I've seen it 3 times.  They cycle through acts, so there will be ones you haven't seen.  The Gazillionaire comedy is pretty much the same though.

That's fine. I'll be drunk. I'll laugh and be entertained I'm sure. With my shitty gambling luck, the $200 ticket for 75 minutes of entertainment is a bargain.

My verde and black home jersey is a great conversation starter around town. Old white dudes, teenage kids, cute little Mexican chicks, baggers at the grocery store, all feel compelled to comment. I'm also impressed that they seem to be watching the games based on comments. This city is definitely fired up about the new team and new stadium. Hoping they can have a successful enough season to keep the interest going beyond the first season. I think that starting the season with all of these road games may have actually been a blessing in disguise - upped the interest as everyone has been watching the games on TV and the interest is just building and building towards the home opener. Gonna be a rowdy scene.

  3. Heading out the first weekend in June, staying in a comped room at Palazzo. People who gamble like me (couple thousand gambling bankroll max for the weekend) don't normally get comped rooms at places like Palazzo, so that tells you something about the clientele situation in Vegas right now. Expecting a bit of a shit show, given everything I've been hearing including the previous trip report. I've booked our group dinners at Mon Ami Gabi, Carbone and Momofuku, breakfast at Bouchon one morning and we have a pool cabana booked one day where we'll just eat breakfast and lunch at the pool. Gonna see Absinthe, second time for us but some in our group haven't see it yet.

If anyone has any cool new bar or restaurant recommendations, I'm listening. It's been a couple years.

It doesn't appear that Saturday's game against LA Galaxy is going to be televised in English.  Anyone have any experience with watching a game via @TUDNUSA?  If it's on my Univision channel, I probably watch it in Spanish.  Otherwise, I guess the Austin FC app or website.

    English Language:

    Watch: @TUDNUSA (Twitter)
    Listen: ALT 97.5 FM

    Spanish Language:

    Watch: Univision/Unimas/TUDN
Listen: TUDN Radio Austin (104.3-HD2, KLQB)

No experience with any of that, but from what I've heard the Austin FC app will only have locally televised games not out of town games televised by cable networks, so I wouldn't count on the app.

Anyone have a suggestion for a spot in South Austin to watch the match?

I've tried two of the bars here in the southside, and neither had much enthusiasm.  The games were on the tv, but most of the patrons did not seem particularly interested.

I want to go somewhere that cheering loudly when a goal is scored will not cause people to stare, and I won't be the only one wearing Austin FC gear.

    Must I travel North?

I've been to the new Lustre Pearl South a couple times. They have a big indoor area with open garage doors on one side with one big TV and several smaller ones. Lots of folks wearing jerseys. Not a full blown rowdy soccer watching environment, but definitely more so than a standard bar.

Do the games stream through the AFC app so you can cast to your TV?

YouTube TV doesn’t seem to have the CW and I don’t really want to go buy an antenna just for that channel.

Yes you can cast to your TV from the app, at least you could a few weeks back when I tried it.

Great win!  I am so pumped about this team.  And the supporters making these road trips are so freaking awesome.

Shame about Sweat.  I hope his knee injury isn't too bad.  I also hope the Pochettino "registration" issue is resolved ASAP!

Seriously. I thought that kind of shit only happened in Europe.

  8. That was some fun second half action. Major props to all those folks who made the trip to Denver, they were rewarded with a fun one. Man I wish that home opener would get here.

  9. Expected worse. Pleasantly surprised. Very competitive. Need to finish better obviously and clean some stuff up in the box but I was pleased with the effort and thought we never looked overmatched.

  10. Pretty tough test for the opening match. Environment won’t be as rowdy as normal. Think they’re only allowing 4,000 fans in the stadium in LA which is too bad but probably good for us.

How are you watching? I have the app....but it says I can’t.

Are you in Austin area? Think you have to be.

  12. Watching the stream of the Houston match. Good first half, up 1-0 on a nice free kick out of Pochettino. Some defensive miscues that need to get cleaned up.

That was pretty cool. Really cool actually. Feels weird to have a legit pro team for Austin finally.

  14. Some more details:

    1) it was behind a locked gate. They cut the lock.
    2) My brother says in the video the guys look pretty meth-headish.

    3) They rode up on bikes and cased the place, then brought the Tahoe over, cut the chain and grabbed the trailer  fortunately the Yeti was at my brothers place for the crawafish boil we had over the weekend.

    4) Some sketchy looking dude on a bike was in the area today but a co-worker confronted him a bit too aggressively and he got away. May have just been a random homeless dude but the bike looked similar to one they saw in the video.

I might have not parked it outside to prevent thievery.

Yeah. I believe it was fenced but not locked. It’s not a high traffic area so he didn’t think it would be an issue. Unfortunately he was wrong.

You’ll give me a brisket if I track down a criminal and turn him over to you? What a deal!

That would be ideal, but if you see the dude and get a license plate number, address, good pics, whatever that helps us track 'em down, that's good enough. My meat will be yours.

  17. Some jerks stole my brother in law's mobile BBQ pit which he handmade and modeled after Aaron Franklin's mobile pit. Needless to say, we are all really pissed. The smoker was stolen Monday night from the Ben White/S. Congress area by the dudes in the security pic. They removed their license plate to avoid detection. I'll pony up for a free prime brisket smoked on this bad boy if you track it down for us.
