  1. Her literal quote about Obama was "why does he identify as black when his Dad was nowhere to be found?". That's just a shitty thing to say regardless of one's politics. But in a world where being an asshole is viewed as a virtue by some, I guess you can say, yeah, she was just embracing her heritage with that comment.
  2. But No CR, right? Steele was a anchor/Host. Kimes is an analyst. They have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Your comparison of the 2 is nonsensical.
  3. You're not paying attention. Tom Luginbil said they'd be 1-11 reputable media all over thought they wouldnt be shit. Theyre lack of depth will ultimately be their downfall but Deion is fucking coach regardless of the flash.
  4. Boom that's who i was thinking of. I thought it was Connor or Cole.
  5. Hmmm, I can only think of a handful of UT football players who majored in engineering over the last 20 years. Shit, UT athletes for that matter. I believe there's current freshman Olinemen majoring in engineering (cant remember who) and Bryan Pickeryl majored in some sort of engineering although i dont know how much his medical redshirt allowed that to be a possibility. Then there was Gabe Muoneke and Lamont Hill on the basketball team. Those are literally the only athletes in our 2 major sports who i can think of who majored in engineering over the last 25 to 30 years.
  6. I dont know how much this has been discussed wrt McKinley, but from the moment I heard that he wanted to major in Engineering (at first) and now computer science the difficulty of him actually getting into his preferred major at UT was a problem I've had lurking in the back of mind and it seemed weird that it wasnt being discussed. Say what you want, but he won't have anywhere near the problem getting into those departments at OU or A&M as he would have at UT and I cant help but wonder if this fact is playing a factor in his final decision.
  7. Yeah, I believe Baylor was Terry's first college job out of the high school ranks. He was the head coach for some small town high school in Texas and then took them to state. I dont remember where exactly. Richard Johnson Jr (Tre's Dad) only played at Baylor for 1 or 2 years though, so I'm not sure how big his father's alma mater aspect may play in Tre's recruitment.
  8. After the podcast with Matt Bruenig I came away feeling they were certain to come out on top in this whole imbroglio.
  9. Yep, Bobby's change in outlook is a lot of what I'm basing my optimism on. He's seen every Texas team up close and personal since the early 90s. So he's a good point of reference to gage this year's prospects on. Additionally, he's typically tempered in his prognostications and is usually anything but a sunshine pumper which is rare for a 995er. Before that list that @closetohumping put up there, Bobby was routinely saying he'd be happy with 9-3 for this season on their YouTube shows so I'm pleasantly surprised he's upped it to 10-2.
  10. The development of actual players on the roster is another key differentiator between Sark & Herman. Christian Jones, Keandre Coburn, Overshown, Jaylon Ford, & Jahdae Barron are just a few of the shining examples of players getting demonstrably better under this coaching staff. And while NIL and the transfer portal have obviously been pivotal for Sark his approach to recruiting is totally different from Herman. Sark doesn't settle for lower ranked recruits when their target commits to another school. You don't get to pounce on Kelvin Banks and Cam Williams when that coaching change happens unless you've not only maintained that relationship with them, but didn't fill their spot with a lower tier player. The latter being something Herman routinely did, particularly with Oline targets. Sark and staff simply don't quit and they don't settle for lesser talent.
  11. Yeah, highly ranked classes solely made up of 10 WRs & 8 safeties.
  12. One of the Top QB coaches in the league???? How Sway?? Top offensive mind? , yeah sure. Top play caller? Absolutely!! But top QB coach in the league. Exactly who has he coached up. He's a brilliant playcaller who makes it easy for a lesser QB to succeed, but I'm not exactly sure what proof you have of him being a top QB coach.
  13. Yeah I remember during Sirois' exodus tour he was on IJB sans Jake, and TC noted how the producers/board ops/etcs at 105.3 made 2 and 3 times what the comparable positions made at the Ticket. When TC was doing tickers he made the exact same amount (~25k) as what ticker guys in the mid to late 90s made and we're talking over a 20 year time span in between.
  14. I think this is his 2nd OV to Texas. Hopefully this bodes well.
  15. For this exact reason I don't expect Sark to name a starter next year until some time after fall camp. Maybe not even going into our first game next season.
  16. It was so predictable during the preceding period of time when NIL was theoretical but still viewed as a far fetched impracticality that I didnt understand why the movement for change wasnt more directed towards NIL rather than the nickel and diming of the transfer portal and other penny-ante nonsense that has left the sport in such disarray. Had they started with NIL first there'd be a much more reasonable transfer portal protocol than what we have now. People forget that the transfer portal was really just a carrot thrown out to further avoid the inevitable of players eventually getting money in some form.
  17. We would have had NIL been around.
  18. I believe Lewis and Tuohy are high school classmates from some high school in New Orleans. In fact, it may be the same high school that all of the Mannings went to. Not reading Liars Poker before I finished college is a life long regret of mine. I remember reading an interview with Lewis where he related how he wrote it as some sort of exhortatory tome on the ills of Wall Street, but after reading letters from fans of the book he realized it had the exact opposite effect on everyone who read it.
  19. I believe the conservatorship specified controlling the rights concerning his "life story". So I'm guessing it's not all encompassing like I imagine most conservatorships are.
  20. I think Herman is a better overall game manager than Sark, but his hubris and personality would've prevented him from ever being the recruiting juggernaut that Sark looks to be capable of and his stubbornness (and again hubris) led to some poor player evaluations especially in areas he considered himself as being an expert on (ie WR, OL, etc) Herman also seemed adverse to the chase when going after elite recruits deep into the cycle. Of course some could argue that Sark's penchant for doing that is more or less a byproduct of the NIL/portal environment and our move towards the SEC.
  21. Not to mention he was only there for 18 games total and dealt with the after effects of NCAA probation. .

  23. Thank you for saying this. The people who want Sark gone in the middle of the build after watching the clear and substantive roster changes he's made the last 2 years are children with a child-like need for gratification without enduring any sacrifice. I don't give a fuck what his record in the past was, but even if you do you're basically saying that his sole full season at USC and his 5 years spent turning around a down trodden Washington program are totally determinative of his capabilities. This guy came in here and within 3 offseasons has not only identified our chronic roster issues, but he's given us clear evidence that he's well on his way towards solving them and making them sustainable for the long term. Gone are the days of fictitious top 5 recruiting classes built on 5 safeties and 6 WRs. Now we have well rounded roster building. And his strength and conditioning program is demonstrably better than anything we've seen here in the last decade. Not only is it specified towards the needs of the individual players (Malik Agbo dropping 40lbs of bad weight, Maalik Muhammed gaining 13lbs and getting faster while doing so), but it's yielding immediate improvement. I havent seen this much across the board player development in the last 15 years. Yeah his game day coaching and overall feel for the game at hand needs improving, but given all the other areas he excels in I'm certain that will come or at the very least the talent will be so overwhelming that it wont matter in the end.
  24. JT Daniels agrees.
