I honestly laughed out loud reading this optimism from you guys and the $9.95ers regarding Kirk Johnson. That dude is made of glass. He’ll be down with a mysterious injury that sidelines him for the season within the next 2 weeks.

Gotcha. The question is, do they take Mookie as a slot/h-back and Ty as a running back, or only take one because they're pretty similar
Ha, yeah, fuck. No one knows, which you alluded to previously. The moving pieces are myriad and include coaching changes, attrition, new targets on the radar, and so on. I don’t see how they look at Cooper as anything but an ideal wild card that can play all over the place and just ignore him as a count towards TB, but that’s just one man’s opinion. If they land him, they should then just ignore him with the numbers and recruit slot and TB as otherwise necessary.

I've been wondering about this question. Not sure if anyone knows at this point, even the coaches. They do appear to be two of the five or six guys who are locks if we want them, along with Card, Garth, Dixon, and Dorbah.
At some point, they switched up and decided to take one this year and two next year at TB, barring a senior year discovery.

I've actually had enough alcohol today to really go in dry on Hamm, Daddy98, and the rest of those fucks. Daddy98 in particular has really said some shit lately that is just factually false and figuratively pisses me off. I'm going to keep drinking and just put it on paper how factually wrong those fuckstains are about everything.
Sweet Christ, sir. Lay off the sauce for an hour and get this done or don’t do it at all. When did you start drinking today? Breakfast? Do you fashion yourself Edgar Allen Poe or something? If you’re going toe to toe with Daddy98 and Hamm, you’re going to need at least 5% of your wits.

I swear there is a fucking Oscar Giles bat-phone at CTJ’s home.
I’ve said very little on him for virtually a month. I get tired of watching you guys lament then apologize for him, though. If you want to talk about him, then, fuck it, I’ll chime in when I feel like it. Did I bring the motherfucker up? No. I’ll do it with him, Mehringer, and Warehime in recruiting any time I feel like it when you guys can’t help yourselves. I despise the fact that any of those three guys are involved with our recruiting and I’m happy to have it come up, again, in the reports fed into Belmont by the interns.

Poor Alabama and Jalen Hurts. I hope it works out for both of these downtrodden, unrecognized, unpraised, and unlucky entities. I’m really cheering for both sides to have a happy ending.

This thread appears to have been Giles'd for the rest of the day. Much like the basketball board occasionally gets Derka'd.
It’s pretty simple. No one here would like to discuss Giles on a regular basis. If Giles wasn’t a fucking piece of shit when it comes to his recruiting responsibilities, he’d get mentioned about as often as Corby Meekins or Drayton and it would be innocuous. But that’s not what is happening. He’s lazy on the recruiting trail, and he hurts the program with his sloth. As compensation for that deficiency as fans, because people want to think they’re coaches are awesome and their HC as infallible as possible, a narrative gets spun and repeated about the coaching prowess that is outsized to the results.
Giles isn’t even a functional waterhead as a recruiter. He’s an okay coach. Overall, he’s a net deficit for the staff and when following recruiting as much as we all do, it gets hard to just ignore this guy’s fucktardery as often as it is thrown in our face.

Urban Meyer is a liar
Zach Smith is a liar.
Why should anyone believe a word either says at this point?
I don’t disagree, but I’m constantly irritated that the media and fans (anywhere, for any sport) let coaches stand in front of them and lie every day. We call it “coachspeak”, but what it is is fucking lying. In any other context, someone behaving the way we allow coaches to, when they’re talking in public, would be fired and/or ostracized. Guys like Meyer do it so often and habitually, and add to that his personal hubris and ego, and they’re perpetually at risk of telling the wrong lies when more is at risk. They’re untouchable and whatever they do is correct, so why would they ever give a shit?
The dumbest thing I have seen these last 12 months in sports is seeing Urban Meyer’s antics at B1G media day, and that includes watching Sam Ehlinger make decisions at QB.

11th and shepherd?
do they own the one on 610/yale that cut up their oak trees like they were crepe myrtles (not that crepe myrtles should be butchered, but lots of people do it every spring)
The only time in my life where I can say I got depressed in an unhealthy way and was ashamed of myself was about 4 years ago. I was starving and in a hurry and pulled into the 610/Yale Burger King. It was a simple order of a whopper with cheese, fries and a coke. I usually broke down and went to a BK about once a year for one reason or another. I knew I was partaking in a grim personal ritual.
That meal, however, was worse. It’s like they cooked the fries in depression. I felt like I was going to start sweating meat. My stomach legitimately hurt. I started to get really sad about random shit and things on my to do list. This was all almost immediate. I’ve never pondered heading to one sense and I consider it easily the worst meal of my life and that includes the time in high school when I was eating TCBY and my girlfriend told me she was pregnant.

Y’all do what you want. I think he’s a whiny bitch and don’t want to ever see him associated to Texas again. He was fucking poison on the team last year and he put himself over the program again a few weeks ago, in public. That shit has been screenshot and sent to every recruiting target we’re in on for the next 3 classes. Fuck that selfish shithead.
Some of you guys that have short memories and fungible loyalties should refocus your attention to the NFL and NBA. You may not be cut out for this little “the program is bigger than any player or coach” notion as a supporter for college teams.

So you think they’re underrating the talent, they all have us ranked, we’ll win 9+ wins, and yet it’s absurd we’re ranked. Makes perfect sense.
I realize that without explicitly stated paint-by-numbers logic, your slow-thinking ass won’t be able to piece it together, but most folks above a 3rd grade reading level have retained the concept of context clues. The context here for you, since you seem lost, is that Texas has sucked for 8 years and made the voters look foolish every time previously for putting us in the top 25. Now we’re ranked yet again without having done anything. Hence, it’s absurd.
I am not sure why you occasionally forget to just avoid me and show up to pull the bookshelf on top of yourself by weakly talking shit. It can’t be rewarding to you. I tend to ignore you because you’re just not very entertaining, humorous or informative, yet we are again because of you’re inability to keep the soft helmet on and stay safely within your assigned padded room.

okay with Texas being ranked but also would’ve been okay had we not been ranked.
It's absurd that we're ranked, but I'll take it. I've said all along I think we win 9+, even with the shit show of an offensive staff. That considered, it's legit to not have us ranked. It's been a weird thing in reading all of the preseason magazines as well. They don't really rank Texas at all in their unit rankings, and very few players get any pub in the same magazines, and then they'll have us ranked around #20 overall in their preseason rankings. It's weird. I think they're underrating the returning talent, but whatever.

Odds on Greg Davis coming out of retirement?

They're gonna hire Bob Stoops.
The optics would be atrocious and he's happy playing golf and doing jack shit.
Mack Brown is a clearer and better choice for the moment, if they go that direction. I'll offer he's damn near an obvious choice if they're worried about optics, which they have to be.

I'm not worried about Herman getting in trouble regarding this story for like 10 reasons, and anyone doing so is clueless.
That considered, this is why you don't hire and protect your bros, especially those who have problems keeping themselves from doing bad shit to women or enabling it. In that context, the hiring of Casey Horny is an indicator to me that Herman is arrogant enough to fall for the same kind of fucked up shit Meyer just did. I hope there's a cautionary tale here for the likes of Herman that people at the top heed in the future.

Well if urban is out .. no more buckeye pipeline to Tejas, correct?
The perfect fit for Ohio State in this circumstance if Meyer's done, and I think he is, would be to sign Mack Brown. He's got a clean resume with no hints of corruption, he's no older than Saban, he can recruit, he knows the big school culture well, and he's a CEO-type who will let the staff do work during the year. I'm honestly not kidding. Maybe others will mention Jim Grobe, I guess.
Beyond that, I woke up this morning with the recruiting landscape looking one way, and now this afternoon, it looks way different. Anyone who doesn't view this as great news for anyone competing with OSU for kids is being obstinate.
Mehringer buttfucked the recruitments of Higgins and Wilson by running his mouth about current players, but he wasn't the only one involved. Herman has been handling both lately. If Longhorn94 didn't commit seppuku in shame over his Wilson confidence, it would be interesting to hear updates on this as things unfold.

I don't know how to paste a whole thread, but your point is exactly my point. Every fan base has idiots, and OU certainly has their share that make me ashamed to be an alumni and fan. But let's not act like it's any different from any other fanbase in that regard.
You should try equivocating with a fanbase that isn't fundamentally head and shoulders simply better than yours from a moral fiber perspective. You fucking clowns self-select into the trash that your fanbase is. You mentioned a qualifier with being ashamed to be an alumni and fan. Let me help you out - you should just be ashamed. You have a sad, shitty degree from a university with a history of corruption, cheating, and cover-ups - and these are often bragging points from your end when brought to the surface. You chose to be a participant in a fanbase that has poo-poo'ed and excused one transgression against women after another. It's almost as though that is a core value for you fucking shit heels.
So fuck off with even the notion of thinking we're having a discussion of equals or anything close. You are shining our fucking shoes in the ranks of humanity and we don't want to hear your unintelligent, uninformed noise as though we're peers.

Rex Kramer mixes a combination of utter ignorance about the sport of football, condescension without reason, and a total lack of self-awareness. There’s no value in taking anything he posts seriously. I mean, he’s very serious, but he’s also clueless. Not worth the bullet.
