Nice. She's a gamer, man. Good on her. Can't coach that. Grinding. Groveling. Playing with desperation. Just wearing the other team down. Going after every ball, even when your brain is telling you you have no realistic chance to touch it. Sometimes you surprise yourself. Moments like that were the reason I played volleyball & baseball. It's all about that W.
That play was what turned the 5th in our favor imho. Crazy how much indoor volleyball swings on momentum. That was a huge emotional boost and a bonding moment for the team that imho we'll probably look back at many times throughout the development of this team over the course of the season.
Yeah that was the impression I got from her all last year. I kinda thought maybe being the poster child for women's college volleyball was weighing pretty heavy around her neck.
Yeah imho 100% the setter situation last year was a big mistake by Elliott & potentially cost us a shot at another title (as we were saying pretty much throughout the season). Love what I'm seeing this year though.
Text from a friend a little while ago ... " You know, a few months ago someone told me that Epstein wants to turn COTA into a Gaylord-type property. Bless his heart ... "
Yeah I've said from the beginning when he started off on all these tangents: It's a race track. Just focus on having the best racing facility you can, with as much great racing as you can host, with the best racing fan experience possible, and sit back and watch all that money flow in.
It's not rocket surgery.
Yeah I didn't really see that as a 'benching' either. they were doing the same in the other sets, too, but Ella would always come back in. Weren't they just taking Ella out when she was heading to the back row & wouldn't be a factor in the block?
Yeah every time I started to complain about the setting today, I remembered how crazy the passing was. It wasn't our best day passing the ball, to put it nicely.
Yeah, we were there. I was thinking the same thing. Crowd really, really brought the noise and made it a bit tougher on Tree there in the 5th. Loud AF.
Got damn, that was fun.
Man, anyone who watches that clip above & thinks Arch doesn't look hurt, I dunno what to tell you.
Is he hurt bad enough or in an area where he's risking more damage by playing? No way for us to know. But it's pretty evident to me that he's dealing with a physical problem that's limiting his throwing ability. He did mostly do better today than a week ago, so who knows? Maybe it's improving somewhat. We'll see.
