  1. WANT. 13.67 K/9 and threw a No-No against UC Riverside (I'm aware how shitty they are). He got better as the season went on- reached season low ERA after last appearance. While Big West competition has slipped recently (19th best RPI conference), he did show he can do it against legitimate competition: Gonzaga: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 7K, 1 BB Oregon State: 3.1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 6K, 3 BB
  2. Hurley is pretty interesting to me. He's 6'8 and PG had his velo at 93 out of high school- no clue where he sits now. That said, nobody on our squad who threw > 15 IP had a lower K/9 ratio. Maybe some life/upside left in the arm? *NERD EDIT* Another stat- Looked at the 767 qualified D1 pitchers at D1's stat page. There are 203 pitchers who had as low of a H/9 ratio as Hurley (8.38). Every single one of them had a higher K/9 ratio. Is this telling us he's fortunate he didn't get touched up harder? Or is that some kind of proof of pitchability/ good stuff? Here's how Hurley / Skenes/ Smeltz (Purdue kid) stack up compared to this past years roster:
  3. While we are jerking ourselves off in this world... 321.09 would be good for 7th best class since 2010.
  4. Nice of you to have homosexuals over for dinner.
  5. Was expecting it to be an aggy. WTF Dick, you fucking rube.
  6. FYI this was for 2020 season. This weekend I will try to replicate for 2021. Here is same data for other conferences which I don't think I included when I posted this about a year ago. Viewership data doesn't get published for some of the other conference tv deals so you'll see that it's a much less complete picture. Maybe still good fodder for you fucking nerds. NOTE- Second section of viewership includes following exclusions: PAC- USC & Oregon, ACC- Clemson & Miami, B10- Mich & OSU, SEC- Bama & UGA. PAC: ACC: B10: SEC:
  7. Anybody have insight on how summer ball works? I guess Skenes is taking the US National team route but that is obviously a rare and different route. How do players choose their summer team? Assuming players have to pay their own way like they would a travel ball team in high school? What percentage of guys just don’t play summer ball?
  8. Fuck yeah… tapping into another blue chip factory (Hewitt-Trussville):
  9. Murph back would be huge... Might have been someone on here who posed the question but can you remember a more under-appreciated season than the one Murph just had in Ivan’s shadow? Hodo is getting 7-10th round grades which I’m guessing will be high enough for him given he already graduated and I don’t think there are any glaring holes in his game that he could fix coming back for one more. Would be shocked if Silas is back. He’s going to go top 5 rounds easy and I hope he gets a nice, well earned payday. Biggest wildcard in my mind is Trey. I think he could gain most from coming back. The tools alone get him drafted but the K issue is the elephant in the room. If he can come back, keep slugging, and cut the k-rate to even ~25-30%, he’s probably going in the 2nd round next draft.
  10. Hoping there were occupancy issues… if not, holy fuck did they shit the bed underwriting this bitch.
  11. Pissed in an empty Gatorade bottle waiting in student line to get into Frank Erwin for a KU game. Thought my buddies provided enough cover and I was being discreet until I locked eyes with a girl from one of the prude spirit groups (spirits?) who was a few feet ahead in line. She was impressed by nothing she saw.
  12. Any cooperation should be contingent on them losing the fucking horn.
  13. Been a while since I laughed this hard on surly. And I feel poorly for it.
  14. Believe there are still a couple of interesting Baylor players in the portal- wonder if that helps here.. Specifically thinking of Jared McKenzie who would slide in very nicely into the outfield. Believe Phil Nevin's kid who also rakes was in there too.
  15. In.
  16. In thinking through desirability of ACC/PAC/B12 schools to fill spots in a Mega BIG/SEC scramble. Note fan size is taken directly from this study that was posted somewhere on here previously... Can't vouch for methodology but it feels directionally correct other than a few weird ones (Syracuse?): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MiUOwx8X3H2bSkUOz8a1YhceyJWLLCoJ/view?usp=drivesdk
  17. If Big 10 announced they were expanding to 24 and offered spot to ISU you wouldn't want it?
  18. In a scenario where it really does become SEC and BIG with 20-24 teams running shit, are there luckier motherfuckers out there than the likes of Rutgers, Illinois, Northwestern, Vandy, Mizzou who I guess are grandfathered in? 24 teams each would leave 16 total spots for leftover ACC, Pac-12, Big 12 schools and Notre Dame (37 total). Kind of fun exercise thinking through how you rank those schools in terms of desirability.
  19. Is there a scenario where Big 12 losing/gaining teams in some kind of Big 12-Pac merger reduces our buyout or speeds up the SEC timeline?
