  1. Tell Jerry, even though the discount he gives the UIL, he needs to reduce prices on concessions and parking for the weekend. He should also let people that purchase Saturday game tickets or the previous days to leave and come back in for a later game. Being a “hostage” and feeding a family of four for three games is worse $$$ wise than attending a Cowboys game! Hook’em!!!
  2. Stadium smack! If they step back and look at their “erector set” of their new addition, they’d logically think twice about comparing our two stadiums. You couldn’t pay me to sit in their South EZ! That shit is unfortunately going to fail within ten years and the lives lost will pale in comparison to their cherished bonfire collapse. Hook’em!!!
  3. I officiated games for AH when MT was a Freshman and Sophomore, already on the Varsity. Coach Rittimann, by Terry’s Soph year already used him in multiple positions on offense. As an Umpire (by the LBs) I never knew where he’d line up, as he was already that kind of athlete. Dude was amazing already! I stopped officiating before last season. Hook’em!!!
  4. It’s unfortunate that with the realignment two years ago, the UIL forced AH to play in the SAISD, because after all, that’s where they reside. They had zero competition during district play and frankly playing their JV in practice probably gave them better looks during mid-week than on Friday nights. They tried to fight to get back to like playing Kerrville, Boerne, Marble Falls and etc, but was denied. Hook’em!!!
  5. I thought Klubnick played a great game and just what Clemson could’ve asked for. His home town reunion is nothing but something to hold his head high about. His offense, which was missing some key parts, exposed our defense, especially behind the front seven all night. Cade threw some dimes too! That was a great environment for him and Clemson heading into next year. Each time I thought Texas was about to bust it open towards a route, they’d come right back. Clemson achieved about 150 total yards more than our defense’s average per game. Hook’em!!!
  6. A black sharpie after the failed “attempt,” as well as causing two injuries would’ve been a quick fix to the play sheet. The very next play Majors gets concussed on a blind side block after a tipped INT. Next week and forward just please omit that play until next year or never - too slow. Hook’em!!!
  7. Gay - please stop representing CFB. Hook’em!!!
  8. It just baffles my mind as to thinking how Notre Dame lost, at home, to Northern Illinois? Man, I swear, as a year ago it was Marshall. Hook’em!!!
  9. I forgot one of Jaime’s class teammates is also the Superintendent of Hardin-Jefferson (Dr. Holmes) or at least was. Hook’em!!!
  10. Damn I’m getting old. Jamie Harrison, next in line to Charles Breithaupt (UIL) was a freshman BB player for Charles when I was a senior at Hardin-Jefferson. Charles was my Bible School teacher when I moved to Sour Lake in my Jr High years. Jamie’s class and BB team, that won State his senior year, includes Jamie, a Superintendent (Nolte), an accountant, and an orthopedic surgeon (G.P. Isabell). Charles did well! Hook’em!!!
  11. SOC needs to stop trying to run b/t the tackles. As I stated earlier RR’s interior DL is stout! Hook’em!!!
  12. TXHSFB and maybe 2-3 other states follow the current NCAA rules, with less than about 10 exceptions. The rule book changes every two years, but “exceptions” are announced to everyone prior to week one of the new year. Hook’em!!!
  13. In NCAA and TXHSFB, only the player that received the snap AND fumbled may advance the ball forward. If the recipient of the snap “muffs” the reception, any offensive player may advance the ball forward. Always one of the best TASO questions on the yearly exam. Yes referees have to take an exam each year to qualify for Varsity and post-season games. Hook’em!!!
  14. Go luck and thanks for your contributions over the years. My bracket at work has your Irish vs the Horns for the NC. I won’t tell you who I picked to win. Hook’em!!!
  15. Dad has a framed schedule of the results of the ‘63 season, which they played Tulane in the old Sugar Bowl in NO, during week one of that season. As a child I’d asked him where Tulane was and even found out that they were a member of the Old SEC. Hook’em!!!
  16. Green and powder blue are their colors. I think it’s a great alternative uniform. Always kind of been a fan of Tulane, mostly baseball. Tee Yea! Go Waves! Hook’em!!!
  17. SOC is playing that new Richmond Randle team that knocked off my kids’ Boerne last week. They have two interior D-Linemen that will be playing for D-1 schools next Fall, to just name a few. Boerne was pretty good again and trying to reach Jerry World for two in a row, but the game wasn’t even close against Randle. Hook’em!!!
  18. Dad’s DeSoto team traveled to Waco and played Waco University, around ‘82 or 83, in a preseason scrimmage. During pregame warmups,at midfield, one of their players came over past midfield at hollered “We ficking to hit!” Yes “ficking.” Didn’t help them, as if I remember they didn’t even score. As a junior high kid, son of the HC, and “manager” I was there and heard it all. At least once a year over the decades, one of us has said that phrase over phone calls or in person during a football season. Hook’em!!!
  19. From running errands and Christmas shopping on a day off in SA. FIGHT !!!! Hook’em!!!
  20. Can he just wear the current punter’s jersey and nobody say anything? Hook’em!!!
  21. I’ve been looking forward to this weekend all season. In August I was just hoping the Longhorns would be 1 of 12. Now we’re all here to the new format and it’s almost like a new season. Let’s GO! Hook’em!!!
  22. Thank you for finding and sharing that interview. Hook’em!!!
  23. Because of the penalty providing an “untimed down” to end either half, any type of offensive play could’ve been used. But yes, in NCAA or TXHSFB, it would’ve looked like a regular FG attempt, not like the NFL with no snap, hold, or defensive team rushing. Hook’em!!!
  24. CSB - I grew up in SETX for HS. My team (H-J) played Woodville (there) mid/late ‘80s. It rained so hard during pregame warmups that we left the field early. By the time we left the field, their cinder gravel track’s curbs held all the incoming rainfall. It was like ankle deep for 8 lanes of a cinder track! Of course with a smaller school, there was no extra socks or shoes. Once we came back on the field, both bands had departed to the school/bus and fans were gone. We won in like a -3 point margin with the total score less than 20-25. It never stopped raining, but with no lightening delays, the game went on. We could’ve played the game in the HS parking lots, as that’s about as many would’ve witnessed it. Hook’em!!!
  25. IMO - if Quinn and the Horns have a great 1st Qtr, we will be OK and win by 15+. Early game Quinn struggles and no running game, here comes Arch and “Buckle Up”! If somehow Arch leads us to victory, he should be the starter going forward. Hook’em!!!
