(this was in context of a reply where someone suggested McKinnie go to Wrexham if things don't work out at Juventus)
Putting this here since it's Wrexham-centric, but even Wright is likely out of their price range.
His current salary at Coventry would be tied for the highest in League 1 (slightly over 1 million pounds) and according to Transfermarkt his transfer fee estimate is 7 million euros. He may be angling for a shot in the Premier League with how well he's been playing. Same for Sargent (who might be in EPL regardless if Norwich manages to get promoted).
So even though Americans can be had at a discount I'm not sure that makes anyone who is USMNT first team eligible an option for them - at least as a permanent signing.
It would have to be a loan for a guy who needs playing time and could help Wrexham push for promotion if they are in a position to do so. Any permanent types would have to be someone young like Tanner Tessman (who is cheap) or maybe an older guy like Tim Ream now that he's in the twilight of his career but can still play at a high level (just not EPL starter quality).
This just gets back to my point that although they may be good enough right now to avoid relegation back to EFL 2 without much change they are going to have to pay significantly more than they have in the past in order to challenge for promotion to the Championship in just one year.
