  1. This is a real gem. Surly just wouldnt be the same without satya’s myopic, irrational hysteria.
  2. It’s pretty crazy to think his transfer altered two CFP spots. We don’t make the CFP without him, and UGA probably makes it if he stays there.
  3. He’s got some of the best passing offenses in the country after him, but we have posters on here saying he’s not even worth a scholarship.
  4. It’s pretty wild how many things you got wrong in this post. For one, we base out of 11 personnel and ran that package a majority of our plays, so it’s not true he only designs plays for 2 WRs. You also said it was rare our 3rd target would get more than a single catch. Our 3rd WR averaged 4 catches per game and that was with an elite receiving TE who averaged 4 catches per game. So the targets and catches for our top 4 receiving options were very high. It’s not at all surprising that Sark can get 3-4 WRs to commit every year when his top 4 receiving options put up good numbers every single year. Waiting around for a year or two when cracking the rotation more or less guarantees you’ll put up good numbers and likely get drafted makes plenty of sense.
  5. And I hate you for getting this song stuck in my head for the next 24 hours. Gonna have to play the Cars 3 sound track for my kids on the way home just to get a less annoying Disney song stuck in my head.
  6. JFC man. Our WR room is weak next year. Rotating a bunch of guys would be a very stupid idea. We’re not talented from top to bottom at WR. There just aren’t 3 guys fans know will be good next year. Sark will use the offseason to determine the 3-4 best guys and give them the lion’s share of the snaps just like he has for two decades now.
  7. That would be good news. Could be great news if he really commits himself and makes a jump like Sweat and Coburn did the past two years. Still want Caldwell tho.
  8. -Ideally Gbenda would stay through Spring ball and only transfer to Nevada if he loses the starting job to Lefau. -Thompson’s getting processed and it’s easy to see why. Just watch that long ball to Polk from the CFP. -Watts moving to safety would be amazing. That could very well strengthen 2 positions in our secondary. Mukuba was recruited to play Star. Guilbeau has been bad whenever he plays. I think the staff knew they couldn’t have him as the starter next year. JJR is perfect for Star. I believe Bobby said JJR will start at Star, but he can also play safety.
  9. Yep. There were a good number of plays where Brooks or Watts were in decent position, but they were trailing. You can’t look back while trailing, and asking them to be in a position to look back while 1 on 1 with UW’s receivers would be completely unrealistic. Playing Quarters, especially at the college level, means your DBs won’t be able to turn and find the ball very often, because they don’t have safety help over the top. Penix made perfect throw after perfect throw to NFL WRs. Not much we could do about that part. Like you said, the real issue was coverage/alignment busts or getting beat by Grubbs before the snap.
  10. He’s not an elite run defender, but he holds up well at edge for his size. He’s very likely going to start at Buck (weak side edge who tends to drop into coverage more than Jack). If he proves to be an Ovie Oghufo-level liability in the run game, then he’ll be limited to pass rush specialist, but I doubt that. He had us, Bama, tOSU pushing extremely hard for him. Those 3 schools wouldn’t do that if they thought he couldn’t hold up at edge.
  11. People were also saying Brooks might be our best CB at this time last year, so Muhammad and Williams’ progress will be a key point to watch next year. Charlie and Tom both had very talented true freshman DBs flash and then they regressed the next year. Williams and Muhammad have to keep improving for our secondary to have a chance.
  12. Watts is what he is at this point. He has improved and developed since he got to Texas, but he’s more of a safety than a CB. He’s got inherent agility/quickness limitations that really show themselves against future NFL WRs. The coaches did a good job of making him work at boundary CB the last two years. He’s not a point against our DB coaching. I’m not convinced anybody could develop Crawford. He probably just doesn’t have it mentally to be a good DB. With that said, CB and S coaches are definitely the weak spot on the coaching staff, and I’d like to see at least one fo them replaced. I doubt that happens. The silver lining is we’re bringing in enough talent this year to remove the talent excuse and know for sure whether Gideon or Joseph can develop/coach their positions. My expectation is they can’t, but hopefully at least one of them will surprise us next year.
  13. Yes, you fucking muppet. If those are our only two losses, that is a guaranteed CFP appearance.
  14. Yeah. Watching the backup RBs have 2 back breaking fumbles and seeing Baxter’s lack of vision all game made me think this at least 10 times. We win that game if Brooks is healthy. Sucks for the team and sucks for him.
  15. Yep. Should’ve been a bullet back shoulder. Idk wtf Quinn was doing on those last 3 plays. His throws never even gave us a chance to win.
  16. All the MAC and FCS schools are absolutely quaking in their boots at the thought of the Elk having this many open scholarship spots.
  17. That’s incredible news. He is going to absolutely terrorize the Big 12 leftovers in that offense.
  18. Well, I do have trouble imaging Hamm making more than $20k per year so there’s a chance he’s right, but I doubt it. Also, Hamm is the perfect candidate to pull a Greenspoint and post a picture of his pool commission checks on Twitter.
  19. You sick bastard. Don’t be mad at Ian Boyd. Be mad at yourself for reading Ian Boyd.
  20. No. His comment about Elmo’s transition class only applies if they sign Bussey, McKinley, Evans, and Jernigan. Narrator: They won’t. The class will fall off a cliff in his metrics once that happens.
  21. I don’t know what’s funnier, taking a month to hire a total JAG like Jay Bateman as the DC or Elko making his entire staff be carryovers from Duke plus raiding one of the worst coaching staffs in all of college football. Oh, and hiring an equipment manager from Nebraska to be your TE coach because he’s buddies with the OC you supposedly hired but still appears to be working for KSU. This is honestly better than fiction.
