  1. This. And, his grandfather is one of the most influential professors in UT history. The kid can have 2 scholarships because he satisfies two roles. I love that he is on the team. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Alan_Wright
  2. Yes. And a tiny piece of my soul.
  3. In the world of shitty, uncaring Airlines, I think United takes the cake. At least with Frontier and Alligiant you know it’s Air-greyhound. Fuck you in the goat ass, United.
  4. Finishing up our third week in Panama. We spent the day today just walking around and eating. Had two weeks of immersion courses, which were a great overall. Would highly recommend it if you can ever find the time- Casco Antiguo Spanish school. As for the humidity, suck it up and take a couple cold showers each day. We spent the majority of our time in Casco Viejo, since that’s where the school is located. We’ve had a couple old fashions at Amarla, per @midtown. The first one was great, the second one was pretty good. Drink a caipirinha at the American Bazaar if you can. Trying to eat pounds of ceviche. So far the best is at a small restaurant next to the school called the snack shack. Get a mojito there. Great Peruvian food at Nazca. Get the daily special- it’s $7, or $8 with an app. Get an egg sandwich at Sisu. Get a black coffee at Unido. Don’t think the crazy expensive Geisha coffee is worth it. Ate breakfast at La Compania hotel most mornings, even though we were staying in Albrook. Five of us consistently split empanadas and coffee for $20 or so. Wonderful staff and beautiful hotel. Possibly the best, and cheapest, meal that we had was in the fonda at Mercado de San Felipe. Great soup- sancocho. There was also some fish with orange sauce that was great. My kids love getting the fresh juice from the market- plastic jugs full of everything. Spent last weekend in the jungle at Gamboa. Easy trip From the city. Headed to the pearl islands in the morning.Hope to do some fishing and reading- if my kids let me.
  5. This is more in line with what I’ve been told that. We’ve got friends that have a place in Panama City and they recommended going to the islands but spending the night. @midtown we will definitely check out the Amarla.
  6. So, I'm taking my wife and 3 kids to Panama City. Doing an immersion course in Casco Viejo for a few weeks. I'm very much a - pick a few things and wing it the rest of the trip - kind of guy. So, thinking San Blas islands, Peacock Bass fishing, and food. Lots of food. Gonna take a hard pass on the whore recommendations above. Got anything else?
  7. Phyllis from Mulga?
  8. I’m not worried about Milroe. It’s whoever the backup is that concerns me. Just a small case of backup PTSD.
  9. How many Polish David Ashes does it take to throw a football?
  10. Actually, it’s in Bryan, because even they didn’t wanna put it in college station.
  11. Good friend of mine, lives in Bryan, and I went down to visit him recently. As I pull into the subdivision, all the street signs are aggie related, the signs are purple, everything is screaming fish camp. Really weird and unexpected, plus it was dark. Sidenote, on the pettiness of me, I do like to say purple instead of maroon because it will freak out an aggie fan. It can also be used as a litmus test of sorts in mixed company to see if someone has been indoctrinated. Anyway, as you pull into the subdivision, the A&M logo is on the front signage, bigger than the name of the place….ATM Traditions. Thought to myself, “if this is an aggie tradition, all these fuckers must be upside down on these houses.”
