  1. Also want to shout out the cheesecake, which is well worth bringing to a holiday situation. It serves 12 or so and is really good for the price.
  2. Well it sure isn't going to be Mickey Joseph...holy hell.
  3. From what I recall, at least one of the coaches sandbagged him with scouts around draft time. Shots about his commitment and effort. Even if some of those coaches aren't around, I'd imagine that sours the ol' memories. Also, I think one of them might actually be back, which would almost certainly be a dealbreaker.
  4. The hilarious part is that I see people claiming that having Gundy around would have equated to at least 3-4 fewer losses. While I think he was generally a plus recruiter and a good guy to have on staff, what exactly do they think a WR coach does?!?
  5. I don't want to be the "source?" guy, because I'm woefully without sources myself. However...this is huge news. Where are we hearing this?
  6. Oberweis (St. Louis) is around the same per gallon. I love it, but I'm the only one in the house who drinks it.
  7. If you have to go hot and fast, keep a cup of water to add if it starts to go too dark.
  8. There was some sort of last minute contact that ended up being the turning point. I don't remember if it got reported a day or two before signing, or just super early the day of. They certainly thought he was in pocket the entire time, though, and it was a real kick in the pants.
  9. Can't go out and get pumped Five-Goose and expect people to be excited to jump aboard.

    MUNDIAL XXII

Would absolutely love for the attendance to crater this cycle. I'm sure tickets are bought and non-refundable, which is why they're comfortable springing this nonsense last-minute.
  11. Ill defer to your knowledge there.
  12. I don't know if I agree completely. Texas may have whiffed a bit early, but there's not much you can do if a guy wants to see the rest of the country. Similarly, I don't know that I'd mark OU as blowing it if he ends up at Texas. It was always going to be a hill to climb to pull a high-priority guy from directly in town who is also getting the hard sell from a famous family all while your own family has season tickets. Couple that with the huge win in Dallas and the overall good momentum from UT, and it's easy to see how he could slide in that direction. If OU can't get him back on campus in the next few weeks to at least re-pitch him, then I would definitely consider THAT a huge failure.
  13. Oh for sure. You've got to love your position with a guy who won't even confirm he's committed still.
  14. I will absolutely accept the correction, if only based on your name.
  15. Sounds like some folks need to get in the motherfucker.
  16. Hurt returning versus TCU. Lower body something, I think.
  17. Heupel got put in a pretty untenable position by Stoops, in my opinion. After the Manziel Cotton Bowl, Stoops wanted to incorporate more QB run game, but he refused to put a starting QB in harm's way, so the scheme called for a ton of fake zone reads that were just slow handoffs. It took no time at all for defenses to figure that out, which crushed the run game. AND because of the scheme shift, the QBs on the roster were less able to be pocket passers, so they were limited in that sense as well. Then he got blamed for the whole thing. To his credit, he's never made any of that public, so I could be way off base. I do know for a fact that Bob was hyper protective of starting QBs.
  18. No real sense of why, but recruitment seems to be cratering for this dude. OU backed off, Miami and Ole Miss have reportedly canceled visits that were scheduled.
  19. We will see what this week's practices look like. If you think someone's close but being lazy, I can semi-understand the hard-nosed approach. If you realize they're floundering and need rebuilding, the support HAS to be there. This is a real inflection point in his career, so let's see what comes out of it.
  20. Well this isn't true the fuck at all anymore...hahahaha
  21. Consider that OU is probably down two top returning WRs if everything is equal from portal to injuries, so that's a push. QB would be more of a struggle than Texas has had, likely. Nobody on the roster has played any meaningful snaps outside of Gabriel. OL is still a work in progress based on the last game, so losing one of the rotation there would be uncomfortable, but not a huge drop-off. Good analysis of the interior OL play from Gabe Ikard this week, getting into details about how Raym is making the game harder for himself, lack of communication, and the struggles they've had in operating as a unit G/C/G or in pairs of C/G. He's not sure if it's the tempo or some other factor causing the mental lapses, but he puts it all down to execution or instruction, rather than innate talent.
  22. Not really, no. Everyone expected to be contributing is doing so. Minor, week-to-week stuff like anyone.
  23. Great area for Bosnian food, due to a large refugee population.
  24. It's the AD, Castiglione in the hat. Not that it changes the look, but...
  25. Philbrook will take at least two hours, probably closer to three if you take your time and actually look at the exhibits and walk the grounds a bit.
