and only see it in chronological order of when they post it/retweet/reply? Oh and hopefully it isn't run by a nazi. As a test when the Nassar stabbing news hit the other morning I went on threads to see if any of the hundreds of MSU or sports or news related accounts I followed would show up on my timeline. Not a single thing. But I did see some unrelated posts from Joy Taylor talks, Pink and Bollywoodsociety.
  7. What started as a question I was going to pose to you ended up with me $229 poorer and a Clear member. Thanks a lot Rachel.
  8. Verbatim exactly what I said when I read it earlier.
  9. Call me crazy but I think that's a malamute mix not a husky. I had a Malamute - it's something about the face. Good looking mutt, hope you find a home for her.
  10. I'm not sure what you mean by 4 would be tight, are you using the Kamado regardless? Sorry it has been a long week. In your situation I would personally 100% put them on Saturday night probably around 8 or 9 to be safe assuming 8-10 lbs each. I would cook at 230-275 and plan on them being done in 10-12 hours, max. I would drink heavily if I were 10 years younger and sleep well. Wrap when done in the morning and pull before leaving or serving. If you only smoke them for 5-6 hours and then put in an oven at 170 they won't get done. If you do that put them in the oven at 200. They will not dry out or get over done.
  11. Also fwiw I like wrapping them in 2x HD foil for awhile and a towel so they continue to cook. By the time you unwrap, do that into a foil pan and you will have a good amount of juice. I understand you don't want to pull onsite but in your situation I might plan to have them "done" on the smoker about 4-6 hours before I was going to pull them. But honestly those things are so hard to fuck up you're going to be good to go.
  12. What are you cooking on? Something you have to tend all night? Even on my trailer I think I would just start them the night before and I would have a spare charcoal basket ready to swap out in the middle of the night when my initial fuel burns out and temps dip below 200.
  13. When I was in HS I drove a POS 89 Sunbird. There was a main road on the route to school with a posted 25 mph speed limit that was notorious for hiding cops, radar guns at the ready. We were always very careful not to speed there. One day on the way home a woman was tailgating me. She was probably mid 20s, I could see that intense resting bitch face look on her face in the rear view mirror. At some point I just lost my temper and slammed on the brakes. She plowed right into my bumper. I wasn't sure what to do so I just started back up driving. The look on her face and her hand motions in the rear view mirror was absolutely priceless and I will chuckle about it until the day I die. I didn't care if there was any damage to my bumper, but there wasn't a scratch.
  14. Fuck threads and their bullshit timeline and sponsored posts. IGs feed algorithms suck. Also fuck their spying. Lesser of two evils maybe but I'm not signing up. Anyone have a Blue Sky invite?
  15. If they could do it indoors during Covid with the counters wearing hazmat suits a little lightning should be a breeze.
  16. Men's contest cancelled. I better get my wagers refunded FanDuel.
  17. Killing third party APIs almost had me out. Until I discovered tweetdeck. Price is right horn. Someone hurry up and invent something usable.
  18. Then again sometimes those cleaning fees are necessary. Here is the bedroom my 13 year old slept in on Sunday morning at our house rental in Gatlinburg after gorging on pizza and Waffle House all weekend. Do not click. I warned you.
  19. Same. Always use them or VRBO unless I'm traveling solo for work. In general fuck hotels. I have discovered that with a little bit of creative googling you can often times locate the property management company's website and book through them for cheaper and better perks (access to clubhouse, pool etc). Be careful, though. Sometimes the property management company's cancellation policy can be more restrictive.
  20. I have not but it is my dream to one day attend. Joey Chestnut is a great patriot and hero.
  21. I can't believe what just happened. Out of a fucking Seinfeld episode or something. I took my son and my nephews to Gatlinburg. Our rental is on the side of a mountain. Extremely steep. My nephew (16) has some kind of toe infection. My sister has been on me like no other about making sure he takes his script antibiotics 3x per day. I was texting her some pictures, she asked of course about the meds. I reminded him to take his last dose of the day. They are in the hot tub. The hot tub is located on the "ground" floor on the patio. I am in the kitchen and living room above. There is a patio on this level. It's maybe 9 feet from the balcony railing to where he is. He says drop it to me. I survey the situation. The hot tub is enclosed on 3 sides with floor to patio above patio slats. The open side/entry of the hot tub is not exposed to any area with a regular/low railing for 2 feet. I decided I could put the meds in a Ziploc in case he dropped it and it would float and be fine. I dropped it. Right into his hands. In the hot tub. Bounced off of his hands, and 5 feet diagonally to the left, over the railing and down the mountain. It has been an hour and I am still in disbelief. Photos from earlier for reference. Un fucking real. The photos could not illustrate how unlikely this was any better.
  22. Received. Thanks.
  23. +1 on Chong Li but no love for Tong Po??? Also where is @Brad Wesley
  24. Opened this thread and it landed on this post by Mr. Smarty Pants who now checks his driveway with a magnetic sweeper every time a contractor leaves and is $440 poorer.
