  1. What the average ENM/polycule members look like
  2. the glory days of the internet are dead and gone
  3. I work for an emergency comms company so I am deeply familiar with this world. If you are looking to send to just a handful of folks and only via text, something basic like text-em-all is probably all you really need.
  4. Some decently heavy stuff right where it’s been needed most (Boerne to Burnet)
  5. might've just been concussed...
  6. Honestly, I thought the defense played pretty well at first glance. There were no coverage busts and hardly any soft coverage giving up easy 10 yard outs. The deep shots were all absolute dimes by an NFL starter level QB. We generated decent pressure I thought as well. Against any other QB that doesn't have the elite pocket presence and quick release that Penix has, we would've had half a dozen sacks. Maybe I'm being too soft on PK, but I think this was a case of solid defense being beat by elite offense.
  7. yeah my thoughts as well. Have we ever seen him throw a ball with the speed and trajectory as Penix's 2nd quarter dart between the safeties? I have never seen him throw a fastball. It's weird that he can comfortably throw it 60+ yards but also not appear to be able (or at least never tries) to throw a frozen rope. Might be his low throwing mechanics.
  8. Renewables and batteries have improved greatly, as well I do suppose
  9. What technological breakthrough has there been in the past twenty years that has markedly improved daily life? I’m sure there are medical treatments that have gotten much better, but otherwise I struggle to think of any. Is my life really better by having the internet in my hands at all times, leaving me with the attention span of a goldfish? Social media we know conclusively is bad for society. Has data analytics done anything except reduce everything I like into a number and taking away any human touch? Will machine learning/AI do anything but allow companies to do things more efficiently at the expense of human interaction? I find myself slowly turning into Ted Kaczynski, minus the whole sending bombs in the mail part. The galling part is that I work in software…oh well it pays the bills.
  10. The meter is all over the place
  11. right that was what I meant. That is good to hear.
  12. what does a 75 bps cut translate to for avg 30 year rate?
  13. Heh, distant relatives of mine
  14. I don’t think I want the kid from Marfa
  15. This is my go to excuse with the wife
  16. gurt

    Bert!

He’s gotta be odds on favorite to be 1st team all conference.
  17. Don’t forget E-Stew
  18. I'm not saying he won't get better or that he's a bust, I'm just saying he isn't going to become a guy that makes people miss. He just doesn't have the hips for it. Anyways, this isn't really the thread for this so I'll stop belaboring the point.
  19. Not what I said, but whatever. You could tell the agility and balance that Bijan or JB had when they were freshman. Baxter is never going to be that type of runner. He might be more effective when he is healthy and adds more strength and size, but he has limited ability when it comes to making a man miss and that won't change.
  20. Not really. You pretty much are what you are for most qualities at running back, especially when it is an instinctual quality. IOW, Baxter is who he is. He might get stronger and be able to run through arm tackles better, but he is not going to suddenly have the balance and agility that Bijan or Brooks have.
  21. They had much more success running the ball when we were subbing in Broughton, Carter and Finkley. The backups were worse, shocking I know. But it does make me question why we were doing such wholesale substitutions. I can see Sweat needing to be spelled, but did we have to also take out Sorrell and Murphy at the same time? I think this speaks to our complacency when we think we have a game in the bag.
  22. yeah he still had some ugly ducks, the pick and a couple over the middle to Mitchell. Granted, Mitchell quit on them but they were not what I would call NFL quality
  23. Could someone explain how things work when you have a passing game coordinator that isn't the DC? Is PK only calling what the front 6/7 are doing on a given play and the secondary is instructed by Joseph? If PK calls for a blitzing LB is it up to Joseph to set the coverage based off of that?
  24. We really stopped getting pressure in the second half, we seemed to stop bringing any blitzes and tried to cover our way to the end of the game. Don’t know why, after so many examples to the contrary, we would go away from bringing pressure. On a related note, we really haven’t gotten consistent pressure with just the DL as the season as worn on, especially from the edge. Burke has had some good moments but Sorrell hasn’t really taken the next step like I thought he would. For the D to truly become dominant we need to be able to pressure the QB with just the front four.
