  1. In what way are they running the same playbook as the USSR?
  2. I mean, you gotta assume the area is flooded with Kubs and Buks on both sides no? Again, it's more a moot point since the debris is clearly not from a missile, but an aircraft of some sort.
  3. While they're meant to dodge and be unpredictable in the the terminal phase, cruise missiles are definitely not impossible to take out. Both the Kalibr and Tomahawk are vulnerable to modern air defense. Anyway, I think the burning wreck is not a cruise missile, it's falling from way too high and with too much material mass to be a missile being downed. Beyond that it's hard to say, it could be anything from a large drone to a Tupolev strategic bomber. But most likely a fighter, imo.
  4. They travel at subsonic speeds, so yes, any method of anti-air can bring down a cruise missile if they have the proper guidance
  5. They might not have wanted to initially. The more Ukraine resists then the more Russia will throw at them
  6. Russia is way scarier on the defense than on the offense. Striking into Moscow would be incredibly difficult, hence the Cold part of the Cold War. There is hardly a scenario where US and Russia would meet in a conventional land war. Any serious conflict would necessitate endgame weapons and that's pretty much a no win scenario. Same for China, perhaps doubly so, which is why hypersonics are all the rage right now
  7. ??? The Antonov cargo craft are absolutely nothing like any western designs.
  8. Shock and awe was coined at the start of the initial Iraq invasion. US military doctrine was centered around show them how much boom boom we have. War is always messy, but this and that are apples to oranges comparisons. Munitions are also completely different here, and even 2003 strikes vs 2022 strikes won't look the same. This looks to outsiders as a very strong day 1 attack but so far it is nowhere near what it could be. Time will tell how force escalates
  9. When I was around that age I read a good bit of Asimov, Orwell, Bradbury, etc but many of those works have already been mentioned. I would like to suggest some history, in particular A Short History of the World, H.G. Wells. It's not a premier historical read by any means but it reads really well and I gained an appreciation for history and humankind as a progressing and evolving story, interlinked with knowledge and discovery. It can definitely feed a hunger to be part of what comes next
  10. As I am a cultured man of taste, I would have no qualms with Melanie Laurent gifs posted more often... Or Lea Seydoux, or Marion Cotillard. Yeah I might have a French actresses thing
  11. Anthony Cook egregiously holding St Brown every rep and still getting beat, etc. I've never been that high on Harris, so hopefully he's 100% here and getting exposed by a proper WR talent
  12. Ok? Bama is on the short list of schools that will be on top vs any other school in the equation of attracting good players and keeping who they want
  13. Players and position coaches joined at the hip. Welcome to the portal era. If Marion comes on board, Addison becomes most likely out of that whole list by far.
  14. The CT story is far from over. The drama will increase after transferring and either failing to win the job or better yet, failing to beat OU and Texas... Hope it's TCU
  15. TMac to Arizona... Fucking Coleman can't even get a foot in the door with the best WR in the Pacific and Mountain time zones.
