  1. My wife’s dumb ass Bassett Hound will “counter serf” searching for chips, bread, or basically anything within reach while we’re at work. I tell her constantly that we’re not feeding him enough b/t 5:30-6, prior to leaving for work. I get home first and usually have to clean up the crime scene, so upon her arrival she just says he must have been hungry. Like no shit, at least I ain’t cleaning that up! How about he’s just a dumb ass Basset and that’s what they do? Hook’em!!!
  2. I’m in my mid-50s and as a life long Cowboys Fan, I honestly think my loyalties would switch to the Texans. I’ve seen enough of side-show Jerrah, to convince me that I’ve wasted the last 2+ decades. And this is from a guy that spent 1K for my son’s B-Day present to see his beloved Saints vs my Cowboys during Week-2 of this season. Tickets (pretty good seats for two) parking, hotel the night before, because living in SA, restaurant to watch the Longhorns the night before, and all that shit adds up! Not counting concessions when he asked for my CC to go get two popcorns and water prior to KO. I asked how much? He said you don’t want to know! Shit was over $60! Almost booted my son out of my truck as we entered Hamilton, as I swear he stated “Who Dat?” one more time, he was walking his ass back to SA! Hook’em!!!
  3. I’d just like to know how y’all find some of this crazy shit y’all post. Not saying I don’t enjoy, just asking? Hook’em!!!
  4. To include the usual grammar mistakes. Has to be AI right? Does AI grammar/spell check? I have no idea. Hook’em!!!
  5. As a pharmaceutical rep in SW Louisiana and SETX during the early 2000s, yes I’d hang my jacket behind the driver’s seat, take it out for each stop, then put it on just prior to entering each building. The mandatory suit jackets for males was crazy even back in those days! Summertime was a bitch! The local dry cleaners liked it though. Hook’em!!!
  6. What an amazing victory by J Whitt’s Rams tonight. For all that they had to go through the last week+, it’s amazing that they were able to play tonight the way the Rams did. The Vikings all year were one of the NFL’s best teams, with their prior game playing for Home Field advantage to losing like that on the road, which wasn’t even “home” for the host. On to Philly for the Rams. Impact on their preparation going forward still questionable, but best of luck to them. What a way to end a rookie season for J Whitt! Hook’em!!!
  7. But I worked though. 1 catch for 3 yards. If you’ve told me that pre-game I’d thought he got hurt in Q1 or Texas won by 20+. Hook’em!!!
  8. And like you, I hold John Wayne in the Mount Rushmore of my personal actors. Just saying both were great in their own right, but in different times and eras. Kind of like saying who was better between Street and VY. Both immortals IMO, but that’s my opinion. Hook’em!!!
  9. Through my “burnt orange” colored officiating goggles, Helm pointed directly at the opponent he blew up on the sideline during his reception. Simply going back to celebrate with teammates in the huddle/sideline would’ve garnered zero penalties and leave no question for an official. IMO but I digress. Hook’em!!!
  10. Plus Poona (95) is now with the Chargers. As quirky as Jim Harbaugh is, part of me likes his schtick. Hook’em!!!
  11. Dicker = 6 Texans = 10 At the half. Rooting for the Texans, but like the Chargers uniforms, if that makes any sense. My wife says who cares. After last night, just relieved to be able to still watch football instead of some “house wives arguing” show or MFng QVC in the living room. Hook’em!!!
  12. Stop with the Sam vs Quinn comparisons. Two totally different players, which I love and admire both for their efforts on the 40. But hey, apples to oranges, ok: Sam = John Wayne Quinn = Brad Pitt Just for an example. Like/love each other over time, but to say one is better than another is just opinionated. Hook’em!!!
  13. Many would like to have D Ryan’s success over the previous decades. It’s happened to others as towns/school districts have grown and the Goliath is taken down a notch or two with the addition of newer schools within the district. Converse Judson (SA) is a prime example! Hell they can barely make the playoffs now with .500 teams getting in. Hook’em!!!
  14. The “quality loss” measured along with the assumption of victory is the fuel that has driven aggy football for decades. Hook’em!!!
  15. Old man rant - 72 hours ago, weather threats of snowy/ice conditions in D/FW, wife insisted that my son and I stay home (driving from SA), so she assumed we’d want to go watch the game at my BIL’s house! Hell, if I ain’t physically at the game, she knows I’m a “wreck” and would rather pace back and forth in front of my bedroom TV (actual better clarity) than holler after most plays in the living room. I am NOT a hospitable game watching guest! I like to think I know too much and they can hear me, according to my wife. Hook’em!!!
  16. Outside of Nick’s last name spelling, yes you are correct. We’ve got two years with Arch to rise to the ultimate prize, as a team and individual player. He will go to the NFL after hopefully two amazing seasons and so much program defining success to hold on to. Of course all this is forward thinking, but I really think he has the tools to be awesome. Maybe eventually even be better than his Uncles, as he has Grandpa’s speed and agility. Hook’em!!!
  17. ~1/3 of OSU’s pass total happened on the last play of the 1st half. It’s actually amazing that it wasn’t reviewed as “lineman downfield,” because on initial viewing, that was the first thing I thought, as I saw three down field blockers. I just couldn’t verify if the RB was behind the LOS at the time. The 3 OL were at least +5 downfield and that call is on the Side Judge. I was at my BIL’s (non-football guy, but UT Alum), so he wouldn’t understand why I would want to review a play/DVR for my conscious. I did holler it at the TV though, which I then had to explain the rule. Hook’em!!!
  18. And I agree with you on the “gray area” of an officials thinking. The only problem is it only takes one official to see it, throw a flag, and it’s not reviewable. It can, however, be overruled by the white hat, which this wasn’t. Hook’em!!!
  19. In the Michigan game, he pointed directly at the player he beat for the EZ catch. It’s the same as tossing the ball to the opponent or holding it in front of his face - post play. Hook’em!!!
  20. Quinn helped “right the ship” post 5-7. Many forget he skipped his Senior (seasoning) year as a QB in HS to go to OSU. Very little actual plays, outside of practice, while at OSU he was really still like a true really hyped Freshman when he came to the 40. Quinn helped rally the troops, get some better recruits, and started the foundation of where we are today. Remember when Bama came to Austin and he was lighting them up, prior to his sack/injury! Each year at UT, healthy Spring/Fall camp showed improvements in Quinn, but each consecutive seasons involved injuries where he missed time/games. This year the oblique was worse than let on (no deep balls) and then the ankle. It wasn’t until the post season that he was almost 100%. I wish him nothing but the best for his future playing career and thank him for what he did wearing the Burnt Orange! Hook’em!!!
  21. Wrong - slow mo, which the TV ref had time during the review for possible fumble, should’ve buzzed in and said we had targeting on #8, plus no fumble. IMO. Hook’em!!!
  22. Plain and simple, it’s considered taunting. The same would’ve been (hypothetically) if a defender sacked Ewers and threw the “Horns down” or “throat slash” in Ewers face - post play. Hook’em!!!
  23. So ready for Arch to take control of the offense and team. The play tonight that he ran for the first, while reviewing it for a possible fumble, the dumb asses didn’t “think” to possibly review that play for targeting? It was never mentioned as a possibility by the TV crew, as I kept hollering that they were looking for the wrong thing. I really think Arch was concussed by that blow to the back of his head and that’s why Sark didn’t send him in there when we had the ball under 3:00 with 1st and Goal. Hook’em!!!
  24. Gunnar isn’t the reason we lost this game by any means, but his “finger pointing” to a defender during the Michigan game, I stated here that he was very lucky to have not caused the team a “post-play” unsportsmanlike 15 yard penalty. Many on here thought I was ridiculous at the time, even though I officiated TXHSFB for almost decade. I would’ve flagged him! At that time and game the opponent would have the choice to enforce the 15 on the try or KO. Today it was still a 1st, but erased the gain - 15 yards! You will never know the future repercussions of the “next play” until it occurs. Fortunately it was a great pass/catch to make up the yards, but man, all you had to do was not point at the defender you blew up. Hook’em!!!
