  1. I definitely agree with this and have said something similar before. OL rankings by the sites are more useless than a treadmill or glass of water in Elko’s office. Much better to see who is recruiting the guy hard to determine quality of prospect. The services seem to recognize this and usually change rankings after the fact. Except Rivals, who are too lazy to even pay attention to what schools are recruiting prospects. The whole aggy 2023 class is a good example of this. Bisontis was ranked as a top 100 prospect, yet his OVs were to places like Michigan State, Rutgers, and A&M. Those are not top 100 prospect official visit spots.
  2. Yeah, I had seen this picture of Charles earlier, and I was really hoping Ferrari would go for the darker blue. Looks way better, IMO.
  3. Vasseur has already fixed so many things at Ferrari, if he adds Newey to the mix, then it really could bring in an era of Ferrari titles. The new regs will be very engine-dependent so Ferrari will have to nail that part of it, but if they do, look out. And also if this happens, Lewis has to go down as the best team chooser in the history of the sport. I don’t think anyone could even come close.
  4. Between him and Elko, those two really cover the archetypes of guys who went to A&M.
  5. TIL Charlie Strong posts on Surly under the handle LTTxfan, which actually explains a lot.
  6. My original post was mostly a joke. In all seriousness, I am inclined to give Terry a pass for last year if he can put together a cohesive team this year that meets expectations. Hunter being so terrible at PG and Mitchell being a zero on offense made things extremely difficult, though I do think Terry should’ve recognized those issues last offseason. But if we see another team that doesn’t quite fit and can’t put it together, like last year, then Terry needs to go.
  7. Ok… The guy’s been a DBs coach for like 18 years. He’s never been promoted or stayed anywhere more than a few years while being related to guys who have flown through the coaching ranks. But sure, recruiting one guy who panned out in 18 years is huge.
  8. Look out, boyz! With a roster this loaded, Terry might just hover around the top 25 all season and eke out a tourney win again this year!
  9. He’s not a good safeties coach, either. Moving around the problem doesn’t solve the problem.
  10. This is a weird guy to bring this up on. I don’t think Austin Jordan needs Sark’s input to figure out he’s not starting over Jahdae Barron next fall. He’s going into year 3 with no prospect of starting or even playing much. Not that surprising he would want to transfer somewhere for playing time. This is a symptom of having a top 5 roster. UGA and Bama have guys like this transfer out regularly. After 12 years of wandering the desert, We’re finally at the point where we’re no longer taking that guy from Bama or UGA and instead have our own leaving. So you’re saying we’re going into Year 4 of Joseph coaching CBs with a success on the field and massive NIL resources and he’s still struggling to recruit/develop legitimate outside CBs? Sounds like a guy who needs to go.
  11. Joseph would have to learn to coach a first position before he can learn a second.
  12. He’s a nickel/safety. Him playing outside CB probably wouldn’t go well. Same for Barron, but Barron would be better outside than Guilbeau if we had to pick.
  13. Huh? Denver gave up next to nothing for Wilson. He’s not going to change their plans at QB.
  14. Teams will only have about 20 guys graded as first rounders each year, so this is pretty standard.
  15. This is a really good and relevant point in the context of Arch Manning’s career plans. Thank you for your contribution.
  16. I think we all know how that will measure out.
  17. JFC, man. This does not apply to QBs at all. Good QBs regularly play into the late thirties these days, so rushing to the second contract doesn’t matter. If anything, it’s the opposite for QBs. They get rushed into playing in the NFL, so having an extra year of playing and developing in college helps them be ready to succeed and maximize their earnings.
  18. Unless these are your personal rankings, swap Pinex and McCarthy. McCarthy is largely expected to go top 10. Penix is end of 1st/early 2nd. Even if you zoom out to the whole first round, the hit rate for TE in the first round isn’t good relative to other positions. TE is also the position most closely correlated with an elite RAS score, like top 10 percentile and up. Bowers is small for the position, so he would’ve had to test off the charts to get near that number, and there’s probably a reason why he never tested for teams, even at his pro day. So I can see why teams in the top 10 have some pause. Having said all that, I would still take him top 10 and it may happen. I think he’ll go somewhere between 7 and 13.
  19. I mean, he was a huge part of why our secondary is questionable. He’s blown more coverages than anyone since he got here and doesn’t appear to have the mental ability/eyes to play Quarters. He was routinely blowing coverages on Quarters-beaters that require a DB to stay disciplined in their reads. He also wasn’t a guaranteed starter next year, so it hurts depth, but it’s not the end of the world, especially when you take into account opportunity cost of NIL money and a possible transfer addition between now and the Fall.
  20. You’ve said a lot of really stupid shit on this site, but this one might take the cake. And 20 minutes later, a new competitor has entered the ring!
  21. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the WRs left. Between Wingo, Cook, and all the transfers, somebody will get squeezed out of playing time, and it ain’t gonna be Wingo or Cook.
  22. Ehhh. The Mannings have been extremely patient with Arch, and I expect that will continue with his NFL decision. It’s far from a given Arch leaves after one year of starting, and Lacey seems to be aware of that.
