  1. Do you actually watch the football games that are played each week for other teams? Or just read the stats and numbers and depth charts? TCU is objectively awful on defense. They have no push from the front 7. Hodge is slow and ineffective unless you run right at him. The secondary has some players but do not function as a cohesive unit. I don't know what the advanced stats are saying right now, but if they're telling you that the defense is anything but hammered shit, they're worthless. Offensively, Morris is a below average P5 QB. Even referencing him as a concern is laughable nonsense. They have washouts at TB. Their interior OL is pure shit. Jared fucking Wiley is their best option at TE. Savion Williams is good at WR and the rest of the guys are mediocrities. We're splitting hairs and I don't care to debate it. The mere fact that we're discussing the premise is an indictment enough of how fucked we are when we are depending on Murphy behind center.
  2. No. Stop. He's had sciatica. If he can't scramble, at all, in a P5 football game as a QB, then don't fucking play him. Sorry for the back pain, but either get your shit together and take some meds and get out there, or just say you can't go. It's weird how well some guys can play the QB position when there is no threat of contact. The spring game tells us precisely dick about Maalik Murphy. People were saying to ignore that appearance since it occurred and have been largely ignored. The guy has rushed for -18 yards on one carry in two starts, I just looked it up. He's imagined pressure and thrown the ball both early and off of his back foot repeatedly in both games. He's playing like he's scared of contact and it is fucking things up. Either he needs to pull it together and be a grown ass man, or just say "thanks for the scholarship" and turn over his wings.
  3. Yeah, I didn't make anything up. I clicked on the activity button on his profile page and clicked quickly through 5-6 pages of his activity. Majority of it or a large plurality of it was CR. No one gives a fuck if you dipshits want to claim someone. Anyone spending even "27%" of their time in the Cloak Room, who spends big chunks of the rest of their time negging other posters, and then reciting terrible JAQing off behavior and "what about" takes when they venture to other forums is a cloak roomer. Now, you should probably get back to that mediocre graphic you're making for your boss' TPS report before they discover that you're doomscrolling in the snack room on your phone again.
  4. Sorry, man, but the game was put on tilt when Murphy made that stupid fucking throw early in the 4th quarter. He's fucking terrible in every aspect of being a P5 QB besides being a good teammate and being able to throw a good deep ball when he's not imagining pressure. He was the worst player on the field on Saturday for either team on either side of the ball. In short, he created the meltdown and deserves a ton of the blame for the game going in the direction it went. Sarkisian told people that Manning was going to play in the first half of BYU. He never liked the score and held him back. I wish he'd have played him because we are staring down the barrel of needing the guy to play this weekend if Ewers can't go. Murphy cannot be allowed to pull the same shit this weekend. If he goes into turnover machine mode, they need to let Manning get some snaps, post haste. You mentioned "zero run threat" for Murphy which is absolutely correct. I didn't look it up, but did the guy pick up a single first down on his own in either the BYU or KState game? I don't think he did. If that's the case, I can't even remember the last time a QB went two full games without picking up one first down due to breaking the pocket on a blown passing down.
  5. Both of these teams seem to have multiple personality disorder. I've seen Kentucky look really, really solid. I've also seen them look like hot garbage. Being at home will help, I guess. Leary isn't the same QB he was before all of the injuries. He's playing with a sore shoulder right now. I expect Dallas Turner to make every effort to cheap shot Leary and remove him from the equation. Milroe still sucks as a short to mid level passer. He throws a great deep ball. He's a great runner. I don't see Bama having solved their problems and weak spots on offense. I see an offense that hasn't played much competition on the defensive side of the ball. Stoops and Kentucky can play defense. They're going to work to contain and key off of Milroe. The Bama OL is pathetic, the TBs are pedestrian and the WRs and Dippre remain non-entities. Niblack is pretty damned good and that's about it. Bama is a better football team, but Kentucky pulling the upset wouldn't be completely stunning.
  6. No info here, just wanted to say that I will be blown away if Weigman returns next season. That would be one hell of a sales job because he's going to have a ton of options, with a lot of NIL, and some of those options will have proven OL coaches and OLs.
  7. So I’m reading this rube’s drunkstumble into this thread with his equivocations. I’m like “this is a new guy. geez. “ Then I see that he’s got plenty of posts and rep. I’ve never seen the handle. Then I checked his activity. Shockingly, he’s a Cloak Roomer who pops out of that shithole every now and then to post about the NBA and neg other posters on random sports threads. Fucking Cloak Room.
  8. I’m sorry, but was it known that these idiots were still running a bonfire each year? I had no idea and it blows my mind. https://texags.com/forums/5/topics/3404507/1#discussion
  9. I’ve been around him. I know people who have been around him plenty. You’re projecting what you hope is happening. It’s not. I am not saying it won’t get figured out, but if the program figures out “winnerness” with Seven Win Steve at the helm, that journey will be shared by everyone involved. Cheering for it.
  10. You can play a football game with broken ribs with the right amount of pain killers and uppers. Can’t do it at QB, but I am certain it can be done at other high contact positions.
  11. Hence the notion of context. This is fan fiction. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that Sarkisian is as intelligent or thoughtful as you. He’s just an average guy and he doesn’t possess a ton of impressive forethought.
  12. The original poster made a concise and elegant point that marries with both the issue at hand and similar issues and circumstances in other arenas. Your posts show ignorance measured against the point. 4th and 1 from midfield isn’t scoring position. Kicking the FG to go up by 20 near the end of the half adds greater value given the matchup than the expected value of going for it instead. Don’t worry though, with Sarkisian coming out and saying “I’d do it again and that is what the book says.” shows that he is a dumb dumb too when it comes understanding the value and limits of the “analytics” in the first place.
  13. TCU is a bad football team and they are worse with Chandler Morris. Hopefully he’s back. They may be the worst defensive team Texas plays all year. They have JAGs all over the field on both sides. If Ewers can play, Texas will roll. If Ewers can’t go, I still expect Texas to win, but it could be a slog. Maalik Murphy is bad in almost every facet at QB and he’s going to attempt to cost Texas every game he plays. He is scared of contact, has zero mobility, has terrible mechanics, has no accuracy, makes poor decisions and then makes those decisions slowly. LOL at morons on this site and elsewhere who talked him up after watching him go against walk-ons while knowing he could not be hit. Jesus.
  14. Moss had his knee blown up. Fisher downplayed it after the game and immediately said it wouldn’t require surgery. He said similar shit about Weigman’s injury.
  15. I know what he was referring to, but KSU didn’t choose to “go for two” and it’s clear he’s an idiot.
  16. Ha. The dude is a lawyer, so he must have something rolling around upstairs. I just enjoyed the absurdity and then his closing.
  17. This one was my favorite, he’s a champion, of something: The dumb fucks are the people who constantly post on this site about how “funny” it would be if ATM won a game or how “it makes sense” to hope OU wins a game somewhere. Those are always dumb fucking takes posted by dumb fucks. I enjoyed the Kubiak wife story though.
  18. Man, 1939 was a rough year. Aggies, Gehrig and ALS, Europe. Glad I wasn’t around.
  19. One of my kid’s baseball teams from the spring had a kid quit early on, not long after his dad showed up to a game high or drunk and hit on my wife and another woman in the stands and then left, leaving someone else to give the kid a ride home. About 3 months later in the text string on What’s App as the parents and coaches are discussing that evening’s playoff game uniforms and prep, this appears from nowhere: “Hey y’all good luck , no secret, William dropped the fuck out. The fight with him to get him to show up to only be bench warmer and basically not play "jumped the shark." on a last place team with coaches who are fucking lost. No worries, he will find something else like golf. Enjoy the ride with your kids growing up as this all goes too fast and usually ends rather abruptly. I’ve seen plenty of stars turn into bench warmers in high school with my older kids with a lot of drama with it. It will happen with some of the kids on this team I saw that. I’ve seen stars like my older daughter that screamed big time college athlete left broken on the field after horrific brutal knee injury never to be the same again. She was first of 4 girls within year to be broken with ACL/MCL injuries on team that once was ranked the top team in Texas. They all had their identities tied in sports and it was tough ending for each and for their parents as well. I’ve also seen yesterdays daisy pickers turn into stars. But for vast majority of kids it just ends with a loss or they just quit so make sure they are having fun along the way. La-di-da and such. Onward and upward. Whatever. ” This has to be a thing that happens to others too. I laughed for 10 minutes watching the sudden silence on the chain before someone removed him and his wife from it.
  20. Is “Campbell95” legit? I don’t lurk enough over there but people seem to be taking his posts seriously.
  21. I just read and reread this tweet for 30 seconds of my life thinking “is there something funny here? no. something new? no. Jesus, who posted this? motherfucker! spambi strikes again!” No reason to post this random tweet a day later. None.
  22. More good stuff from 247. I’ve been waiting for this kind of logic to take hold. They’re perfectly capable of taking the “we don’t need them durn 5 star prima donnas! just give us the 3 stars who want to be good ags and the program will shape’em!” and transposing that onto the coaching hire. “Send him out to Junction, boys! Toughen him up and he’ll be whipping those 3 stars into worldbeaters before we know it. Don’t pay him shit and he’ll be fine with it because he’ll love being an aggie coach!” Never-mind that ATM has beaten no one and that they were never any better in the Big 12 than they are now, “undefeated!” I am glad I exist in this reality because Texas A&M is undefeated in all of the alternate universes out there. They cannot help themselves - they own you if they’re not playing you.
  23. I am not sure you understand the premise in the first place and I am okay with that. Good call though! Regarding ATM, I’ve had them straight the whole way this season.
  24. I love the part where they unironically bemoan Texas beating “little sisters of the blind” at home. ATM is 4-1 at home this year and will finish 6-1. They’ve gotten to 4-1 with wins over New Mexico, Louisiana Monroe, Auburn and South Carolina. They’ll add 2 more wins by beating a terrible MSU team and Abilene FCS Christian. The one loss? To an Alabama team that Texas beat on the road. But UT has the easy schedule. I also like the idiot who thinks KSU went for 2 and the dipshit who thinks that Maalik Murphy is not only on the same planet as Quinn Ewers but actually better. They really can tell themselves whatever they have to in order to protect their tiny and fragile psyches.
  25. I responded to the post quoted below on the football board but I am posting here as well in the preemptive hopes that pussies needing ATM to win in order have their negative worldview validated can do it in private. You idiots were saying this about Miami, then Alabama, then Tennessee, then Ole Miss, and now it will be LSU. It’s uninformed handwringing. These imbeciles have played an easy schedule to get this far and they’ll probably be 7-4 heading into the LSU game. Whoop! The combined record of the teams they have beaten this year is 16-29. Auburn, at 5-4, is the “best” opponent they have beaten. Auburn got to 5 wins by pummeling the death row jaggernauts of UMass, Cal, Samford, Miss State and Vanderbilt. That’s a combined opp record of 17-30. Texas ATM has beaten no one of merit. Miss State sucks. ATM will beat them and call it yet another “statement game”. They’ll chest pound and then beat an FCS opponent and question the integrity of the CFP rankings without any shame or irony because, by gawd, they’re the best 7-4 team in the country! They will forget that they are 0-9 in their last 9 away games and that Death Valley at night is brutal. They’ll have people in the media predicting they’re hot and primed for an upset. You guys on this site will have followed them back up on the rollercoaster out of some sense of bizarre self-loathing, needing ATM to hurt you in order to feel whole. Then LSU will spank them in public and we will all point and laugh. Then the lot of you guys that do this shit will probably wait a few days before telling us why you’re worried and convinced that they’re going to roll their opponent in the Podunk Loser Bowl.
