  1. Oh yeah, I think all the teams had more expensive ones. The $90 caps were the starting point.
  2. That look on LeClerc's face ... looking up at the crowd like "WTF? Why are there so many people cheering?"
  3. Yeah it really is, and Bobby spreads so much misinformation to idiot reporters who just print anything he tells them as gospel. Even The Athletic has a piece about COTA this morning. To her credit, the author talks a good bit about the bumps, but in there she says the track was "fully resurfaced" the winter of 2021-22. It's never been fully resurfaced. The most that's ever been done is 40% at a time, and a big chunk has never been done at all. It's a half-assed, low bid, patchwork mess.
  4. Yeah and at least 3 of those were very tough takes, too.
  5. LOL. Nah, it just stuck out to me, because it can be taken two ways, and I wondered which way he meant it. Was he disgusted at Rangers fans for letting it happen, or was he disgusted by Astros fans for being there? I have no idea.
  6. Initially, I thought it was a no-doubter. Been misjudging balls off the bat all three games at MMP-N. Then when it barely cleared the wall, I thought it had been caught. Then we saw that it was a HR. The emotional rollercoaster was like an aggy football season compressed into about 5 seconds, except with a good result instead of the usual aggy ending.
  7. Man, this is so spot on. Garcia & Puig can eabod together.
  8. I'll be there tomorrow night. I'd be shocked if the home crowd doesn't start an ironic chant like that all on its own.
  9. Yeah I said it before the series started, and I'll say it again ... I almost feel sorry for Rangers fans having to have him on their side. Almost.
  10. LOL. Crazy how loud Arlington Stadium Globe Life Field MinuteMaid North got when he hit that.
  11. I'm watching FP1 now to see all the stuff I missed sitting at T9 most of the day. Got damn, the bumps are worse than I even thought they'd be. The onboards are brutal. Ant just said the hottest/toughest race he ever drove was that 2014 WEC race at COTA. I was there, and yeah it was hot AF. He said it was hotter than today, but it wasn't by much. It was 100 during Q3. I took Mopac north to 290 east to 71 east, and when I got to Ben White, Abbott's fucking convoy got there just seconds before I did. Probably 20 LE cars of various types and agencies, couple suburbans, a large, very expensive RV, and a black Lambo SUV that I'm not sure was really with them, but he sure acted like he was. What a bunch of absolute morons. Couldn't get on the same page, taking up two or 3 lanes, blasting through, weaving, slowing down randomly, not able to figure out which lane to take when they got to the toll by ABIA, etc. They were causing near-misses all over the place. Hell, for all I know, they did cause some accidents. Complete and utter clown show.
  12. So a couple of days ago I saw a post by someone who said they'd read that AM's COTA sims had them 9th quickest. Got damn if they weren't spot on. So yeah, this probably isn't the best place for this car to shine. I was hoping AM would take my question I had for Fernando, but instead they took the one I had for Krack. I asked him how he thought the rough track would affect the weekend. He thought it would be huge and had a long answer, but something that stuck out for me was when he said that in terms of durability in the design process, they just design the car to withstand COTA's bumps. He said if they can achieve that, then they know the car is strong enough to handle any track on the calendar. Yeah, so many people never even bother to go to the east side of the track. That's where you can see F1 cars do what F1 cars do best, and they're missing it. Oh well. Oh that reminds me, they were telling everyone at the gates that metal containers were not allowed. When I heard that, I immediately stuffed mine down in my backpack. When I approached the metal detector, they said we need our bags open, so I opened it. Went through the detector with a Yeti cup and a Hydroflask bottle, my keys, and my phone, and it didn't alarm. Then I expected them to search my bag, but nobody said shit, so I kept walking. They barely even scanned my ticket, and missed people left and right. And yeah I ran out of water and looked for a water station & never could find one.
  13. I told my kid in the 8th that in the 9th they'd pinch-hit Yainer and Tuve would win it .... so yeah. I got that going for me ... which is nice.
  14. Holy fuck. I told my kid this was gonna happen, then it happened. He jumped up and hi-fived me, missed my hand & knocked my glasses off my head & across the room. Phones ringing like crazy. Complete bedlam.
  15. Seriously, it's just unbelievable.
  16. Seriously wtf, tossing the P on the first HBP in the game? Holy shit. And Smoltz is such a blowhard dumbfuck.
  17. OK that's bullshit. That should be a warning.
