  1. That Evander Kane is a colossal prick
  2. Oops you're right. No NHL overlap.

  4. I'm sure TV wants it then for the time slot. I think Florida-Carolina play that night. The national network likely wants McDavid/Draisaitl. (I do think it could give us an advantage in an environment that might be slightly less hostile than it otherwise might.)
  5. I don't even know what this means. LOL The movie is entertaining and Val Kilmer (RIP) did a great job IMO. "Heroin" is an all-time great song and the Velvet Underground was a far better band than the Doors. I loved the Doors in HS and I like them today. I hardly ever listen to them willingly on Spotify but it gives me a nice sense of nostalgia every time a Doors' song comes on.
  6. Gives those crazy Canucks less time to "get in the spirit." Plus, the bloggers are bemoaning their record is such matinee games. Oh well, them's the breaks. I seem to recall the Stars having some afternoon playoff games at AAC the past few years. If they'd played better in the regular season, maybe they could've amassed enough points to have home ice in this series but they didn't, so they don't.
  7. The same article at The Athletic that showed that said Flagg measured about the same in socks. Duke listed him at 6-9. Guess the shoes give you an inch or so. At any rate, I found it interesting. Bailey has some nice tools and if he's really 6-10, even more so. I want us to take Harper or trade the pick for something like Giannis.
  8. OK, that got me. Gettin' a little dusty in here. Cheers was my all-time favorite show until Seinfeld came along. But Cheers was first. Our HS senior song was the theme song from Cheers.
  9. Edmonton fans are getting pissy about Game 3’s matinee start.
  10. Noem was more out of place than Paul Dooley in Strange Brew.

  12. Ace Bailey, listed at 6-10 all season, measured 6-7 1/2 in socks at the combine.

  16. Five of the top six Stars are our Finns. That chart also says that Duchene is playing well but just not putting the puck in the net. Hopefully, that dam breaks soon! Three
  17. Would they make change if Pickard was healthy today? Skinner has back-to-back shutouts.
  18. I wasn't paying close enough attention to the Oilers/Vegas series. I didn't realize Pickard was hurt. Is that the only reason they put Skinner back in net or did they go back to Skinner with Pickard available?
  19. Lot of truth there. And our blue line was in shambles by the time we got to the Oilers series. I wonder how much longer we go with the 11-7 configuration. Remember we basically played five D-men in the first two rounds last year, then threw Petrovic into the fray vs Edmonton *while* asking Miro to play nearly 30 mins per game chasing McDavid/Draisaitl around.
  20. They've got him Chris Chris-ing around the Arab world cutting deals, right? Or is that strictly Eric's job?

  23. We got back from Kilby later than expected last night. Saw some good stuff Thursday-Saturday. The highlight of the festival was New Order, who closed Thursday night. (Kilby is normally a Friday-Sunday affair but the only night New Order could play was Thursday so they added an extra day!) What a show. The gang led off with two or three Joy Division songs, including "Transmission" to start it all off. Then they busted into my favorite album (Power, Corruption & Lies) for "Age of Consent" and "Your Silent Face." I'm no a huge Killers fan but Brandon Flowers (lead singer) joined NO onstage for "Bizarre Love Triangle." (Apparently, Flowers lives in Park City and idolizes NO.) We saw parts or all of sets for: Yo La Tengo Future Islands Devo New Order Perfume Genius Momma Built to Spill Car Seat Headrest Vacations Slowdive Youth Lagoon Rilo Kiley Beach House Jelani Aryeh SASAMI Toro y Moi St. Vincent Weezer I think our favorite sets were New Order, Perfume Genius, Rilo Kiley, Beach House and St. Vincent. I'm head-over-heels in love with Annie Clark (too bad she plays shortstop for the other team). Jenny Lewis is another hall pass for me.
