  1. Fucking hell.. somehow the dems are gonnna fuck this up again. brb, gotta go donate to Bernie again.
  2. Pete/Pence VP debate would be very colorful.
  3. They have the same symptoms!
  4. I get this, 'cause I had a similar concern w/ Liz telling people taxes would go up to pay for M4A. It may not have mattered that their overall costs would go down, the "She'll increase your taxes!!" button would've been pushed over and over, in ad after ad. With Bernie, I think he'll do a good job owning the label. His demeanor won't change. He won't stutter. He'll calmly explain what it means to be a democratic socialist and he'll provide context. And I really hope he asks trump point blank at the first debate, "Donald, what is the definition of socialism." Then he can immediately hit him with the farm bailouts.
  5. In a Sanders presidency, the majority (bipartisan) vote against MFA is an absolute certainty. The question is how big of a movement do those corrupted votes elicit in response. I ultimately think it won't matter as the pull of corporate greed is too strong amongst too many politicians. Marching in your streets and calling your state reps will only serve to make them become hermits. They'll still vote to preserve the massive healthcare machine as-is. But the key question IMO is how many old guard dems are challenged by the future AOCs and Ro Khana's of the world. And how much awareness do the marches in the streets raise among the general population so that they will actually vote out these corporate dems.
  6. Maher is hit and miss, but this is spot on.

  8. lol one of the comments... "I'm not convinced that Eric's father isn't Gary Busey."
  9. Anand rules. http://www.msnbc.com/morning-joe/watch/is-bernie-sanders-electable-78226501865
  10. I very much believe this will happen and I also think that plutocrats will funnel absurd amounts of money into trump's campaign to wage an amplified fake news war on social media. Having said that, Bernie wins easily if young people vote because most of them at least can recognize bullshit on FB when they see it.
  11. I know we're all thinking it, but nobody is going to say it. So I will. Klobuchar is too ugly to be President. There.
  12. Why is physics in quotes? Does physics not explain how CO2 in the atmosphere traps heat and causes temperatures to rise? Or is that fake physics? Is your assertion that this energy absorbed into your super fancy "complex system" somehow avoids following the rules of physics and *doesn't* cause temperatures to rise? How can it take you 5 minutes to cook your grits when it takes the entire grit-eating world 20 minutes? So lets say the CO2 never *initiates* global temperature rise. We'll agree that those rises in temp are caused by orbital forcing (I don't know if that's completely true). The fact remains that warmer oceans release more CO2 into the atmosphere (there's that pesky physics again). And that causes further warming. Who gives a shit what started it? If us humans are pumping in greenhouse gases that are amplifying the warming that was initiated by something other than CO2, maybe we should figure out how to stop pumping so much shit into the atmosphere. Why does it matter that lighter fluid doesn't actually strike the match and produce the flame? If the forest floor has lit matches scattered around, it's always a bad idea to go around throwing half-empty bottles of lighter fluid into said forest.
  13. He's distracting too. Looks like a fat Peter Griffin.
  14. Does Gym own a tie in a color other than yellow? He's like the Dwight Schrute of Congress.
  15. You sure, bruh??
  16. Seconded. Weathered Souls has awesome stouts on occasion. Also hear really good things about Islla Street, but I've yet to try it. Freetail is above average beer w/ above average pizza and a lot of TVs.
  17. Curious about this as well. We have saltillo, so I can't imagine the havoc of trying to get all the mortar/grout off the concrete without dustless equipment.
  18. I'm curious as to what calling the bluff would look like. More unions? I agree on salary changes - I've long thought that my field (engineering) has been artificially inflated over the last 10 years or so. Never thought I would sniff 100k without a senior PM level title, but there are several co-workers w/ my experience level in the ~110-125k range. So if Liz gets the nom, I'll have to sell my summer house in the Hamptons after all...
  19. If I had to guess, I'd say this is exactly what would happen. Like, the day after she becomes the nominee. Corporate board members would immediately assemble and put together packages to release a certain percentage of employees as contractors with the only alternative being they get laid off completely. But if she somehow gets her numbers right and indeed passes this thing, it has to be considered next-level type legislative brilliance.
  20. Is there a better example of Dunning-Kruger on this board? I can't think of one...
  21. yep. Trump may have dictated that entire statement, so it's probably closer to a 4th grade writing level. https://www.newsweek.com/trump-fire-and-fury-smart-genius-obama-774169
  22. Take FWIW, but even a fox poll has Bernie beating trump. Not that polls are really trustworthy (link shows Biden beating him handily and I think trump would look like the stronger candidate in a debate), but I think Bernie brings back the voters who voted Obama and switched to trump. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_sanders-6250.html
