  1. You posted the wrong pic, doofus.
  2. Being a Title-ist looks like a miserable fucking life.
  3. I see two issues: 1) It’s just kind of retread feel to the hire for many of us. It’s also a position coaching role, as opposed to simply being an advisor. 2) Some people think that anyone over a certain age, I guess maybe 65?, is a worthless fucking drag on society. They either need to sit in their rocking chair, watching Matlock reruns while they eat their tv dinners, or they need to be taken out back and shot, leaving their carcasses to the coyotes and critters. I’m in group 1, but I agree with your sentiments.
  4. Booker and Membou are objectively worse than Banks in every way. Neither has better tape. If Banks is a Guard, he's a better Guard than either. Frankly, Booker looked like shit at times. Also, the idea that Campbell is 3x better on the board than Banks is dumb as fuck too. Campbell also doesn't have better film than Banks. Watching these idiots, and I know you dig Jeremiah but he does this every year, pick apart obvious takes over things like one inch in height is comical. Watching Kiper then rank Simmons above Banks as well is what I regard as evidence of dementia setting in for that well-coiffed but old bastard. Texas did win. Finished 3rd in the country and was a playoff semifinalist. I think you missed this while posting with your eyes rolled back inside your head on the Quinn Ewers thread for months at a time.
  5. I think I have Edwards in my early predicted list for this class. He's the kind of back that Sarkisian likes to have on the roster for utility work and STs. I assume they are able to land Cooper or the Bama guy and Edwards. That info on Stewart confirms that he's not coming to Texas. It's odd to me that Texas seems to take an early commitment every year that ultimately has no business being on the commitment list (QBs excluded). They're going to sign a tier above Stewart for all 3-4 WR slots.
  6. Seems like a hedge commitment for Texas. If they’re feeling like they’re going to close well on 3 guys higher on the board, I’m betting he doesn’t make his visit.
  7. Where was an attempt at policing in what I wrote? I commented on comments, which is literally the reason for this thread.
  8. I don't like the hire, personally. I like everything else this offseason, but the Akina hire is uninspiring. Here's hoping he's still got it, I guess.
  9. Ha. Right. We are caught in a maelstrom of overthinking this one. This shit is building up into a Cat 5, given the personalities involved. This is going to be overthought for another 25,000 words, I suspect.
  10. All of those teams crave the perception of “momentum” in the recruiting cycle. Those are all paid unofficial visits without some other guys being serious about the recruitment. Let’s see who gets the OVs. Almost. It’s not the offer, it’s the fact that ATM will pay for every demand ahead of an actual signing right now. -Pay a guy to unofficially visit and pay for his family? Sure -Pay for a commitment? Sure. -Pay for a visit? Sure. -Guarantee playing time? Sure. -Bad mouth your own depth chart? Sure -Pay a better number for a signing over Oregon, Texas, Ohio State or others? Uhh, maybe?
  11. The money had absolutely zero to do with this. There isn’t a donor out there begging for a random assistant hire. No they will not. Good lord. Texas has a ton of young recruiting support and Akina has all of the skins on the wall otherwise. I’m nowhere near 73, buddy. He’s the opposite. This is a bad take and you should feel bad.
  12. You saved yourself there at the end. There is no way that subject can be discussed without Chuckles being right in the middle of it. I think she would have been gone after this past fall but the ladies pulled out the conference title. She’s got to be hanging by a string.
  13. Yikes. I haven't followed Clark since she moved on to the WNBA and I don't even want to know what she's done to inspire hatred.
  14. I guess I've not kept up with Swoopes. What platform is she on in which you guys are seeing her behave so angrily, and about what?
  15. I guess we're all kind of just shrugging on this. I feel like Sarkisian has a great chance to upgrade here.
  16. Serious question - is Sheryl Swoopes actually rich?
  17. You should start a RB thread where you bawl all over the current depth chart and everyone can laugh at you as you do it.
  18. 1) If you’re going to feebly attempt to reply, have the spine to quote me. 2) Your first paragraph reads like performance art, but you’re a low IQ individual, so it can’t be that. Still, I’m impressed that you were able to say something offensive about a man and women in the same sentence. 3) You seem like you’re too dumb to understand this, but I’m in a charitable spirit so I’ll try to explain my prior post about Seven Win Steve. I was being self -deprecating. The opposite of patting myself on the back. 4) You are one of best examples of the Dunning Kruger effect to have ever posted on an Internet forum. You don’t know jack shit about virtually anything, ever, and yet you post your obvious stupidity with the absolute, naive certainty of a teenager.
  19. I rarely encounter him and it’s not been worth the effort. I assume he’s a Cloak Room slob of some sort, since he apparently posts plenty but I don’t see many of them. Almost like he’s on ignore anyway, I guess. I find it regrettable that I like this name and may steal it from you.
  20. Exactly. I wasn’t talking to you, dummy. I was talking at you, politely telling you to run along because the adults are having a discussion. Reggie Wilson is a mediocre name for the thread and has already been addressed multiple times.
  21. I understand Gerry’s position of being from Missouri as it pertains to Texas taking basketball seriously. That’s a legitimate position. That said, there are multiple reasons why Texas will take basketball very seriously with the right hire. It needs to be someone who energizes everyone - the admin, the fans and the money, as Beard was doing. The admin needs and wants men’s basketball to be top ten like every other sport besides women’s soccer. It’s a money sport. It’s high visibility and impacts the school’s brand. The money guys want to back a winner. They spared nothing for Beard. They’re not going to let a couple million dollars be the gap that prevents title contention. Know-nothings will now point to the Toppin “recruitment” as evidence otherwise. I’m too bored with that canard to do anything but be dismissive. The fans were coming when Beard was at Texas. They show up for WBB. They’ll show up for a men’s program that isn’t boring generally and just putrid, at times, to watch. Again, I don’t think the ceiling is $4.5M if there is a “right guy” that Del Conte hones in on. CDC will vet a candidate with a couple of the guys if he thinks they have a real insight to offer. Sarkisian doesn’t really ever seek non-peer or mentor counsel when it comes to staff. We can all think what we want about Ivey’s NBA coaching prospects, but he’s made it known he’d be very interested in the Texas coaching job. I do agree with everyone who says he fails to check key hiring boxes for CDC.
  22. Indiana is one of only a few states I’ve not visited, which doesn’t bother me. My little brother played in a world series tournament for 2 weeks in Lafayette once. When he came home, I asked him what Indiana was like. “Dude, it’s nothing in every direction for as far as you can see. “ Okay, then.
