Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
I'm sure we will keep those. It is the ND series that should be in question. we have ASU scheduled out a ways, probably portends the way CDC has been thinking.

23 we forced them to put us in beating Bama, 24 was no brainer, 25 easy peasy to leave us out, but we expose their bullshit.

be funny if it was OSU, Indiana, Tech and Georgia. SOS 37,56,69,18 if you go by Sagarin right now you get Notre Dame, OSU, Indiana, Oregon. no SEC or Big 12.

I've been using Minnesota as an example. get those motherfuckers on the schedule ASAP!

Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
It is interesting that people thought this. after decades of seeing SOS's in the 30's to 40's be rewarded as long as you limited the loss column, watching SEC schedule D2 schools once a year, some even scheduling low/mid level G5 for the other 3 games, and still get rewarded with, get this, a "conf rematch National Championship game" it was obvious. A leopard doesn't change its spots. the OOC statement by the committee should have said "high profile OOC games will not be punished IF YOU HAVE SAME NUMBER OF LOSSES" they weasel worded something about like teams. We needed these games in 2 team and 4 team era when in the Big 12 after neb/aggy left. We don't need them now. hell the Big 12 doesn't even need them now. Lose early still exists also, see ND and Bama. The goal is to make the playoffs, just like the NCAA tournament in basketball, and to do that you limit the chances for any loss in a 12 game season. This is different than basketball and baseball. you can't have a 32 or 64 team playoff in football unless you eliminate OOC altogether. scheduling a 50/50 potential loss is kind of stupid to be honest.

we should actually push for this punishment as a standing rule for the committee. I'd love to punish dirt burglar/Georgia for Venables/Smart.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
yes, the OL last year was good, not close to great. We had a very very good to great LT which helped Ewers survive the season.

on the money. agree with the point on ND. there is no reason to give them OOC games. They can have their USC game and everyone else needs to stop. ND's basically guaranteed spot is hurting Big 12 and ACC also but they want to schedule them to raise SOS. the most hostile environment they play in next year is at Wisconsin.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
I think we are lucky that Arch has his grandad to tell him about how to handle himself behind shitty OL's. "Let me tell you a story, boy...."

2025 CFB Polls/Rankings Thead
I have no doubt Bama will play Georgia close enough that a loss won't be a problem. The easiest thing to do will be for the committee to say Florida loss kept us out and point out our SOR is not in top 10. when we all know it is just the loss column number. the BYU winning conundrum would be hilarious though. Going to 16 is problematic because the committee wants byes to keep conf champ games more relevant when both participants are obviously in like Indiana/OSU. G5 playing #1 team is also a much lower chance of pulling an upset. now they play #5.

the new mythical SOR - this seems like some bullshit The "strength of record" (SOR) for an average top 25 team is the probability that an average team in the top 25 would achieve the same record or better given the team's specific schedule. It’s a metric that measures both the quality of a team's record and the difficulty of the games it has played. How it's calculated: SOR compares a team's actual record against its schedule to the record an average top-25 team would likely achieve with that same schedule.

It applies for SEC and Big Ten and ND. I am not saying it never happens but it is probably 95% of the time. Indiana last year is an example because they were "new money" and their schedule was so weak. 10-1 BYU is the only team in the top 16 not ranked in order of loss column. And that is probably because they expect them to get drilled by Tech and will drop anyway. They always sprinkle in the other 2 P4's and a G5 to make it look good, especially farther down the poll you go(again where it doesn't really matter). The portion of the poll that actually matters is basically loss column and pretty much as been that way for the last 50 to 60 years or so. before that the east coast media bias had situations where loss column was sometimes ignored for national champions. 1960 is a good example Minnesota was 9-1, Ole Miss was 9-0-1 but there are others, especially before AP and UPI/Coaches moved to post Bowl game ranking.

thats their big P4 OOC for the next 2 years. easy win. the QB will be gone.

Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
good stuff. as I have been saying, yes comparable teams mean the loss column which is 90% of the criteria. the others can be used for tie breakers in loss column. it doesn't matter that we pants'd OU, Vandy and Aggy. we have 3 losses.

Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
we aren't the ones that make the rules and rated them #3. we can tell you and show you we were right and brag about beating #3. what is so difficult?

Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
Miami with Beck would be juicy for the committee to line up with Georgia as a 2nd round game if they got there.
-
Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
Vandy fans should be smart but are idiots. their problem is no good wins in SEC not VT being 3-9. It's not hurting Ole Miss at all.

Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
no chance. bama has 2 losses and is in the champ game. ND is ND only has 2 early losses and Stoops'd the scoreboard the rest of the way. the committee doesn't consider the transitive property. that is for fans.

not with how things played out. we weren't getting in over ND or Bama.

my god this...no Mariachi's in the 2nd half. do it early in the game once and be done if we have to do it at all. at least they didn't do it before we were going on Defense only when we were going on Offense. not sure if that was just a random occurrence but please, one time a game is enough.

Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
I think you misunderstand me. they have no requirement to put the 3 loss team(who didn't play in the conf champ game) at 10 in the last poll regardless of where they rank us in the previous poll. they would just put us at 12 for appearances. they will talk about how they are giving us credit for the tOSU game(if ESPN asks) but, it's Bama OU ND. H2H doesn't matter, SOS doesn't matter, getting beat in the conf champ game doesn't matter. the only thing that matters is the 3rd loss. Sark was right when he said since Florida he told the team every game was a playoff game from here on out. he knew 3 losses and we were out because he knows how these guys all think. they are all ex players, ex coaches, ex AD's and losses are BAD and they've all been fucked by being ranked below a team that has one fewer losses when they knew they were better. you are what your record says you are. our turn in the barrel.

Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
yeah, we aren't getting in. media contracts aren't gonna affect this decision made by the people in the room. this discussion now is what the committee actually values and what we could do in the future in the era of super conference unbalanced schedules.
