  2. Already done.
  3. New Bike Day came this past Saturday.
  4. Meemaw is my mom's name for my son lol
  5. While I don't follow baseball nearly as much as football, I have to admit that I didn't make the connection between the two until now (CDC and Schloss both at TCU). I get it.
  6. I’m sure they met at the Waffle House in college station. Or the Dixie chicken.
  7. Would love to hear your recommendations.
  8. Just the standard rim set. I'm going to upgrade wheels after market. I have a Wahoo Kickr Core v5 that I got off FB marketplace that was barely used. Pairs nicely with a Zwift subscription.
  9. Question for you. Depending on road conditions, what's the best all around tire that you typically go with? I've seen the Continental Grand Prix 4-Season recommended a lot. Do you have a good tire recommendation?
  10. Quintana Roo X-PR. Base model with some slight upgrades (wheels, power meter on left crank). I'm really looking forward to it. I rode the road bike this morning on my indoor trainer and it felt like I was cheating on my wife lol
  11. Interesting. Good luck! I bit the bullet and bought a tri bike. I don't see me not continuing this for the foreseeable future and it's better to invest in it now. My wife surprised me for Father's Day. It was pretty cool. I'm heading to get fitted this Saturday.
  12. I'll see you there. We're heading out July 13th. In laws rented two condos north of Lahaina.
  13. 100%. Setting a good example for my 8 year old is my why. Get outside, move your body, do hard shit, and learn that you will fail at some point. It's overcoming that failure that you can translate not to exercise, but to everything in your life if you have the willpower to keep pushing and keep going.
  14. It's fun to push myself to new limits and do things that I never thought I could do. Six years ago, I was 315 pounds, depressed and had kinda lost my own sense of self. Now I'm 180 lbs, lean, have run marathons, and love to see how far I can push myself. Looking back, I'm extremely proud of the progress that I've made. Am I fast? By all means, no. Am I doing something that I never dreamed I could do? By all means, yes. It's a journey for me, not a sprint. If I put in the work, I will be successful. No one else can do it for me, which is why I love running and triathlon as a sport. @Clintonaldo is probably at the point where he can judge his past performances to his current training and say "I've been in this situation before, this is how I overcame it last time" but this is all new territory for me. How will I react when shit hits the fan? Time will tell!
  15. You forgot the banana.
  16. Thank you very much! First one is always the toughest. One thing that I was extremely pissed at myself for forgetting was my tri belt to pin my bib onto for the run. I figured it was one of those things that all triathlons gave you and just left mine at the house, not thinking I'd need it. I ended up just pinning the bib onto a pair of running shorts and throwing those on when I finished the bike. Definitely won't be forgetting that for Waco. Bike pump was taken though but I agree, it's a whole lot of shit you have to plan out, which I enjoy. If you do Waco this year, please let me know!
  17. It went pretty well actually, all things considered: 41 minute swim (slowwww), 1.25 hour bike, 50 minute 5k. Total 2:55 which is a lot better than I could have hoped for considering this was my first Olympic and second tri event. Last lap of the bike, the sun came out and it was just sweltering, so humid. First mile of the run was a 7:45 and I had to slow down because I knew I couldn’t sustain that speed through the whole 10k. I’ll be in the pool a lot this summer. I also plan on getting a tri bike for Waco in October. Definitely learned a lot about nutrition while on the bike this event. It was incredibly fun and I’m pretty happy with the experience! Thanks for asking!
  18. My dad got this stuff prescribed to him and he's been on it for a few months now. He was about 300 lbs before and is now around 275. He's 73 with high BP, type 2 diabetes, etc. He lives about 4 hours away so I only see him about once every 3 weeks or so and I can tell it's working. He has more energy, eats less (when I see him), but still doesn't exercise. For some reason, he's embarrassed about it and hasn't officially told me he's on it (my mom told me he's on it). No real side effects other than some pain at the site of injections.
