  1. Killing third party APIs almost had me out. Until I discovered tweetdeck. Price is right horn. Someone hurry up and invent something usable.
  2. Then again sometimes those cleaning fees are necessary. Here is the bedroom my 13 year old slept in on Sunday morning at our house rental in Gatlinburg after gorging on pizza and Waffle House all weekend. Do not click. I warned you.
  3. Same. Always use them or VRBO unless I'm traveling solo for work. In general fuck hotels. I have discovered that with a little bit of creative googling you can often times locate the property management company's website and book through them for cheaper and better perks (access to clubhouse, pool etc). Be careful, though. Sometimes the property management company's cancellation policy can be more restrictive.
  4. I have not but it is my dream to one day attend. Joey Chestnut is a great patriot and hero.
  5. I can't believe what just happened. Out of a fucking Seinfeld episode or something. I took my son and my nephews to Gatlinburg. Our rental is on the side of a mountain. Extremely steep. My nephew (16) has some kind of toe infection. My sister has been on me like no other about making sure he takes his script antibiotics 3x per day. I was texting her some pictures, she asked of course about the meds. I reminded him to take his last dose of the day. They are in the hot tub. The hot tub is located on the "ground" floor on the patio. I am in the kitchen and living room above. There is a patio on this level. It's maybe 9 feet from the balcony railing to where he is. He says drop it to me. I survey the situation. The hot tub is enclosed on 3 sides with floor to patio above patio slats. The open side/entry of the hot tub is not exposed to any area with a regular/low railing for 2 feet. I decided I could put the meds in a Ziploc in case he dropped it and it would float and be fine. I dropped it. Right into his hands. In the hot tub. Bounced off of his hands, and 5 feet diagonally to the left, over the railing and down the mountain. It has been an hour and I am still in disbelief. Photos from earlier for reference. Un fucking real. The photos could not illustrate how unlikely this was any better.
  6. Received. Thanks.
  7. +1 on Chong Li but no love for Tong Po??? Also where is @Brad Wesley
  8. Opened this thread and it landed on this post by Mr. Smarty Pants who now checks his driveway with a magnetic sweeper every time a contractor leaves and is $440 poorer.
  9. Dan Flashes himself spotted at the airport retrieving his luggage. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CttsURJthbo/?igshid=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng==
  10. Zepol I don't think we have any dermatologists here. Carry on with my Cantharone + torture.
  11. Finished it last night, little sad to be done with it. I saw a description somewhere that it was the perfect blend of sweet and stupid. I think that's a good summary. It seems like it is getting a lot of love so that probably bodes well for there being a Season 2.
  12. Please shoot me a PM if so. Thanks. Disclaimer: does not involve a shirtless photo of my boss and a mole
  13. Spoken like someone who has never had Cinnamon Twists dipped in Reduced-fat sour cream mixed with Diablo sauce.
  14. There's a local-ish Mexican place that serves a secret 'martajada' salsa that I fell in love with a few years ago. I spent months trying to perfect it and got pretty close. It's a little bit sour, relies heavily on tomatillos. And of course I made mine much hotter. Very good stuff. Here's the recipe: About 6 roma tomatoes Tomatillos (you want the volume of the romas:tomatillos to be about 2.5:1 or 3:1) About 1/4 of a big ass red onion A couple of small garlic cloves (or one big one) 2-4 serrano peppers (depending on how much heat you like) 1/2 - 1 orange habanero (depending on how much heat you like) 1 lime Salt Grill all of it, but the lime and the salt. Get it black. Get it to the point where you will be able to smash it without a blender. mortar and pestle. Add juice of lime. Add about 1 tbsp of salt. Or less or more. Stir. Pour in blender. Pulse. Just 2-3x. Don't want it too thin. Pour in bowl/pitcher. Chill for a few hours. Mix.
  15. Watching a little each night. Little Buff Boys and Dan Flashes had me cracking up.
  16. It's so cringe. I didn't think the proposal garden/wrestling landed at all. But what really bothers me is the stupid endings. Like some of them really hit and are funny and then they just go wild to end the sketch. I thought the guy that talks about his kids too much one was hilarious but then the veer to end it with TR's kid killing a gorilla.
  17. I'm definitely taking her entry fee out of that shit. She picked the Knicks because Luke from the show Jessie is a Knicks fan in the show. She picked the Celtics to get to the Finals because her cousin/my niece's best friend goes to BC. She picked the "Nuggies" to get to the Finals because my wife's best friend lives in Denver. 18. Another show I guess I missed the thread on because search turns up nothing. Good lord how consistently uncomfortable this show makes me. Tim Robinson is unique.
  19. Congrats @Chewbacca and all Nuggets fans. I hate that the season is over. Hopefully we can get some Drew League on TV. And honestly I'm tapping in to the W. Fuck the haters.
  20. A coupe of other things that might be worth checking out if you are just strolling downtown on or around the Mag Mile - the Bloomingdales mall across Michigan Ave from the Hancock is pretty cool, and the Macy's department store on State Street is fairly mind blowing. We were there around Christmas so everything was all done up but it would still be cool to see any time of year. 10 story department store with a balcony all the way around. Very old school. Full on candy shop and bookstore in the basement. Food court on the top story and you can look all the way down to the ground floor.
  21. Is Hancock tower covered by City Pass? I know they have Tilt and some other cool stuff at the observation level but FYI the lounge on the 96th is free entry and kinda fancy but kid friendly. You can get some fun mocktails and stuff. If you get there a half hour before it opens up you will have your pick of seating.
  22. Definitely rent a stroller and in July consider leaving the park to go get lunch. Especially those where you don't have to traverse a lagoon to get to your car. Or Uber. You don't want to be wandering around the park in the middle of the day in July with an 8 and a 4 year old. The day you have the hotel utilize that for a midday nap/swim break. Go early, leave when it gets miserably hot, come back early evening and stay until close imo. Good luck, if you plan properly everyone will have a good time, adults included.
  23. Check in bro. Let us know you are doing ok.
  24. I did an Alaska cruise with my wife pre kids (08 maybe) on Princess. We were the only people on the boat under 114 years old.
  25. Uncle Rollie: That's why I got a tattoo of Lady Justice Primo: Is that Halle Berry? Uncle Rollie: Yeah you see at one time she was married to David Justice 😂 This is a good show. It's not next level humor but the characters are all relatable and funny... And I think Drea is hot. It surprises me that I laugh out loud a couple times per episode for a pretty benign sitcom.
