Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
I mean I have no idea what the surgery was. I have no idea when the surgery was (he was dressed out and handed the ball off several times in their spring game). It could have been an outpatient exploratory surgery to assess the extent of the damage. I would say it's also possible she confused "had surgery" with "going to have surgery". I'm not claiming to be an insider or anything lol. Outside of that single interaction, I don't know shit about Gator football. She made it seem like it was a big deal when she spoke it out loud. It seemed relevant based on the first post I responded to.

Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
no one was supposed to know it happened. My extended family are all Gator fans and we were at their spring game this year. The backup QBs girlfriend was in the box with us during the game and let it slip. She realized she fucked up and asked us not to say anything but fuck that. I don't think Lagway is going to survive long this season and while the backup is a great kid off the field, it's going to be a long season for that team if he has any meaningful playing time.

I don't think it's been talked about by anyone but he got surgery recently. To keep up the charade he played 5-6 snaps in the spring game and every one was a hand off edit: looks like they're soft launching the surgery idea even though it's already happened: https://www.essentiallysports.com/ncaa-college-football-news-dj-lagways-injury-saga-takes-new-turn-as-potential-surgery-confirmed-adding-to-billy-napiers-florida-woes/

2025 Texas Coaching/Support Staff Thread
Isn't Duane considered an elite teacher of DB mechanics? I get that he's a man coverage guy but in the era of unlimited coaches, the strategy is to get your younger secondary coach to do the selling and Duane assists when needed. You sell the opportunity to be taught by Duane. If he's focusing on skill development and lets others focus on play within the scheme it seems like a win-win. PK and Nansen haven't given us a reason not to trust them. Maybe this is just me trying to guess motivation and reason but the above seems logical to me. If you have the money for the staff, why not?

Not a single one of them knows what it looks like when you develop a large number of players and they get drafted. They all assume there are issues because their own environment has been a pile of shit for 90 years

NIL Recruiting News Megathread
If there is real thought that the next administration is going to roll back these changes then why does this change what the university is planning to do? Wouldn't it make sense to slowplay stuff while clarity emerges?

Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
fwiw my cousin is a coach at a d2 school up in Connecticut. I was talking with him about the philosophy of taking transfers that are not culture fits and his answer wasn't surprising to me. First, everyone knows what they are getting themselves into when they approach someone who isn't a culture fit. There are no surprises at all. Second every staff has their own risk tolerance. You weigh the potential upside against the potential issues they bring. You don't want to overload any one position coach or side of the ball with culture problems. Sark and his staff made a bet on the potential payoff. If they bust, they bust. If they leave without making everything worse then you've only lost the money it cost to bring them in.

it hasn't been said yet, but it's exactly the kind of hard-hitting analysis that's needed around here. He's not doing it for you or I, he's trying to relate to all of the little kids if you know what I mean

2024 Week 17 - Cotton Bowl CFP Semifinal Texas vs Ohio State
based on the receivers running actual routes I would think it is. It also appears as if wisner misses the hole on the left side if he is just a tad more patient. My guess is he see's the linebacker and decides he doesn't trust the left guard getting to his assignment. 52 even gets upfield and picks up the middle LB too. He hits that hole on the left and it's 8 yards easy.

Quinn could have thrown any of the other three routes but he made that choice. He threw into double coverage far too often. He was pressing

Mercedes and Ferrari both opted out in the first season of "Drive to Survive" not wanting the distraction. When the show became a smash hit they changed their tune for the marketing exposure. I don't know what we would stand to gain from a brand exposure perspective here in the US. Best decision was to remove the distraction- 2024 Playoffs Round 1: Clemson at Texas

There is a difference between playing against an offense to which you have no film on while making shit up on the fly, and being ready for a QB run-heavy offense. Mobile QBs haven't had any real success against this defense.- Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
