  6. Crystal Ball pick in for Texas to land Top100 defensive back Tom Loy (247 Sports) $$ " " Tom Loy: "There is a ton of optimism coming from Texas sources and there is a strong feeling that they have put themselves in a very good spot. Barring some misdirection behind the scenes, things look good for Texas right now." Jordan Scruggs: "Michigan was seen as the team to beat when the Tampa native decommitted from the Tigers, but it appears the Longhorns may have pulled ahead. And with no more visits scheduled before the Early Signing Period, Texas may have had the last word. I like UT to pull this one off, and am placing Crystal Ball in favor of the Longhorns at a confidence level of six."
  7. (Williams is a 2026) ON THE CB, FROM COLLIN KENNEDY (OU 247) "But the current feedback gives the impression it's Texas in prime position with the in-state safety. Williams has a strong relationship with safeties coach Blake Gideon, a teammate of his and a Longhorns commit in Caleb Chester, plus several others around the program in Austin. From the sounds of it, there's not much momentum here as far as the Sooners' standing. Williams hasn't been back to Norman in months and he's been able to get on Texas' campus a couple times this season. There are a few other moving pieces behind the scenes that might lead to Texas ultimately locking this recruitment down. Given the current read of the situation plus an awareness of what might happen, it feels justified to enter this new prediction."

  14. Texas still alive in race for Texas A&M commit Kelshaun Johnson Horns247 caught up with four-star wide receiver Kelshaun Johnson following his return visit to the Forty Acres on Saturday. Hank South "He (Chris Jackson) said whenever I make that move, if I make that move, he's one phone call away." "Is Johnson still solid with the Aggies?" "For right now, yeah," he said.

  18. On Michael Terry, - For some time now, the assessment has been that Oregon and Nebraska are our main competition. - On Monday, Jordan Scruggs (Horns 247) said Terry didn't make it to Oregon (yay!), and reiterated his Texas pick: "One of the rare times the San Antonio native isn't the highest ranked prospect on the list, it goes to show you the amount of talent the Longhorns are welcoming to campus on Saturday. After not making it to Oregon this past weekend for the Ducks' home win over Ohio State, Michael Terry III is expected back in Austin this weekend for Texas' biggest home game of the year. After seeing Nebraska to open the season, this'll be Terry's second time back on campus this season alone after stopping by the Forty Acres for the UTSA game earlier in the fall. A December timeline continues to be what the five-star tells folks, however Horns247 is expecting a commitment to take place sometime before the month of December. Nebraska and Oregon have been the main competition to the burnt orange going back to the summer, but at this point in the recruitment I'd be pretty shocked if the pick doesn't end up being the Longhorns. I'm not expecting anything as of right now, but it would not shock me if a big Texas win over Georgia on Saturday speeds up the timeline of the nation's No. 1 athlete." Then, Mike Schaefer (Huskers 247) said this yesterday: "Michael Terry III — This five-star wide receiver is looking to make a December decision and he's been in Lincoln once already for a game as he was in town for the Colorado game. There's a chance he could double back later this season. Texas is the primary competition for Nebraska and the Longhorns, who look like the best team in the country right now, are the expected landing spot. Still the Huskers have sold Terry and his family on the idea that Nebraska is putting together a program designed to get talented players to the NFL, built around Matt Rhule's experience. Still it's beginning to feel a bit like a long shot." :-)))
