  1. No. This is like the dumbest take Iv'e ever seen.
  2. I mean I like what Iv'e seen on tape and what he's done in practice but he's not a baller until he proves it in game action.
  3. Wrong. I said you can only get offended by words if you allow it. Words matter less than almost anything on the planet. I said that not all black people think the same way about this as you, which is also true. Can see you still haven't let this go so words obviously matter to you. I just think it's silly and trivial.
  4. I remember after this game that tool Trev Alberts said Texas wouldn't have won this game without Vince Young and I was like what fucking game were you watching? The defense held them to 7 points if I recall correctly.
  5. There's a really cool thing called message boards where people say stupid things and for free.
  6. I see what you are saying but I think you are assuming a lot. Lot's of older people really liked the Jamail family for one. Whether you view that as a compromise or not is on you. What should we call it? There were demands made, some were met and some weren't. That's negotiation and compromise. There's nothing wrong with that language. Your'e being too sensitive over nothing. I don't think people look at the players as SJW's just because they have had some unreasonable demands. Not sure how this is framed as hostile other than in your own head maybe.
  7. This is kind of a ridiculous perspective. No one had to give the players anything but administration chose to listen and compromise came out of it. The eyes of Texas was probably never negotiable in reality. But to act like that both sides didn't come together with adequate comprise is ridiculous. Everyone should be happy with the changes that were made. That's progress. I'm sure that's not the last we will hear about this issue but this is how negotiations work. This isn't the last time these players will have to have negotiations in life either.
  8. Dude don't feed this prick. He's obviously had his head shoved firmly up his own ass this entire thread.
  9. Na I'm not a fan of making people do something they don't want to. Say they win every game. Would you still feel the same way?
  10. Yea I stopped caring about the Heisman the year Vince got shafted. It was obvious to me then that awards are stupid. VY was clearly the best player in the country that season hands down. It made me smile when they offered it to him when Bush got it taken away after the sanctions and Vince just said "na ya'll can keep that."
  11. Exactly. Negotiations are just a part of almost every aspect of life. You have to learn that for progress to be made that you don't always get your way. Unfortunately too many people today think if you don't give into their demands then you are a terrible person especially when it comes to sensitive issues like these. Growing up is hard but overall I'm proud of the way the players and administration handled the situation.
  12. Yea its just tradition. What's special about it is subjective. That being said, I think you're correct that I don't think anyone should care if they go back to the locker room while the fans sing it. Hell personally, I wouldn't care if they gave everyone the middle finger while going back to the locker room if we win all the games.
  13. You mean like you just did? The people that comment on what he said are entitled their opinion too.
  14. Yea I mean he has every right to feel that way but I never heard about him having any beef with it when he was here. Maybe I missed something but I never expected everyone to be fully on board with it staying.
  15. Yea but to be fair what he is saying is there were a lot of people on here who were assuming how all the black players felt because there's this weird belief some have that all black people think the same way. He's just pointing out the hypocrisy of the pandering and virtue signaling by those clowns.
  16. Can't control what everyone does. I support him in his decision either way. Just glad the song didn't become a part of cancel culture for now.
  17. The only thing I have to say is thank God our players and students have more sense than a lot of the fucking idiots on this board. I'm sure this isn't the last we've heard of this forever but at least both sides have shown they can listen and have come to a compromise. Anyone who can't see that has their heads shoved firmly up their own ass. I support Sterns in not singing if that's what he chooses. I have no problem with that whatsoever. Just glad that it's not a required change for everyone else who believes the song is special. Once again, just because YOU feel that something is bad doesn't mean that everyone shares that opinion and should have to bow to your demands and I think they get that. Good on both sides for listening and coming to a compromise. Now let's put all this behind us for now and play some football. Hook Em.
  18. Honestly I could do without the star spangled banner too. Seems kind of weird that we play that at sporting events other than the olympics anyway. This is what I said when Kaepernick took the knee the first time and everyone lost their shit in ridiculous polarizing fashion. Just get rid of the anthem all together and you don't have these problems. I feel slightly different about the eyes of Texas because it's a school song that makes since to sing at our sporting events but Iv'e also come to the conclusion that if that's what it takes to stop all this nonsense that it's a small price to pay relatively speaking. I just don't think that will ben the end of it.
  19. That's because that's exactly what it is. Don't second guess yourself on this one.
  20. No dumbfuck. I was pointing out that earlier you kept calling me racist without a shred of evidence to support your baseless claim. I wasn't reacting to the photo at all.
  21. Then you haven't read very much of it. Especially go back in look at Brad in Atx's posts.
  22. Lol the discourse has obviously been reduced to this now. That is literally something a child would say.
