  1. CSU would be favored over every ACC team not named Duke or UNC.
  2. T-Rank has it ACC #6 and Mountain West #7. The Mountain West was also ranked above the ACC at one point in Kenpom but not sure where it finished. I just find the NC State and Colorado State comparison to be hilarious. Colorado State just ran the 3rd best ACC team off the court in the first 4 game. The idea that NC State was playing vastly superior competition than CSU is complete fiction.
  3. Just some wild narratives after this game. @Hermanatoris the 3rd or 4th person that's tried to discredit CSU because of their conference. Do these people not know that the Mountain West was one of the best conferences in the country this year and arguably better than a couple power conferences?
  4. The Mountain West was probably a better conference than the ACC this year. I can tell you don't follow college basketball.
  5. Also, I think there is a benefit to playing in the first 4 game. It allows you to get rid of the nerves and establish a rhythm. Had we not had the pitiful start (which is expected in the 1st NCAA tournament game) it probably would have been a 20 point lead at the half. There are pros and cons to playing in the first 4.
  6. The funny thing is we aren't even giving RT some huge compliment here. We are just saying it was smart to force a bad 3 point shooting team to shoot 3s. Somehow, there are some people that can't even give RT this level of praise.
  7. Yeah, Tennessee is #147 in 3 point% and it's only that high because of Knecht. It's probably going to be the same gamplan as CSU. Run Knecht off the 3 point line (similar to Isaiah Stevens) but live with other guys shooting some 3s.
  8. CSU shot poorly because Texas forced them to shoot 3s which is their weakness. I don't know how this is a negative in the context of RT. It was a damn good defensive gameplan to keep CSU out of the paint (top 10 in 2P%) and force CSU to shoot 3s (#224 in 3P%).
  9. Seeing Tre Mitchell go out sad was again a beautiful sight.
  10. So Tre Mitchell ended up playing 5 years of college basketball for 3 teams and didn't win a single NCAA tournament game since he left the Texas team prior to the '22 tournament. At least his handler was paid in the process.
  11. He's not wrong but that's his fault. Maybe he should recruit more transfers and adapt.
  12. I think Texas also planned to play with more tempo but once they realized that CSU couldn't score in the half court it just made sense to make this a defensive slugfest. Limit possessions and no easy points in transition = win.
  13. I don't think it was from a lack of ball movement. Disu and Abmas just missed some shots they normally make.
  14. I'm really not sure why anyone is surprised by the Kentucky result. They're #115 in adjD and they play a lot of FR. This was a team built for an upset in round 1.
  15. is there a program that gets more unbelievable calls in their favor than Kansas basketball?
  16. Without McCullar, KU isn't very good. I would be pretty surprised if they beat Gonzaga even though it was a down year for them.
  17. Yeah if Kolek isn't fully healthy that Florida game is 50/50.
  18. There has to be some type of data out there that compares 3 point percentage in the regular season versus the first round of the NCAA tournament for each team. I bet it's much lower, on average. in the 1st round. This is why I've come to fade teams like BYU that are so reliant on the 3. For whatever reason, college teams can't shoot early in the tournament.
  19. I guess it's nerves/new environment but it really feels like teams that jack a lot of 3s are always prone to upsets in the first round. Tech currently 4/21 from 3.
  20. NC State lost 5 of 6 to end the regular season, then had to win 5 straight in the ACC tournament to even make the NCAA tournament, and now they have a path to the Sweet 16. College basketball for you. Sometimes getting hot at the right time is all that matters.
  21. Beard is a great coach but this is what he's done in the last 5 years. 9-9 in Big 12 and tournament cancelled. 9-8 in Big 12 and round of 32. 10-8 in Big 12 and round of 32. Choked his fiance and fired. 7-11 in the SEC and missed the tournament. If you looked at this resume and his name was Rodney Terry there would be people on this board losing their minds.
  22. We need 30+ from Weaver against Tennessee. 1) He needs to guard 1 of Zeigler or Vescovi 2) We need a guard that attacks the rim against Tennessee's ball pressure. As aggressively as they play you have to attack them off the dribble which is Weaver > Horton. 3) Tennessee struggles a good bit on the glass at times. Weaver is a pretty good offensive rebounder.
  23. I think they will put Mitchell on Knecht. Better length to disrupt him.
