  1. That’s a lot of words to just say “I’m an ardent David Pierce supporter. I would never replace him unless someone promised me a sure thing so I can sleep at night without my safety blanket. “
  2. Never mentioned Saarloos. Negged for being a lying piece of shit. Keep carrying water for Pierce. Let’s see how it works out. So far, so good.
  3. You’re the guy campaigning for a lifetime contract for David Pierce.
  4. I’m looking forward to despising and mocking new teams and old teams. The problem with the fanbases in the SEC is that most of them too dumb to understand when you’re doing it. They covet fart jokes. I’ve traveled to these places. Anything above that gets lost. It’s fresh meat nonetheless. The onslaught of stupid on SECRant from the jump when you visit is unbelievable.
  5. I just picked up my 6 OU and 4 Michigan tickets. Sitting with Arkansas boosters at Fayetteville and do not plan to attend away ATM games ever again.
  6. Again, I cannot vouch for my BIL’s access, I just know that he’s a decent booster and has usually been right when we bullshit over text, but he says the background check/references/PI, whatever, could not recommend the guy for hire and there were a number of people who would have to override that had concerns about their liability in doing so. If that is true, the level of toxicity in Beard’s world at this point has to be off the charts. I don’t view Arkansas as an outlaw program and they have legitimate business folks involved with their oversight and donor base, but you know those fuckers want to win and look the other way.
  7. It sounds like he’s just being billfromlaketravis. Also, Cuchara isn’t texmex, is it? We used to work within walking distance of that place in Midtown right after it opened and before we sold our business. We excitedly went in for lunch at the new place after it opened a few times. I remember thinking “there’s no way this place makes it” because no one besides us was ever in there.
  8. “and that cannot continue” worked out well for the buggy whip and bookstore industries too.
  9. I don’t mind a chat, but I’m relatively introverted unless I know you. It’s fine. I had no UT gear on and it’s just odd that he went to the school question pretty quickly. What I was a plumber or carpenter and had no background or interest in college? You’re right in that I thought “there’s no way I’m running into a fucking aggie at a random hotel bar in Boston” but sure enough …
  10. I’m sitting at the bar in a hotel in Boston last night, minding my business with a drink and waiting for my wife to come down. Drunk guy sidles up in the chair next to me and orders a Sam Adams. Turns to me and introduces himself, so I do the same. He eventually introduced himself 3 times in a brief 5 minute conversation. He starts asking me questions about where I’m from, etc. Random bar conversations are not my thing but okay. I eventually say that I live in Texas, both Houston and Austin at different points, and he immediately says “you didn’t go to that school did ya?” I ask what he means. “The one in Austin.” I say, yeah, I went to Texas. It’s at that point that he pulls his top coat back to reveal that he’s wearing an ATM pullover. Then proceeds to tell me he’s from a family of longhorns and he’s the black sheep. I simply say “well, hey, not everyone can get in” in a joking manner. Guy then says “all of you guys are assholes”, grabs his unoriginal beer and stalks off to a table. These guys are insecure and humorless anywhere on the planet, and they’re always tripping over themselves to show it. It’s really weird.
  11. As a proud Pappasito’s alum, I still love it. They have kept their standards on quality for 41 years irrespective of location. Other places do things better and other styles might be preferred, but if I default to texmex, it’s Sito’s. My view is that damned near of the places named are all places I wouldn’t argue about going to for a meet-up.
  12. Okay, hit the fucking brakes, guys. Gross Tios and El Tiempo are nowhere near the same tier in terms of quality. You’re getting old and, even if well monied, incorporating costs into your view on the taste experience. Also, I work near the Galleria and the new El Tiempo down Westheimer is a great place to easily meet someone for lunch, in no small part because 90% of the tables and booths are unoccupied. I don’t know how that place stays open.
  13. I believe his father is the legendary pugilist, Carl “The Tooth” Williams.
  14. We do. We enjoy rooting against your athletic programs and witnessing the anguish of your fanbase with each of their failures. If you think we’d shy away from admitting such pettiness, you have not been paying attention to the depths of our shamelessness.
  15. I wish this guy good luck. He’s going to kill it at Lamar or Texas State or Texas Tech.
  16. We lost to BYU at home? Fucking absurd.
  17. It’s the other guy’s move. If he never follows up, that was it, just sweet and thoughtful ctj being polite and reasonable and that guy eventually realizing maybe he was wrong and tucking tail.
  18. Again, take this FWIW, but allegedly he’s not signing an agreement with a moral clause in it, so the board has to meet and approve the contract. Additionally the background check has already come back with multiple accounts involving heavy alcohol usage. I mean, they’ll hire him anyway, if any of that is even true. I want the moral clause thing to be true because that is the kind of college sports/SEC coaching villainy that I find highly entertaining. I’m not cheering on any addiction problems, to be clear. I’m enjoying the notion that Petrino probably required them to waive the morals clause too. Please let it be so.
  19. My BIL is a booster at Arkansas. He claims they’re getting Beard. I’m traveling and didn’t even realize Musselman took the USC job.
  20. Incorrect. The guys who signed and not on campus plus Bolden are part of the 89. Add Auburn and you’re at 90. If they add 3 guys from the portal, they need to lose 7.
  21. Cook has looked good and on track for plenty of playing time. Any of these guys can always go elsewhere, but if he sticks to it, he’s going to be a starter and a regular target.
  22. Every day and twice on Sunday and you know it.
