That's right, my bad.

RE: Bitterwhiteguy - Solid rant.
For the most part, I agree that first 4 years of Shaka is about equal to last 4 years of Barnes. People are forgetting how terrible and frustrating we were the last few years of his tenure. The Barnes we had at the end is not the Barnes at Tennessee now.
This team is frustrating because we are SO CLOSE to being good. We are competitive in every single game. Our losses are so winnable:
- 10 pts to #2 Michigan State
- 3 pts to #106 Radford (bad loss but close)
- 1 pt to #59 VCU (another bad close loss)
- 3 pts at #91 OSU (another bad close loss)
- 6 pts at #22 Tech (painful close road loss to fringe elite team)
- 2 pts at #8 KU (painful close road loss to elite team)
- 4 pts at #26 TCU (painful close road loss to likely tourney team)
And then we go out and beat teams like #9 UNC, #14 Purdue, #20 K-State (road), #21 OU sometimes in dominating fashion. We also are recruiting extremely well.
My displeasure is also compounded by the fact that a lot of our mistakes seem easily fixable. We play STUPID. We also don't play to our strengths. I honestly feel like I could do a better job, which is a crazy statement for a guy being paid like Shaka.

There are 100 ways to get better nutrition than the McDouble for cheaper. For example, from HEB I can get:
- 3 eggs (hardboiled) = 234 cal, 18 g protein, 1.5 g carbs, 15 g fat = $0.45
- 8 oz milk = 148 cal, 8 g protein, 12 g carbs, 8 g fat = $0.14
- 2 slices whole wheat toast = 120 cal, 6 g protein, 22 g carbs, 2 g fat = $0.17
- -----------------------------------------------------
- Total = 502 cal, 36 g protein, 36 g carbs, 25 g fat = $0.76

2015: I would have picked Brooklyn even though I loved The Revenant and Mad Max
2014: Grand Budapest over Birdman
2009: Inglorious Basterds over The Hurt Locker. IB is one of my all time favorite Tarantino films.
2002: Gangs of New York over Chicago
Chicago is ass.

Shooting 50 3s a game is a lot more fun when they are going in.

Tech should have money whipped Holgerson. He is much better than the guy they got and would have stayed there for years.

I think Kobe had a lot of the same ultra competitive traits as MJ. If you took Kobe's spirit and put it with LeBrons athleticism and skill you would probably have the goat.

Also, last year the Wizards were 20-20 without Wall and only 23-19 with him. So if they are better with him, it isn't by much.
-
Well, Wall has a +/- this year of -6.3 vs. -4.8 the Wizards with him off the court. This year, they are also 3-2 in games Wall didn't play vs. 11-21 with him playing.
-
Well, except they are actually better without Wall and may make a run now.

Broke into the Balcones Blue Corn tonight. Really good. Lots of hot cinnamon and pecan pie. Also about as dark a bourbon as I have ever seen.

Obligatory I'm a man, I'm 40+.That Blue Corn Cask Strength is a man’s drink. Good stuff, but, whoo!...watch out!- 1

I like the 1910, maybe better than the 1920. Reminds me of a S'more. Burned sugar to the max.

Merry Christmas to me. Nice haul the last few days...
Looking forward to trying the Balcones Blue Corn cask strength. Any opinions?
Had the 1910 last night. Really like it.- 3

It's funny how good coaches always seem to have talent and cohesion and bad coaches always seem to have ill-fitting pieces and weak talent. A great coach will teach the players to be in better position and make better decisions, which will make them look more talented.
We have more talent than 95% of the other programs. We are doing our players and the school an injustice by not giving them proper coaching.- 2

I've been to a fair number of beaches, from Mexico, Carribean, Hawaii, Philippines, all over the US.... My favorite of all of these has been Flamingo Beach in Costa Rica. Perfect water temp, perfect waves for playing in and hardly anybody there.
Buddy of mine spent a week there over Thanksgiving and sent me these pics: -
Roach has gotten better, he is just way too inconsistent. He was amazing in the UNC game and played one of the best all-around games I have ever seen from a UT player.
Coleman and Sims have both regressed. I had high hopes from Sims, but he hasn't improved AT ALL. I mean he had 0 pts and 1 board against Providence. C'mon man. Damn.
And all of these losses are coming at home. Where is our freaking pride? We are definitely more talented than the teams that are beating us.
If Shaka wants to keep his job, he better resurrect Havok stat. -

Hiring this guy wasn't.... Smart.

Looking at it again makes me ragey. Hate the lack of symmetry. One side is steep as it should be. Other side of the court has a stupid shallow grade. It will look so dated in 10 years.
That design is bad and the designer should feel bad. And the regents should also feel bad for approving this POS. -
Mind the gap.

This looks like ass.

Obviously we have the potential to be a top 10 program. We recruit like one already.
Barnes set the bar high as far as results go. No doubt. But he was fired for a reason. The last 3-4 years were no fun at all and there is no reason to believe he would have ever gotten back to the peak that he established.
