  1. Jesco is a good guess
  2. Those community numbers become impossible to keep out of the school at a certain point. Up until December we were doing well. When the Travis county numbers got over 300 a day it became common for community members we knew to have it. When it got over 400 it was in the school with students and staff testing positive. It’s over 500 most days now.
  3. Wife just got the email from her principal. She's really upset about it. Yep, managing the emotions of working in this environment is the toughest part of the job right now. We had students and staff test positive in December so there is a lot of fear/anxiety about going back.
  4. Do you get negative points for people over 100?
  5. I had him in 2020 and it was a waste of a spot.
  6. Who is winning this thing? I doubt John Lewis and Trebek have me anywhere near the top.
  7. News is talking refrigerated trucks for bodies again.
  8. I think you are only allowed a golf clap if it happens. Proper etiquette and all.
  9. Lamar Odom (11/6/1979) Jerry Sandusky (1/26/1944) Dick Cheney (1/30/1941) Ric Flair (2/25/1949) Charlie Sheen (9/3/1965) Rush Limbaugh (1/12/1951) Hulk Hogan (8/11/1953) Aaron Carter (12/7/1987) Michael J Fox (6/9/1961) 6ix9ine (5/8/1996) Only got John Lewis and Trebek from 2020 and I really liked both of them. All of the fucks I hate keep ticking along.
  10. I’ve been watching some YouTube videos on programs that run in the background on your PC and mine for whatever is most profitable at that moment. It is then converted into Bitcoin then deposited into your wallet (I think). Anybody ever tried it? Seems like you might make a few bucks over time and probably spend that much in electricity. It’s not about getting rich as it is just something interesting to do. Would love to hear some mining stories if anybody has them.
  11. When do we see the spike from all the college kids that killed grandma at Christmas? About Jan second? Hadnt even thought about New Years parties yet. Will mostly be a younger crowd at least.
  12. I’m at the elementary level so I don’t deal with this at all so it’s just a guess. I think it has to do with the risk/reward ratio. This is the last shot at organized sports for many seniors and some are competing for scholarships. JV kids have another opportunity next year so it’s less devastating of a loss. I’m on the side of taking covid very seriously but I would have been crushed for years if I lost my senior year of football. Jv....not so much.
  13. 94% white according to wiki. Nice burb but definitely not “super rich”.
  14. When does the ace-2 expression develop? I’ve seen covid passed among kids 7 and up but nothing in our lower grade levels. In general, I would say that the transition to wearing masks has been non-traumatic for our students. We were preparing a bunch of lessons based on age and largely scraped them because the kids have been awesome. Much harder for the adults, myself included.
  15. My school turned into a covid mess with students and teachers testing positive. I felt very safe most of the semester but when the cases started topping 400 a day in Travis county it became inevitable that it would find its way into the school. We were VERY lucky that the teachers that got sick were on the younger side. Getting people back to work in a mindset where they can do quality work is going to be difficult. If TEA is only going to count virtual minutes as half then going all virtual isn’t an option. It has to be a full closure then tack on the days at the end of the year. Or power through and deal with the covid shit show that ensues. Scared teachers, entire grade levels shut down, positive students and teachers, parents pissed that their kid got covid, parents pissed about having the class shut down, parents pissed we can’t give out medical info about other students, etc. We have all now seen that it can spread in school, even with all the precautions, which ramps up the fear factor even more.
  16. Can somebody DM time the pics? Never kept up with the drama on TOS. What got her banned?
  17. I knew it was going to be high based on how many kids are out at my school due to direct contact with someone who tested positive.
  18. It’s owned by Global Gaming Solutions, which is basically just the Chickasaw Tribe. Horse racing actually got a big boost in the legislative session because there is some alignment between rural/agricultural areas and gambling that republicans can get on board with. Some of the tax money collected on horse related products went to support purses at the tracks and the results were solid before covid hit. Horse racing actually supports a ton of jobs on and off the track and generates a ton of economic activity. If I breed on horse to race, I will easily have 30k in costs before it ever sees the track, and that’s not including a hefty stud fee if it’s well bred. Back on topic, I think that move showed some softening in the legislature on gambling related activities.
  19. Ted Cruz’ dads gonna be pissed
  20. What does this mean? I have zero industry knowledge.
  21. I don’t think they can but I’m pretty sure that some of their stuff makes in down here through friends. Tons of my friends have a stash of edibles from Colorado and California. With Dallas being so close to the border it will be everywhere there, if it isn’t already. They get all the revenue, jobs, and tax money.
  22. As long as it’s not herberts, we’re all good.
