  1. If San Antonio had a best case scenario regarding their stadiums and potential pro franchises, this is what they should do. 1) If they had an iron clad guarantee an MLB team was going to move or start from scratch in San Antonio, they should tear down the Alamodome and locate an MLB Park in it's place. See Petco Field in San Diego for something that would work there. 2) The Alamodome replacement could go out towards UTSA around the La Cantera / Fiesta Texas area. Nothing wrong with NFL quality stadiums being built away from city centers as we see with a number of pro teams. I'm not certain I'd go all in with a domed stadium though. Does this get SA an NFL team? Who knows? But it gives them a better shot than they have right now. Plus it's closer to UTSA and the student fan base and a good chunk of SA that has disposable income for entertainment.
  2. It was built in the early 90's (planning probably started earlier than that) way before Jerry built AT&T and it became the standard for NFL stadiums. I wouldn't say it was dated as soon as it was completed. Plenty of NFL teams played in much older venues and non football friendly ones at that until the 2000's and later. See the Oakland Coliseum, Metrodome, the former dump in Philly, etc for examples. I don't think the NFL became such a big advocate or demanded bling for stadiums until Goodell became Commish and like so many things he's touched it ends up being a screw job for someone else. That's not to say the road for these taxpayer funded gifts to NFL billionaires and the such would not be a thing right now. But who knows it might not have forced some teams to try to move the populations of NFL cites to finance a new one or lose their teams via a threat.
  3. Officials are going to screw us bad this season. There will be some Okie State 2015/2022 like crap I’m certain in at least one game. Especially if it’s a game where we find ourselves on a roll and real possibility to make the Big 12 title game.
  4. I've seen a number down here in my neck of the woods. The new Tahoes/Yukons/Esclades still beat out the Grand Wagoneer though. Same gal type drivers who think they own the damn road. Honestly I think some of them are worse than the short dudes who drive jacked up F-350's.
  5. Can we talk about women who insist their husbands buy them Cadillac Escalades and now $100k Grand Wagoneers and drive them like they own the road?
  6. I guess it's kind of like back in my day in the late 80's and early 90's, the ad in our student newspapers was for summer employment in Alaska. Sounded appealing to escape the 100 + degree heat until they told you'd be fishing and not just for fun.
  7. Can we do this to the Rig 12 Refs when our last game is played in the Rig 12 at DKR? Asking for a friend....
  8. This is infuriating. For what? Maybe two or three games each of the next two seasons on Fox? I'm assuming we are going to be better record wise and have more games pushed to ESPN/ABC for prime time slots.
  9. She could always be BYU's part of the halftime entertainment.
  10. I've read some stuff about Vivint getting in trouble for deceptive trade practices in a few states. The sales guys that came by my home and yes they are always around my neighborhood in June were very nice guys and you could tell they did their tour of duty in the Mission field because they knew how to break the ice before getting to topic. What do they do up there Provo? Advertise the job as a summer job opportunity, give you a Ford Ranger or Nissan Frontier and off to the market they want you selling?
  11. Mack was good at getting in the Refs ears early if he saw some screwy stuff about to go down. Or if he had experience with a particular crew or individual members of a particular crew, he’d start riding them with a really insignificant call and build from there. It’s kind of an art and I think the coach at least in the Big 12 who does a good job of this right now is Sonny Dykes. Charlie and Tom had many opportunities to go ape on the Refs during their tenures, but just stood there and allowed their teams to take it. And unfortunately Sark to date has done the same. I don’t know. It might be a generational thing or something? I think you earn respect from your fan base and players if you show some indignation once in awhile and last years game against Okie State was an opportunity missed by Sark.
  12. They are like to do door to door sales too for home security systems and pest control.
  13. Yep. The NBA kind of let it know back in the 90's when the Spurs started their dynasty it wasn't too happy as it started taking the Lakers and their TV market out of the playoffs/championships. Some funny crap started happening in the NBA Western Conference finals between the Spurs an Lakers in the 2000s that finally made me give up watching the NBA.
  14. Wait, you think the gambling industry is separate from these leagues in terms of manipulating results? Bless your heart. He missed the NBA Ref scandals.
  15. The big money gambling industrial complex is now in bed with the leagues (the four major pro leagues) . It was taboo once upon a time to the point the leagues wouldn't even entertain establishing a franchise in Vegas. If big money gambling is not in bed with the leagues, then they are certainly in bed with the media who wants ratings witnessed by the ad money they spend on the sports networks.
  16. We have more recent example.... Okie State 2022 and 2015 We can argue all day the fact Okie State got zero penalties against us in 2022 was a coincidence. But 2015 there was plenty of evidence something shady was going on. Even when you had Ou Sux and aggy media types and fans in the different forums at the time saying we got screwed with some funny chit, that should be enough proof we are were not seeing black helicopters and had the tin foil hats on.
  17. I will say Mike Pereira is a little more critical with the college games than NFL. He called out the ass clown Rig 12 Refs who made that BS call against Bama that cost us a Safety and probably the upset win. But yea, none of these retired Refs call out their own in the NFL games.
