  1. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/43680556/florida-state-leonard-hamilton-stepping-end-season Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton announced Monday he's stepping down at the end of the season, ending a 23-year career in Tallahassee. Hamilton, 76, will end his Florida State tenure as the winningest coach in school history and in the top five in wins in the history of the ACC. During his time with the Seminoles, Hamilton guided the program to the 2020 ACC regular-season title and eight NCAA tournament appearances. He also advanced to the second weekend of the NCAA tournament on four occasions. . . . . . Hamilton is being sued by six former players basketball players from the 2023-24 team, alleging he failed to make good on a promise to get each of them $250,000 in name, image and likeness compensation. The plaintiffs -- Darin Green Jr., De'Ante Green, Cam'Ron Fletcher, Josh Nickelberry, Primo Spears and Jalen Warley -- filed suit in Leon County circuit court, and their attorney, Fort Lauderdale-based Darren Heitner, shared the 20-page complaint. The former players allege Hamilton promised them the money from his "business partners." The lawsuit says they walked out of a practice in the past season over the missed payments and intended to boycott a Feb. 17 game against Duke. They ended up playing -- the Seminoles lost -- amid a guarantee from Hamilton that they would be paid but they never were, according to the suit.
  2. They do some excellent work. Fun stuff.
  3. We were joking about how bad it must be for ESPN to have had our game on leading into a top game like Iowa State v Kansas. Oh, it was a horrible game.
  4. Well now, that was some embarrassing shit tonight. UVa, 3-8 in conference play came in to Pitt and beat the shit out of us. It was awful. 28:18 in hoops - thrashed all night, a guy from UVa gets his career-high, typical 33:21 in rebounds - weak team but, what do you expect when our big guys spend so much time outside the 3-pt line 20:5 in assists - selfish, stupid offense featuring dribble dribble dribble, pass, dribble dribble shoot bad shot late in the clock 28:18 points in the paint - weak inside all season 17:11 fouls - they roughed us up and we can't respond All after last week's win over UNC where they came on the radio preaching, "make the extra pass, make the extra pass" And Capel is afraid to sit anyone on the bench. We were winning playing a lot of guys, yes, the competition is better but, now we are playing just seven. Doesn't make sense. That was seriously pathetic.
  5. Dirt or mucus, phlegm? or Whores?
  6. those are so good. The writing, the narration and the camera work. Great stuff
  7. I’m gonna root for the Eagles. I don’t like them but, can’t really stand the Chiefs. I will say that I find myself caring much less, especially with the Super Bowl now in February. I lose interest, even more so with the extra week in between conference finals and the Super Bowl. The college playoffs was, to me, way more interesting and enjoyable I’ll watch but, I’ll be changing channels too.
  8. I don’t really care much for/against Calipari. He’s from here, went to Moon Area H.S. Then he went to Clarion University. I have some friends who know him pretty well. I’ve talked to him back when he was an assistant at Pitt and he was okay and all. I’ve got nothing for him, or against him. This UCONN v Marquette game has gotten good.
  9. Tough loss for Houston. I had no dog in the fight. Just a fun game.
  10. I thought he did travel there.
  11. Neither team has been great from FT. But Tech makes two huge ones
  12. Yeah, nobody was against him while at Pitt. He does some things pretty well but, has limitations, as do most players. He fills a need. I’m happy for him.
  13. Tech up 4 with the ball, 2:20 to play Federiko looks like the same player he was at Pitt, solid but, just not strong enough.
  14. Off to overtime. Houston had a chance
  15. Been a pretty fun game. A lot better than UNC at Duke
  16. Tech down 1, 49.7 to play
  17. Houston Cougars are wearing their Earl Campbell Tribute Uniforms now in their game v Texas Tech. Such a nice color combination.
  18. In The Heat of The Night holds up incredible well. I think it came out in 1967 or 1968.
  19. We had UNC in town Tuesday night and I mentioned how I didn’t see anything that they did especially well. They were small and didn’t do much against us (Pitt) and we have some serious deficiencies. Certainly not the game the ESPN commercials were looking for.
  20. Eagles are so awesome. When I was a kid, even up until about 20 years ago, there were never any eagles around Pittsburgh. Now, they are pretty much all over. We've always had falcons and hawks but, not eagles. There are some nest-cams around. Across the river from Oakmont some eagles live up on the hillside where no people can ever get. Up on our river, the Allegheny, there are plenty. When you go by on a late afternoon cruise on the boat it is so cool to see them, especially when the baby eagles are hatched, just hanging out, watching everything.
  21. It’s not so bad. The big difference in winter is more when it goes from 32F to 2F. That’s a big difference. Momma always said cover the head, cover the chest and have good shoes/boots during winter. If you take care of those things the winter isn’t so awful. But yeah, that’s a lot of ice. Even what looks like water is clear ice.
  22. I didn’t watch more than a bit of that interview. It was not well done by the interviewer but, did he actually respond that way? If so, that’s a great answer. I will probably watch it, eventually.
