  1. Fwiw, there were major programs sniffing around but he didn’t give them the time of day
  2. Simpson struggled. The WRs struggled too.
  3. Apparently Buchner was the best QB today at their scrimmage The defense looks good, the offense is a work in progress
  4. I'm not sure which thread we're supposed to talk Bama in, but it appears that while Bama might have been hoping that Simpson would take the job, he's struggled and hasn't done enough to win the job. They apparently gave true freshman Dylan Longergan (over Eli Holstein, surprisingly) some reps with the first team this week to see if he'd catch on, but it appears that it's trending towards Milroe winning the job, at least early in the season There's a decent chance we see a running game featuring a running QB to give them a +1 running constraint, with an RPO passing game tacked on to make it simple and hopefully give Milroe easy throws. Against our two deep quarters defense, it's unlikely they'd break many explosive plays, but with the +1 in the run game, they'd probably be able to get positive yardage and move the ball some, but what happens when they eventually run into negative plays or incompletes? How many long drives can they sustain? How many times can Milroe run it? This scenario is where Catalon is important. He's elite at triggering from depth in the run game. While Milroe is a good runner, I don't think he's a special one, and he was turnover prone last year I think this approach makes sense if Simpson and the freshmen aren't ready yet. Run Milroe and Buckner a lot early in the season to give your offense some floor until one of the others is ready to take over to give your offense some ceiling
  5. Give the bowl game a watch. Ewers is much better there.
  6. I wish I had more faith that Crystalball could get the job done. He's probably the only coach in the country who's a more pussy game manager than Jimbo
  7. I think he's pretty annoying on there, but yes he's a useful idiot for inverse betting
  8. Every national podcast I've listened to has had Texas winning the conference
  9. The best results will be from putting you two on ignore
  10. Can't sneak anything past this guy
  11. Hill getting immediate first team playing time as a passing situational sub package edge rusher while also learning off the ball stuff and subbing in with the backups in PK's hockey line shifts makes the most sense to me. You put him in a situation where he can be impactful right now while learning a tough position so he can take over there later in the year or next year
  12. I heard that portion. Apparently working on certain packages for him to play edge and that he's cross training. I assume it will be obvious passing downs? This has been the assumption for six months
  13. Given the QB reports coming out of Bama, I wonder if Arch would have started there vs Texas
  14. Nobody is beating out Majors this year Someone could beat out Majors next year Majors could move on to a different school if he sees the writing on the wall in the offseason. While Hutson is mentioned most often, there are others who'll also have a chance to compete there
  15. I think there's a good chance this doesn't happen by conference play
  16. I didn't realize A&M was so light on numbers at WR They have the three returning producers (Evan Stewart, Moose Muhammad, Ainias Smith), one guy getting hyped up (Noah Thomas), two true freshman (one enrolled early), a summer transfer from Rio Grande Valley , and a summer transfer from Kentucky who's a second year guy who didn't play his freshman year So eight scholarship guys, two of which are true freshmen, and two summer transfers who don't appear to be instant contributors
  17. In this situation, Watts likely as safety help over the top If he doesn't, Watts is likely playing off rather than pressing
  18. He was the youngest player in our class by like six months. Also he has really long arms, iirc
  19. Jake Johnson is talented but always injured
  20. Incredible half-ass effort on the sac bunt attempt by Maldonado probably cost us a run. Great veteran leadership there
  21. EPA on early down passes to Sanders/Mitchell/Sanders/Whitt should be considerably higher for us than running
