  1. You keep sucking off old white man bernie while he tells minorities what’s good for them.
  2. Very interesting to me that the farthest left of the Democratic Party wants a candidate to mansplain policies instead of listening to a diverse group of people that he actually meets with face to face. I go to a lot of trainings on cultural proficiency and the first thing that always gets brought up is the importance of listening. This is especially true if you are a white male.
  3. I do think it’s an interesting point about who will pick up supporters as people drop out. Won’t be that important for the first few rounds of the primaries but could get interesting after that.
  4. I don’t disagree with your plan, I just don’t know if it serves the biggest need. I’ve worked in a lot of poor schools. The kids were always able to get healthcare when they needed it. The parents had to go sit in an ER to get care if they were just above the cutoff for Medicaid. Obviously that’s about the least cost efficient way to treat a person with a cold. Your plan would certainly paint Republicans in a bad light when they go nuclear on it. But they would, and their supporters would cheer them on, and nothing would change. I know it sounds defeatist but I have watched them do the same to education funding, especially early childhood programs for over a decade now.
  5. Oh noez! He listens to people and hears what issues are important to them instead of just telling them what to think. What a jerk!
  6. lol owned Ok cool, hook em
  7. Medicare for all is very similar to what I would prefer. Everybody has health coverage no matter what. People or employers can add on additional coverage if they want. The money that goes to paying for health insurance now will cover most of the costs but it will be through taxes. I think it should be partly a corporate tax and partly an income tax. Right now, corporations are spending a metric shit ton on purchasing health insurance plans for their employees. This could be great for business even if their taxes go up some.
  8. Yeah, I use the same account for work so I don’t get into it with them. The comment I tweeted today was so harmless that I didn’t even think about somebody being pissed about it. They come across as insane in an aggy way.
  9. I made a polite twitter reply to a Texas reporter about Bernie’s shot at Beto probably having fewer donors than him. Didn’t think much of it and had over 100 notifications when I checked back in a few hours. Bernie bros seem really angry and ready to attack any supporter of another candidate. Not the ones on here, but many on twitter strike me as the type that will sit it out in the general when Bernie’s not the nominee. Also, twitter sucks.
  10. She was not going to be able to obtain health insurance prior to cobra expiring. That’s why we got married when we did. No insurance company would insure her unless they were forced into it by her employer - we called all of them and were laughed at. If the ACA had been around at the time it would have changed our situation drastically.
  11. Of the Democrats on here, I’m far from the most liberal. But, I’m all in with what BT is advocating for on healthcare. The current system is a nightmare for millions of people for all the reasons outlined above. Ill give a personal anecdote. About 12 years ago my now wife was diagnosed with a chronic health condition and was fired from her job for missing work to sort out new doctors, medications, have tests run, etc. She got a new job that allowed her flexibility to figure all of this out as a 23 year old. It didn’t offer any benefits such as health insurance but she had to take it to pay her bills. She got health insurance through cobra....but it was about to expire and her condition would now be considered pre-existing and not covered when she got insurance in the future. This was pre-Obamacare. We got married and I put her on my insurance. Everything about this situation was complicated and difficult to manage for two college educated people. 12 years later she is doing great with her health but has to take days off of work to argue with insurance companies about billing errors, prescription problems, etc. Some of this is probably unavoidable in any system but holy shit if our system isn’t a beating. Her family in England is always shocked at what we have to deal with.
  12. Is “twitter” a language one can speak conversationally? If so, he’s up to 1.
  13. Can Beto close an umbrella?
  14. Dude you have to give more than 50 cents
  15. Beto’s energy and cash could play well in the long run.
  16. I think it’s a benefit because he’s coming off a tough race. It’s not like anybody else in the field would have beat Cruz. Doubtful they would have come as close as Beto or would have engaged so many typical non-voters.
  17. I just want to go on the record as stating I think he wins or at the very least makes a very strong showing. He has some weaknesses to overcome but he has too much going his way to not do well. 1. High energy 2. Connects with people in a genuine way 3. Hard worker 4. Great fundraiser 5. Experienced town hall campaigner 6. Good looking 7. Speaks Spanish 8. Commands an audience when he speaks, even if not polished
  18. Agree with this more than the people that think people are looking for a dem to come out swinging. I think most people want somebody that will restore civility and positivity after 4 years of this shit stain in office. Beto is the most opposite of trump on approach.
  19. He was a big underdog vs Cruz. I think he would be the favorite vs trump.
  20. I thought Betos campaign did a good job of that and mainly focused on turnout. It worked enough for turnout to be way up and almost enough to win.
  21. Presidential election year is a different animal than a midterm. Dems best shot at winning Texas is trump continuing to trump. Add a Beto type on the ticket somewhere and it gets interesting. You would have to be a real sack of shit to vote for trump over anybody, let alone Beto. Unfortunately there are a lot of sacks of shit out there.
  22. Time to fire up the act blue account. I’m going to be a lot poorer $20 at a time.
  23. Nobody in this race will come close to matching his energy level or experience in doing town halls. He will outwork everybody.
  24. Challenged Cruz to two debates in Spanish so I sure hope so.
  25. Do you even cocks not glocks bro?
