  1. I think you're overstimating OU's OL and running game. I also think you're understimating the pressure OU's QB counter scheme put on defenses with Kyler. And you're understimating the benefit of having Hollywood Brown standing at the LOS, ready to go from 0-60 the moment the ball is flipped to him in the flat. This is Riley's worst offense at OU--and it's not close. No idea whether the D is any better or not. Sure didn't look like it against an outmatched UH team that has since repeatedly shit the bed. Hurts is and will always be a threat to beat us with his legs, because he can get the hard yards that Kyler/Baker would never try for. But this offense is significantly less lethal than any other OU offense of the past four-ish years.
  2. Gif analysis of me when LTtxFan doesn't get the joke:
  3. I find it more effective to turn my head and cough when reading this thread. But you do you.
  4. Gif analyses are for douchefucks.
  5. Proving, once again, that narrative writing is effective.
  6. Machinator, if you become a mod on OB, I'm going to come over there and infect you with malware right now.
  7. Good times. I remember Kenyatta Watson's being interminable, too, where all those Grayson guys were committing and the local news anchor looked exactly like Woody from Toy Story.
  8. I remember following DCG in recruiting and watching his commitment on a NOLA nightly news broadcast, where he was preceded by segments about a bunch of gruesome murders, shootings, and stabbings.
  9. They appear fine so far.
  10. Pack it up, boys. Bolero88 has spoken.
  11. Honestly, the thing I'm most hopeful for Jake Smith is that he has a similar physical development to Duvernay. Duvernay's always been thickly-built, but if Smith can bulk up to where he can dish out punishment like Duvernay (without sacrificing speed), he's going to be a terror, because his body control is so much better than Duvernay's is/was at the same point in time.
  12. Not a word.
  13. Turns out that our cornerbacks are really good at being in the right place but are really bad at making a play on the ball. So Epps' lack of physicality or ability to use his body to screen DBs didn't show up as an issue in practice. Turns out we were learning more about our CBs than we were about Epps.
  14. EVEN MORE wrinkles, then, when he gets here in 2021--because he'll have fully mastered the Air Raid by then.
  15. I'm excited for some of the Air Raid wrinkles Shane brings back to Austin when he GAs for Herman next year.
  16. If there's one position in the offense that has shown itself to be the easiest spot to generate solid production out of, it's the slot receiver position. From RHM to LJH to Duvernay and Smith, the H is the easiest place for this scheme to find explosive plays.
  17. I agree that Z is probably the easiest spot to "fill," but it might be the hardest spot to get solid production out of. Hell, Eagles already has 4 TDs and almost 300 receiving yards there, already this year, where Duvernay had 4 TDs and 500 receiving yards in ALL of 2018. Eagles has been a revelation at Z. We should leave him there.
  18. To me, this is the only actually interesting response to this abortion of a discussion. I have a visceral objection to moving Eagles away from Z. He's been a revelation there and is getting better every week. Why would you move him? Especially since his skill set doesn't appear to lend itself well to X. I hope they redshirt Lewis and Washington and let those two duke it out for X next year. Loved Lewis's run after catch against Rice.
  19. This was annoying earlier. But now it's in neg territory. You're ranking Smith behind Whittington, who appeared in a total of about 10 snaps? Based on fucking what? While Smith has scored several touchdowns where he fucking ran past people.
  20. A white slot receiver named Shipley? I'll believe it when I see it.
  21. Damn that's good shit, though.
  22. This might be an unpopular opinion, but if Morris gets canned, I would be strongly in favor of Herman hiring him as an offensive coach/offensive analyst. I seem to remember some rumblings during Herman's UH days that they didn't care for each other, though, so maybe that would be a no-go.
  23. The right side was great. But the left side was worse than that time Marcus Hutchins was our starting LT.
