  1. Similar story for our place in Driftwood. 5-10 miles north is all 4"+ while the ranch is at around 1.5". Tanks are all bone dry.
  2. yeah that looks like an injury waiting to happen
  3. hydromet.lcra.org is down...what does this mean?
  4. just reading the glassdoor reviews of his company is enough to know he isn't as virtuous as he portrays himself. He seems to be positioning himself for politics...these allegations should help in that regard.
  5. Fwiw, I don’t think he was saying texass, his tweet says TEXASSSS. I think he was just drawing out the last syllable for effect.
  6. raining in Buda again
  7. 2 and a quarter here in Buda
  8. you'll need to show your math on this one. Its more like 500 a month, or more.
  9. It’s not
  10. it seems like it is going around at a much higher rate than ever before. So many people, myself included, have had it in the last few weeks. One of my direct reports just got it yesterday.
  11. I got it for the first time (I think). Started feeling bad on Friday, then had a buddy who I saw on Tuesday say he tested positive. I immediately took a home test and came back negative, took another the next day and still negative. Meanwhile we are moving into a new house during all this, couldn’t come at a more inconvenient time. Nothing like moving mattresses in the triple digits while feeling like crap. Finally tested positive today. Overall it has just felt like a severe and long lasting cold, like others have said.
  12. I was the one in the small neighborhood he advised to buy. It messed up the loan we initially tried to get in on, but we will most likely circle back to that at a later date when our appraisal catches up to reality. Just wanted to publically thank Gabe (Wulaw) and his team for his guidance through this crazy process. His insight and ingenuity really helped us make a difficult situation that we feel good About now. We’ve just moved in and are happy we made this decision. Side note: moving while it’s 102 out and you have Covid is not so fun.
  13. What kind of business are you running? I’ve had the opposite experience managing remote teams in tech. Granted I’m just a middle manager, but the people that sucked in office sucked at home and the people who did well in office did well at home. And I can crack the whip virtually just as easily at home as I can in office.
  14. Anybody looking for last minute tickets to the game tonight? I came down Covid so can’t go. Asking for 25 each on 1st base line. Shoot me a DM if interested.
  15. I have two tickets for tomorrow available, section R3
  16. that had to be premeditated-that he kills his grandma and goes over to the school. No way that would just pop into his head in the moment, right?
  17. that lady should've just respected the dog before it ate her face off. The dog knew she lacked moral fiber!
  18. yeah, I mean ideally I wouldn't have sold but we aren't in any position to pull off buying without the cash from the sale. But your point is well taken.
  19. wow, thanks for the response. That makes a ton of sense, and definitely clarifies my thinking.
  20. Looking for some input from the in-the-know crowd here. My wife and I sold our starter home in Austin last month, made nearly double on it in 5 years. Hooray. We sold in order to a) get more space as we are looking to start having kids and b) get closer to my in-laws as my FIL has MD and they need some help with day to day tasks. We have been looking in the Buda area, west of 35. But even that area is getting insane, with houses finishing 60-75k over asking (ending up at 625 or so). Part of me is thinking, is this all too much? Is this really where things are going to stay, or are we heading towards a bubble? I have considered just renting in the area and seeing how things play out but I also know that interest rates are only going up and I might just be kicking myself if this isn't a bubble situation. Thoughts on the situation?
  21. Lol Maalik is Vince-like? He’s the most pure of a pocket passer on the team.
  22. Big surprise, the lawyers turned this into a law school discussion 😉 In my experience being in tech, where you went to school matters at lot less than other fields. It probably matters at the FAANG level perhaps, but for example our software architect and principal engineer both went to no name schools in the midwest. Perhaps it is because it requires a more demonstrable skillset than others. If you can prove you know how to code at a high level, no one cares where you learned it. Just my observations.
  23. Why go to an expensive school if you’re just going into biz dev? Shoot, don’t even need a degree to do that
