  1. I seriously doubt they are going to jam up the tourists during those holidays. They will likely hold a large percentage of day passes for the tourists. I'm not worried.
  2. Yeah there's waaaaay too much great bourbon out of Kentucky for me to shell out that kind of cash on mediocre Texas bourbon. Found this guy yesterday. Mighty tasty.
  3. Purty good. Paired with a hatch chile twice baked potato from Central Mkt.
  4. Found a local butcher, supposedly raises his own cows. Let's see if they turn out.
  5. What's the flavor profile of EHT? More Rye or wheat? What does it compare to?
  6. Just scored another bottle of GTS today. Paid tater price but I don't care. Add that to 3 bottles of Bookers, and 2 Rebel Yell 10s and I'm up to 50ish bottles of bourbon. My wife said I have a problem.
  7. I have been really enjoying this RR SiB store pick. It is 110 proof, and damn good. Great nose as well.
  8. I have both in Store Pick. Need to do a side by side blind and see.
  9. Ceramic coat? Or not? Thoughts?
  10. Nice. Where can this Hancock's be found?
  11. This Weller drop madness is similar to a powder day when you are snow skiing. You hear rumors of a rope drop, you make your way over and hope to get the goods. Same chase of the thrill.
  12. I'm on 184s as well. I think about dropping down, especially when skiing with the kiddos, but I like to go too fast when I'm solo and like the stability of the longer ski.
  13. 2020 skis are on clearance across the board. Snagged some Volkl Mantra 102s for $500 and change. Last set of Mantras (2014) gave me 6 seasons and about 30 days. Cost per day was around $20. Totally worth it to buy your own vs. renting. Payback is about 3 seasons.
  14. The Frio sucks. Leakey especially. The Guadalupe is sooooo much better, not even close.
  15. Cracked a Russell's Reserve store pick private barrel. Damn good. A little heat, but man way more flavor than the lower proof stuff I've been drinking.
  16. That's like number 8 on the list of bottles for me to try. I'll open it once college football starts....
  17. Picked up a bottle today at Liquor King in Lewisville. Said it arrived today. Nice little store. Lots of Four Roses products, and a lot of small, craft bourbon not found in the big chains.
  18. I have 2 bottles of each. I need to run a Pepsi challenge on them blind.
  19. Picked up a bottle of Knob Creek 14 year old Longhorn. Really like it, went back and bought 3 more bottles.
  20. It's because they are just simply guessing at this time. Bunch of hypotheses but no way to isolate variables to get a true scientific answer.
  21. For whatever reason, this Redemption Wheated just gets better every time I drink it. I'm halfway through my bottle, so went back and grabbed 2 more bottles today. Really good stuff.
  22. If history holds true, there will be a response to the Marxist/communist violence. And it will likely be groups of far, far right people that start rounding up agitators, and taking things into their own hands. If the Marxists can't self police, and the local governments don't keep them in check, then it falls to the feds to intervene. If that is rejected, history shows us the ensuing response will not be favorable to the Marxists. Examples abound in Central America and Eastern Europe post WWII. Pick your poison. Be careful what you wish for.
  23. Vanilla smell. Also butterscotch. Taste is hazelnut. Finish of black pepper.
