  1. What is interesting about it is that it doesn't seem to be pandemic driven, at least not primarily. Other countries saw a decrease of violent crime in 2020 while ours shot up. Certainly there is an aspect of policing reform at play here in the wake of the George Floyd murder. Whether it is actually due to policy or funding changes, a reaction by police forces to what they perceive as widespread hostility (some real, some imagined) or something that was going to happen regardless is hard to tell.
  2. Thanks for the reply. Yes, I need to really set aside time to learn mindfulness. I seem to apply any bad experiences in the past to the future. Like how bad things went with my previous company, and leaving to another that ended up being a really bad fit (they didn't tell me there would be travel involved in the interview process which is a no-go for my wife). Now I am at a good company that is growing a lot and has a lot of opportunity to grow but I just keep expecting things to go bad like they have in the past. Like I can't just live in the present. Anyways, I'm glad to be able to talk about mental issues here, especially in a predominantly male space as it can feel a bit isolating dealing with anxiety as a man.
  3. Unless I am misunderstanding you, it does sound like you could use a fitting to get them sized down if they are just standard length men’s clubs. Off the rack is generally for a 5’9” man so shortening them an inch or so could definitely help.
  4. Are your irons an off the rack women’s set?
  5. Does anybody else always fear the worst? I find myself fearing the future all the time, just waiting for the other shoe to drop. I had some bad experiences with work earlier this year and finally find myself at a good place as of November. It has been nothing but good so far but I still catastrophize all the time. “What if these people quit? What if they ask me to do things I don’t know how to do/can handle?” Its exhausting and I can’t seem to just exist in the moment and not have anxiety about the future.
  6. Is this the year I make it into the 70s? Let's check the magic 8 ball
  7. The Economist reported exactly this recently: https://www.economist.com/united-states/2021/11/27/ivermectin-may-help-covid-19-patients-but-only-those-with-worms
  8. Damn dude, maybe get off the internet for a while.
  9. this CEO seems like he has more than a few screws loose: https://www.inc.com/jason-aten/the-ceo-who-fired-900-employees-on-a-zoom-call-is-out-its-a-tragic-example-of-how-not-to-manage-people.html
  10. Gone silent might just mean a teenager is tired of getting 20 texts a day from weird grown men...
  11. Yeah its a damn shame. What was once so pure and free of corruption...
  12. Question for those involved: How did y'all land on TE for Burnt Ends and OL for HWH? Their general suckitude for the last decade?
  13. that might be the dumbest Ian Boyd article yet, which is really saying something
  14. I use CBD for sleep and anxiety and have found it to be very effective. I take the tincture and do a 25mg dropper at bedtime and occasional half droppers during the day if I’m stressed out.
  15. Don’t get me wrong, it’s more important to get better starting pitching. But a good amount of the time we were scoring on station to station hitting, which is hard to maintain. That’s why I hope we go after Story or Semien to replace Correa.
  16. Which we saw in some of the games in the WS, getting on base with a bunch of singles, but not able to score them
  17. Anybody else kinda worried about not having more power in the line up? Brantley and Gurriel are already seeing drops in their power and I don't feel like any of the young (outside of Tucker) outfielders are gonna be more than around league avg slugging. Bregman has been avg to below avg the last couple seasons. It puts all the pressure on Yordan and Tuck to drive in runs, especially if we don't replace Correa with a plus batter.
  18. so THIS is where all the horny singles in my area have been hanging out
  19. welp, shoulda sold SHIB when I had the chance...I guess I'll just hold it and wait to see if it rebounds
  20. Are building costs coming down at all lately? I know lumber has started to fall back after the craziness of the first part of the year, but has that made its way back to the consumer yet? We are thinking of doing a screened in porch on the house but wondering if we should wait a bit more to let things normalize...or is that a fantasy at this point?
