  1. The numbers are not black and white here.  For one, half of 2020 was pretty dang quiet, crime wise.  Second, after defunding, APD stepped back from proactive policing and went into reactive mode, causing crime stats to drop on paper.  On top of that, the DA refusing to prosecute led to less citations / arrests for some of the lower level crimes.  911 calls being deferred to 311, 311 not generating crime reports, etc.  It's not a good comparison to use crime stats from the two eras.

Also, think of all those @Nicole44 victims in the last couple years they wrote off as accidental drownings.  There's a good handful of murders missing from the stat sheets.

More like the B1G entering USC, amirite?!

But come on, throw Oregon on the couch here... And Iowa is clearly the ones holding the camera in the corner.  And Penn State is in the shower with, well, not her.

Sylestine was well-funded and his camp believed Travis county voters wanted a change. They were wrong. That's democracy for you.

Eh, with around 89% of voters staying home for the primaries, I wouldn't call that an affirmation of Garza's job performance.  I bet if you polled most voters, his approval rating would be on the low side, but people are just too lazy to get off their asses and do anything about it.

Look, I’m no fan of Garza. If I lived in Travis County I would have voted against him, just like I did against Ogg in Harris County (oh, noes Soros also donated to her opponent). But pointing out Soros contributions while ignoring shitbag billionaires on the other side is disingenuous at best.

I'm pointing that out because that's the only narrative going around: Jeremy was funded by the Westlake / Rollingwood big donors.  The media has beaten that narrative to death while not mentioning anything about Garza donors.

    See:

    EDITED:

Also noted this from the article:

    Quote

Garza’s January filing was much less interesting (no George Soros donations this round). He took in just over $39,000 – perhaps because he entered the primary with a mountain of cash on hand. He spent $112,000, which left him with about $158,000 in cash as of Jan. 25.

Garza’s largest donations were for $5,000 and he received three of them. One from John Dismukes, a co-owner of the Armadillo World Headquarters, one from local criminal defense attorney Brad Vinson, and one from local healthcare attorney Carlos Zaffirini. All three have a history of contributing to national and state level Democrats. Zaffirini has also given hundreds of thousands of dollars to Republicans

took in 39K in January, 37,200 from the PAC Soros funds.  That's the Austin Chronicle for you...

Approximately 0.62% of the amount that Abbott accepted from Jeff Yass and 1.2% of the amount accepted by Dan Patrick from Defend Texas Liberty PAC whose main supporter is Tim Dunn.

    BUT SOROS!!!!

The old toolbag was a majority contributor to the only listed PAC that donated this go-round to Jose.  Again, out of district / state money influencing the election.  I'd much rather see someone from the other side of the aisle donating to the opposing party's campaign than some shitbag masquerading his money as "Texas [in]Justice & Public Safety PAC".

I made 210k on my 2500 when 1 pad got hung up.   I bet I could have made 240, maybe.

Are you not towing?  Or towing with electronic brakes, and using the trailer to slow the truck?!  I'm going through brake pads every 50K or so on average on most of my vehicles.

I have a 2011 Tacoma.  240K miles.  Outside of the shitty radio/CD player, it has been great.  Had to replace both catalytic converters at about 150k.  Other than than...just replace tires.

Might want to check those brake pads, homie...

KXAN interviewed the Sylestine the other night on his block walk who stated that 40% of Garza’s funding came from out of state. The ONLY reason I heard that is because it came directly out of the candidates mouth. You’d think someone would have fact checked that statement and made a bigger deal out of it one way or another. Since it didn’t get coverage I’m going to think it’s likely true and it was not covered intentionally.

From what I understand, a bulk of his coffers rolled from his last go-round, so it's hard to get a definitive number from out of state donors.  You could technically say that all the money rolled was from out of state contributions.  I also think the ActBlue PAC coffers make it much harder to track the source of some of those generic donations.

Nice change from the surly 50 and 60-something attendants who only take flights so they can keep their benefits, and only haven’t been fired because of their union status.

As many times as I've asked older flight attendants if they're on Surly, they've never admitted to it...

*** Oh yeah, we're firing the project manager because he's a bumbling idiot who fooled ALL OF US during his interview.

To be honest (and no offense to any PMs here), PMs aren't the best and brightest in their fields of work.  They are the OCD person who can put together a timeline.  All my previous employers, PMs are turning over like crazy.  I can think of two that are worth anything, and they tend to pivot into a bigger and better role after time.

I'm pretty sympathetic to UCF because Mrs.LL is an alumna.  But even so, seeing "UCF" on your schedule isn't going to get any Iowa State fan excited (or fan of Kansas State or Texas Tech or Utah).  And let's be real--the same goes for Cincinnati and Houston.  BYU excites Utah fans because of that historical rivalry, but that's about it.

I mean, I get why the Big XII did it at the time.  But woof--those additions just look worse and worse on a schedule that is now lacking Texas and Oklahoma.

And by the way--how the fuck did Iowa State not get one of the new Pac-10 refugees on its home schedule?  That would add a little spice to this otherwise completely shitty and bland Hot Dish.

I only got excited about Cinci because that's where my parents went.  But my pops will pull for UT these days over his alma mater.  Would have been fun to take him the a game at DKR with Cinci in town, but alas, it didn't happen.
