  1. He's part of the recruiting message board hive mind that sees everything through that lens with years of moldy buildup in his brain. He's also incredibly annoying. He's the type of guy that thought Brian Kelly hire would fail because of "cultural fit" before the guy even coached a game.
  2. That's why Jimbo rallied the "NIL" troops to keep Max Johnson for another season Oooh boy. That's even better. Jimbo and Petrino rubbing each other the wrong way while yo-yo-ing Weigman and Max Johnson. I'm sure the fanbase will be patient.
  3. I think they're in for a rude awakening. He's a good prospect, but the ride is going to be up and down. I watched the LSU game, and I saw his WR Muhammad make more contested catches than the UT WRs did all year. Also, I rewatched the UT vs Washington Highlights, and holy shit there was a lot of meat left on the bone in the passing game. Drops, drops, drops. We're going to be so much better if Quinn and the WRs are just a little more efficienct.
  4. Brett Yormark: "We want to own our target demographic. Adults with young kids."
  5. Whoa Whoa Whoa. That's speculation. I'm just not comfortable looking into the future.
  6. We should probably freeze this thread until the end of the season and then all agree to come back and discuss in a reasonable manner when we have all the information. What is everyone doing on December 20th? Maybe around 3pm central?
  7. This is every recruiting post on every site that I've read for the past 20 years.
  8. Holy shit, this explains so much. We need to get better so I can enjoy more 4th quarter victory beers.
  9. Very exciting development. This year is going to be tough for the paysites. With our national focus, I think there are going to be a lot of recruitments that surprise us.
  10. Didn't he get popped right around the time Charlie was looking to add him to the staff? Jeff Traylor is great, so all's well that ends well.
  11. Someone should tell him he's going to need to get a promotion soon if he wants to keep playing us. Maguire strikes me as Chris Beard. He has us in his crosshairs because it benefits him and ingratiates him to his fanbase. But he's also smart enough to take our head coaching job at the drop of a hat if it were ever offered.
  12. I'm shocked that website has bugs. It seems so elegant.
  13. I know this isn't the place, but I don't want to bump his thread and freak everyone out. Did Derek Williams senior highlights ever get posted anywhere. I've never been able to find them on Hudl. It definitely adds to the mystique.
  14. Brilliant. I always assumed AI would come for lawyers before it came for the artists and the performers. Seems like boring writing would be the first victim.
  15. But then who wheels the AI onto set to tell David Caruso to say his lines?
  16. While setting your cynicism aside, I don't think this strike has anything to do with studios not wanting to pay humans on the 10 blockbuster franchises they produce each year. Want to talk about a drop in the bucket? Those movies are formulaic by design, so the studios are getting exactly what they want for a global audience. Thank God Tom Cruise has enough weight to throw around at Paramount.
  17. It'll be interesting to see how the DGA and SAG negotiations go. Those will put a lot of pressure on both sides if they're able to work things out.
  18. I do feel like one thing that is lost in this is the concept of skilled labor. Writing, directing, acting, editing are actually very difficult things to be good at. The people striking are some of the top talent in the world. It's easy to diminish their value if you're not aware how movies, tv, etc. are made. This is not a case where a Chatbot or 25 year old influencer can just step in and fill the void.
  19. The showrunner on my current show is holding the line and not coming in even though the majority of his duties at this point are "producing." Sound mixes, VFX review, etc. I think if others in Hollywood follow suit, that will help because it will actually stall shows even if they have scripts.
  20. Sounds like this summer has an impressive slate of blockbusters. I have a vested interest in all of this, but I'm optimistic that better options will help the box office. Here's hoping.
  21. Oh man, I can't wait for the Manning Family SEC media hype machine in a couple of years. It's going to drive everyone crazy.
  22. Rare panic hire from your AD. Just glad you guys didn't engage Matt Rhule more.
