  1. Congratulations. very few things are better in life than seeing things go well for your kids, especially that type of situation.
  2. I like the ladder bracket. You earned it during the reg season. It makes more sense than conference tourneys do.
  3. Tyler's in Amarillo on Thursday only for Green Chile Mac & Cheese( bacon and reg also available. Got thrown a curveball because they let you pick a dessert as a side. No bread pudding because a recipe takes a dozen eggs and made it way more expensive than the others. So I got green beans, which are a great consolation prize. That's enough about sides. The fatty brisket is freaking perfect and the peppercorn sausage is my favorite non- traditional cen-tex ring link. Great lunch today!!!
  4. Should have used TurboTax!* *not really
  5. Hershel played 11 games for the Vikings following that midseason trade. AD ain't gonna make that this season is he?
  6. Wife deadpans to me while watching video: At least they knew she didn't have a weapon.😀
  7. Is the "Can you help me" forum too open? Are you trying to limit exposure of your info/ discussion? It's been my experience that if you post a question in there, you'll typically get some razzing and funny comments; but Surly also delivers on the counsel and advice. We are fuck ups, and in fucking up, you gain a lot of experience.
  8. See also: More fucked up math on TV ad last night for local car dealer: 4.9% financing, which in and of itself hurt my head; but then they throw 84 months out there like it's a feature, not a rip-off. I guess the poker adage applies here, "It's immoral to let a sucker keep his money."
  9. My first thought at the new stadium discussion was to move their sorry asses back in the Astrodome. Maybe just the front office. The players didn't do anything to deserve it. It's dumb as hell that it is still standing.
  10. Combination of the thread title and this article drove my response with the facts/ numbers. As for the rest, you are not alone...
  11. I am not confused. The gatekeeper posters are. My posts were and are relevant. I posted a factual comparison with SoCal and Texas and people let their political leanings drive their responses. Cannot have a discussion here. Everything is rooted in fear and evil. If you don't embrace those, you are somehow a threat. What the fuck ever.
  12. I'm so glad the typical idiots are here to correct me. Potentially "historic wildfire conditions" Tuesday. Not in Southern California...
  13. Now compare it with population density, higher winds, and drier conditions in SoCal. I didn't say there wasn't risk in Texas, but also didn't make the thread title either. Typical surly bullshit, "This is gonna be way worser than Cali!"
  14. LOLz. Overreact much? Of course you do. I simply posted facts in the post drawing chopper's reaction. If we are qualifying our outrage or feelings though, I have a son/ DIL who live in Burbank, basically triangulated by wildfires; but I didn't feel it was relevant in the discussion, nor is your BIL's situation more dire.
  15. Sharing perspective is dumb as hell, right? I know should hate Texas more... The premise of the thread is false, or at a minimum, grossly misstated.
  16. Are giddy at Valley Ranch not tripping over their own dicks to sign a player? SMDH. That's not really cause for celebration. It's more amazing that they didn't further hamstring the organization for once.
  17. That heifer had it coming.
  18. Now do number of human deaths or $'s in property damage. The Texas numbers are greatly driven by the range fires like the Smokehouse last March in the Panhandle, which torched over 1655 square miles/ 1MM acres. 2 People died as did over 7000 cattle. Rhode Island is 1545 square miles, for comparison. The adjacent "Windy Deuce" fire burned 144k acres. A third fire, the GrapeVine Creek event SE of Pampa was the little guy at 34, 882 acres burned. The California fires were a series of 14 blazes around the LA metro and south to San Diego County that consumed 5700 acres, 18000 homes and structures, and killed 29 people.
  19. Back in May did some work in Stephens Point. Went to the brewery. Their beer was available at the main restaurants, and I favored the bock. That was a good local beer.
  20. Ain't no shame in a stroll down memory lane.
  21. Outside the spirit of this thread, I'd appreciate the opportunity to buy you an $18 beer at an Astros game some day.
  22. What'd the kiddo think of Eyes Wide Shut? Stuff that chimney!!!
