  9. "This broccoli( Knots Landing in Space) is not what I ordered at Franklin( Andor under the Star Wars banner.)" "Shut up and enjoy your broccoli. We never get this stuff here. You children only want brisket. It's so sophisticated to eat broccoli." "The sign out front says Franklin..." "why are people bitching about broccoli as the main course at a BBQ restaurant?"

  11. The term became widespread after an NFL playoff game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Vikings on December 28, 1975 (see Cowboys–Vikings rivalry), when Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach (a devout Catholic) said about his game-winning touchdown pass to wide receiver Drew Pearson, "I closed my eyes and said a Hail Mary."[2]
  12. Family get together, just shooting the shit, and the question is asked to me, lifer in the industry, and my youngest son, who worked at HEB through high school and early college; who are the rudest people? Both of us, simultaneously, "Old white ladies!" The have no fucks to give, will run your ass over with the carts, and generally will Karen your ass off for the most innane, inconsequential bullshit.

  19. Mother's Day ads just hit different after your mom dies( january.) Not a bad thing, or painful. Just not the same any more.
  20. You are not wrong, except that Property taxes work the exact same way. Who would have ever thought you could subscribe to an annual service to dispute your evaluation? Why can't we just do it correctly in the first place?
  21. same here. I am 15 years removed from our boys playing youth sports; but that blows my mind. I drink plenty, but I would not do it in those venues. I'm old( and respectful) though. Having had a few friends whose kids went on to play in college, after playing the select circuits growing up, I have witnessed it being a good experience for the kids; but holy shit there are some freaking psycho parents. That goes along with almost any other activities though too. I have a friend whose son is currently in that select age, can pitch and hit with power- and if other coaches find out he's available on a weekend, my buddy's phone is lighting up. I tease him that his boy needs to sign some NIL deals.
  22. Marfa to Fair Park. That's just a 522 mile commute...
