  1. Bunchner entered the portal again---for lacrosse! He wants to be a lacrosse player. He was apparently one of the top lacrosse players in the country in HS as well as football.
  2. I see Texas is off the next 11 days, so he has some time.
  3. Yeah. It would be hard for him to stay. He has to be real busy at Nevada the next two weeks until signing day.
  4. I calculated a 6/6 model playoff from 1998-2023. Roughly it came out to 4 SEC teams, 3 Big 10 teams, 4 between the ACC/Big12 and Notre Dame and 1 other. Obviously the new lineups and schedules and move to 5/7 w/o a Pac would have an impact, but with that caveat, here's how the 2024 conference lineups fared over those 26 years: SEC 103 teams, 3.96 per year Big 10 88 teams, 3.38 per year ACC 49 teams, 1.88 per year Big 12 46 teams, 1.77 per year Notre Dame 9, 0.35 per year MWC 9, 0.35 per year 2 Pac 2, 0.08 per year AAC 2, 0.08 per year MAC 2, 0.08 per year CUSA 1, 0.04 per year Sun Belt 1, 0.04 per year
  5. We got the shaft in 2008. So I can't help feeling for FSU. The BCS/Committee has frequently done it to Southwest teams. Texas in 2008, Okie St. in 2011, TCU in 2014. Either Bama should have been left out, or they leave out Washington for Georgia.
  6. I don't know what they would have done. FSU looked really, really bad. So did Louisville. Plummer made Case McCoy look like an All-American.
  7. I think anyone who chants SEC-SEC-SEC after we join the conference should lose season ticket privileges.
  8. Quarters on NYD will be fine. its the semi-finals that are a question. Michigan gets great ratings for some reason.
  9. Well he actually picked it last night. Said he hoped it wasn't so, but expected it to be 1. UM, 2. UW, 3. UT, 4. AL
  10. That's what I was saying. SMU didn't have to buy it. Aggy did them the favor.
  11. Well according to Sagarin, while Liberty had the #133 schedule, SMU had #118.
  12. Why would anyone care if SMU got screwed? They can just buy some Trans Ams. Wait, that was aggy that bought the Trans Am for their player...
  13. Kind of the opposite. Figure skating fans think 13 guys in a smoked filled room should decide it.
  14. SOS per Sagarin Texas #4 Washington #5 Alabama #12 Michigan #56 FSU #61 Georgia #46 Ohio St. #36 Oregon #25 (can't list this without acknowledging Sagarin still has Oregon #2, Penn St. #5, Washington #9 and FSU #10)
  15. If you keep getting mulligans, you will start sinking shots. Saban's great but he's been really lucky, starting with Colt's injury.
  16. Well Phillips shouldn't have vetoed the 12 team playoff! We would have had one if Phillips, Warren and Kliavcoff didn't stop the expansion for a year.
  17. Well if his commissioner had supported a CFP expansion instead of an alliance with the Pac 12 and Big 10, we probably would have had a 12 team playoff this year.
  18. Leach gave up in the 4th and let his former coach run all over him. He then followed the screw job to Texas with his ballot in the coaches' poll I don't understand why so many Surly denizens loved that asshole.
  19. https://hayspost.com/posts/bb988434-c82e-43ad-b96b-49e12cd8379f Were Big 12 refs doing the counting for the Dr. Pepper competition?
  20. I guess that's why the guy who actually won the Dr. Pepper competition also got $100,000 even though the refs cheated him out of it! https://hayspost.com/posts/bb988434-c82e-43ad-b96b-49e12cd8379f
  21. Yeah. We couldn't believe the UL players running out of bounds in the 3rd and 4th quarters 2 yards short of a first down. Just NO effort. And I bet UL wished they had a Case McCoy or Tyrone Swoopes last night!
  22. Alabama was just hungrier. And it was only 27-24. UGA did have their top 2 receivers (and difference makers) limping on the field and their #3 receiver out as well as a starting offensive lineman. But UGA knows they are out. Kirby is just doing his coach speak. Its a game of inches. UGA had a FG bounce off an upright. UGA had a hand on a fumble, but Alabama managed to get in a grab it, leading to an Alabama FG. Alabama got credit for a catch that wasn't on a 4th and 4 that lead to an Alabama TD. If any of those 3 close things go the other way, its OT or UGA wins. I do think Kirby's offensive play calling after the first drive (where they walked down the field) was pretty weak. Alabama has been burned on deep balls this season and UGA almost never tried, despite two Alabama corners being out.
