  1. Excuse me sir, Dustin Hopkins and the McKinney brothers (aggy, i know) would like a word. If you don’t think the McKinney brothers are good, just ask closetojumping.
  2. I remember Newton... I think they had an interesting running back named Darwin Barlow in the 2019 class. Pretty sure Barlow is at TCU right now. Looks like they’ve offered Gatson already and could have a built-in connection with him.
  3. So I read last night about Owens and it was surprising to see that our... shall we say ground game has gone from basically nothing to what seems like full speed ahead this quickly, albeit for a 2023. Looking to the 2022 class, are there any targets of ours in this class with an uncle that we could now legitimately have a shot at? I remember seeing somewhere on an aggy or OU board screenshot some poster accusing us of making a big move in the Perkins recruitment? I’m not sure about other names, but it’d be nice to know now and follow those recruiting outcomes.
  4. So... how are they taking the Evan Stewart news?
  5. Well, you won’t have to wait long. Just a few more minutes until Johnson commits.
  6. So I know I’m projecting a little bit here, but perhaps the argument being made to someone like Stewart is maybe that since he already has 1m+ followers on TikTok, the way he’ll probably grow his brand is less from football fan interactions on Twitter and more from just access to great content opportunities found in big cities with lots of potential collaborators. In my mind, the only place superior to Austin in terms of a blue blood football program plus a great city would potentially be the LA area? Austin has a pretty high concentration of social media influencers, and I think both TikTok (potentially) and Twitch (confirmed) are considering expanding their office support (and by extension opportunities for their content creators), but LA and California in general has an insane concentration of influencers and social media platform support. I think the only school this sort of pitch would work for is probably USC and it could potentially work for UCLA down the line. From my knowledge of his recruitment, it doesn’t seem like USC was a part of his thinking, but with Carrington moving there you never know? If it’s literally any other school pitching him this then I’m not sure it makes sense at all.
  7. They get much snow out there in SoCal? It’s supposed to snow on Feb 15th around when he’d be on campus. A snow photo-op in our white uniforms might pique his interest. Recruits seem to love the “icy-whites,” and I can’t imagine having actual snow and ice outside would do much to change that.
  8. So, since Winfield announced his commitment on Tuesday, January 12th and Blue announced his commitment on Tuesday, February 2nd, when are we thinking Murphy announces? How about Tuesday, February 16th?
  9. Personally, I think that mistake by Ramey was the best thing that could happen for his development down the line this season. This one is going to sting, and I’ve got a feeling he’s going to use this as fuel for the next time these teams meet and hopefully it’ll help him be even more locked in during crunch time come March.
  10. Thanks for the compliment, I dunno how many people would get it because I’m a bit of a surly young myself. Wow, Rondale Moore... another “what-if” scenario. I suppose that’s the point of bringing in Sark, though: to hedge a bet on a staff that we hope is competent at recruiting, retaining, and developing players. Did we ever really think that Dipshit Mehringer was going to teach our wide receivers something remotely of value? I really do hope CTJ is right on Wiggins. The evolution of TXHSFB and the popularity of 7-on-7 camps has helped wide receiver talent in Texas explode. The thought of a Texas staff using Devonta Smith as a recruiting pitch, having their pick of the litter, and then actually developing the studs that come in is almost too good to be true...
  11. Not to confuse the point here, but didn’t Eagles have a ridiculously low shuttle time in high school? It was 3.99 seconds I think which is an elite time for running backs, which makes it even more impressive that he did it as a WR at like 6’4” 215 lbs. Damn, I wonder what an actually competent offensive scheme could’ve done for the dude, I think he probably could’ve succeeded in the slot as well.
  12. Agreed. Don’t know how they missed that, that’s the kind of hit the rule was designed to avoid....
  13. The thought of Surly olds logging onto discord is more entertaining to me than this game.
  14. http:// SIAP but it looks like Tim Beck and Jason Washington will be out at a clinic in Scottsdale in May. We are really putting in work in Arizona.
  15. I guess I’m a shitty writer. I’ll stick to Biochemistry. I tried to get creative with poking fun at Brook and Pasadena and I suppose you extracted more vitriol than humor. I moved to Texas for the first time in my life the same month I started my freshman year at Lake, so the rivalry doesn’t mean everything to me or “mark me too hard”. Like I said here earlier, I dropped out of Lake after 2 years to go to TAMS so I’m not even an alum. I do try to get into Lake vs Brook when I can though for fun. The fight at a Whataburger following this past year’s edition was insane. Your prom is your prom man. If you had fun at Brook prom, that’s all that truly matters. Sorry if comparing you having fun at Brook prom to a Blinn student gazing at the aggy jizz jar at fish camp in awe sounded more angry than a joke. Guess I’ll have to be more nice next time. Otherwise I’ll have to take a vacation, which would mean I would have to eat my Cheerios all by myself. Oh, and you were right. ‘91-‘93. I forgot the 69-14 game. nice
  16. You went to Sam Rayburn and played football for the 1990-92 seasons. So you’re a Pasadena kid. It makes sense why you’re jealous of CCISD kids, especially Lake and Creek. Zoning’s a bitch, ain’t it? I have to say, though, I’m a bit disappointed you described a Brook prom as “awesome”. The only thing remotely close to awe-inspiring about Brook is the level of mass stupidity and ignorance that fills its hallways on a daily basis. I suppose I shouldn’t be all that surprised though, considering Rayburn isn’t even the best high school in Pasadena. Going to prom at Brook must have been amazing. Like a Blinn student sneaking into fish camp at Collie Station and getting to peek at the jizz jar.
  17. Sounds like something little brother Clear Brook would say...
  18. You’re all forgetting about the great Dustin Hopkins, a proud Clear Lake graduate and current placekicker for the Redskins Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
