  1. Jesus. Now run that type of story with 8-year-old girls. Fuck.
  2. Did I just see that Hot Wheels said to reporters today that "we were ready" for this?
  3. SCOTUS overrides lower court's that temporarily kept Trump from mass firings across government agencies. https://www.cnn.com/2025/07/08/politics/supreme-court-trump-rifs
  4. Umm ... Trump Says He’s Weighing Federal Takeover of Washington, DC https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-07-08/trump-says-he-s-weighing-federal-takeover-of-washington-dc Trump threatens federal takeover of NYC if ‘communist’ Zohran Mamdani wins mayoral race https://nypost.com/2025/07/08/us-news/trump-threatens-federal-takeover-of-nyc-if-communist-mamdani-wins-mayoral-race/
  5. That @realgreggym dickbag last visited Surly on 3/19. Wonder who he re-registered as.
  6. In my particular connection to a little girl who drowned at Mystic on Friday morning, this is true. I was surprised to learn that nugget from my wife on Friday night when I mentioned that Dan Patrick (shiver) might be reaching out to them directly. (Long story.) Some Surly-ite who is down there should do a drive by and see if that cocksmoker's house was flooded or not.
  7. Totally not sundowning. Not at all.
  8. Oh, we’re back? Here’s Ted Cruz for ya:
  9. Yep, give me incompetent every day of the week and twice on Sunday with regard to Trump 2.0.
  10. Isn't Rollins the one who got Trump's ear and got him to second-guess the deportation of immigrants working in restaurants, hotels and on farms? He quickly said they were exempt and then Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem hit the roof?
  11. He was never gonna let the Epstein files out because he’s all over them. I think they thought they could get away with that lame release a few months ago and that would be that.
  12. As I said on one of these threads on Saturday, Ed Lavandera is a good friend. He’s done some excellent work on this. Texas Ex who lives in Lakewood.
  13. Alex Jones is having a day. HED: ‘I’m Gonna Go Throw Up’: Alex Jones Breaks Down in Tears While Condemning Trump Over Epstein ‘Cover-Up’ https://www.mediaite.com/media/news/im-gonna-go-throw-up-alex-jones-breaks-down-in-tears-while-condemning-trump-over-epstein-cover-up/
  14. June, July, whatever it takes.
  15. Many more than two. I think all the elementary schools (five) do as well. The block where our friends live who lost their daughter is adorned with pink ribbons.
  16. Some dipshit reporter just asked the Kerrville City Manager to address speculation that this event was perhaps man-involved weather modification with rain-maker tech for farmland or some such idiocy.
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong but there has been basically ZERO news shared during this stupid PC.
  18. Ted Cruz postulating at the PC right now. What a fucking tool.
  19. That IS weird. I agree with that.
  20. Actor Mark Ruffalo blasts Rogan for being late to call mass deportations insane https://www.mediaite.com/media/news/a-little-late-mark-ruffalo-torches-joe-rogan-over-outrage-at-insane-ice-deportations/
  21. I don't think it's weird per se. I hate to paint with a very large brush but think about the demographics. There aren't any poor kids going to Mystic or Waldemar or any of the other summer camps that have waiting lists, interviews and acceptance ceremonies (Mystic has all of those, I believe). FF to when these kids have kids of their own. Their daughters MUST go to Mystic, which is still revered by these mothers who are in their 20's, 30's or 40's. You probably have a better chance if you're somewhat active in the camp's recruitment activities, etc, just like in many other organizations. Sounds like there's room for 750 or so campers per session. Anyway, many of these women do not work (again, broad brush) as they're full-time raising children (with or without help). This is something for them to do to stay active or engaged with other similar demographic peers and so on. I don't think any of that is particularly weird. As mentioned earlier, my best friend from HS (may he RIP) met his future wife while working in the camp kitchen several summers. She was a former camper and was at time the equestrian instructor. They had four girls and every year, even before the girls were even old enough to attend would go up to Mystic and visit. I think they even stayed there some of the time when camp wasn't in session. The couple who own the camp and perished on Friday morning were revered by just about anyone who ever had reason to cross paths with Camp Mystic.
