  1. Apparently, the new was no self defense instruction allowed for the negligent homicide charge, which is the likely explanation for that guilty verdict, with NG on the other two options.
  2. I think it’s definitely an odd outcome. It was a pretty immediate reaction with the stab. However, video appeared to show that when the defendant fell to the ground, he had the knife out and ready really quick, like maybe already opened in his pocket. ETA: I think it might have been a compromise verdict of some sort.
  3. To clarify, it wasn’t a sucker punch in its purest form. The two had been messaging each other for a week or so challenging each other to a fight. The punch wasn’t from behind when he wasn’t looking. Just two guys jawing back and forth and the victim just off and clocked him when no one was expecting it.
  4. A Belton high school student stabbed and killed another student at a prom party after being sucker punched. Jury came back today and only found him guilty of negligent homicide. Victim was also unarmed. Just sayin’…it’s not always as cut and dry as people want to make it out to be. * I am NOT proclaiming this Frisco case to be self-defense.
  5. Lots of words. Cool. Now post the definition of “fugitive”. Nvm. That term was inserted by you I think and not actually contained within the text of the law that you were “quoting”.
  6. ^ Lots of words. Cool. Now post the definition of “fugitive”.
  7. Same. I forgot where I was and jumped right in. My bad, surly.
  8. Correct. What we need is for them to start losing their jobs and off the charts inflation. Hitting them from every direction.
  9. Do you think they would cheer for inflationary monetary policy given the state of play wrt tariffs and the current CPI numbers/projections?
  10. Why are you just assuming that a good robust study is the objective of the initiative?
  11. Literally nobody gets confined to PRISON while waiting for their trial. They sometimes remain in jail, but not prison. Not that I give a shit, but people yelling with such an attitude while getting basic shit wrong just gets me. That and the whole idea of this group of course.
  12. Where does it say “child trafficking” or “child/children”. PSA for some folks: Human trafficking is a general description of the exploitation of humans for the benefit of another. Doesn’t mean kids, doesn’t mean just transporting and doesn’t mean sex stuff necessarily. They stated that they suspected him of human trafficking, seemingly for transporting unpaid, coerced laborers to some job site, etc. * of course, the stated basis for that belief is simply a bunch of dudes with no ID in a car going far to work somewhere. That’s not much of a smoking gun.
  13. Did you ever explain the “child trafficking” allegation you just threw out there initially? I haven’t even seen that asserted by the WH or right wing propagandists.
  14. Cool. I was specifically replying to the last sentence of Twice’s post, giving an example of something that I think a lot of people would not ordinarily think likely to occur…since it hasn’t before. The only conflating was in your brain.
