  1. Will find it. 189.4 today. Got to 180 and decided that was too skinny so stopped doing cardio and started eating chips and ice cream to get to and maintain the 190.
  2. Whoever said all our offers should CC the other Georgia 5 star DL guy was right.
  3. Uber all the way.
  4. Jobs report revised upwards from last month (12k and that number was nonsense low bc of strikes and hurricanes) and best expectations by 45k. and yet- MBS are up a little bit. no idea why. Will be interested to read analysis on reports unless someone here can tell me what the deal is right now. At airport and not super plugged in.
  5. Is that a hard and fast no way on 7 figs to a high school recruit- or do you see the appetite to make that kind of offer to the uncommitted GA DT. Seems like if we are ever going to do it a position of desperate need, where we need bodies, where it could make the difference between having the #1 recruiting class and not, getting that toe hold into that area and making GA worse would be the perfect scenario to break that barrier that we've been unwilling to do so in the past.
  6. I'm not selling anyone on Conner getting drafted. I asked specifically "do yall think he gets drafted?", said "if he sneaks in" in the post you quoted and have him and Lole listed as "coin flips to get drafted, but definitely gone" and guessed 1 of the 2 get taken. Maybe it's zero or maybe it's both of them or maybe 1 and 1. He's had a pretty good senior year based upon expectations going in and has improved a lot. Is it enough to get drafted? I have no idea. But it's on the table I believe. Maybe not and I'm an idiot. My biggest overarching point on being bullish on guys getting drafted, and this proved out last year with Whitt and Robinson and the corner, is that good teams that finish in the top 5 have more guys taken than you might otherwise think due to a Halo effect, "culture", this guys a winner and other assorted stuff that becomes a tie breaker for guys at the ass end of the draft. Look at all the shitty Texas teams that guys like Poona Ford ended up going undrafted that should have been (roach is another) and compare that to the beneift of the doubt we got last time around.
  7. Not out. Banged up. Will be listed as probable or doubtful today on injury report I bet tonight.
  8. Some guys it hurts when you miss on them. Some guys exhibit such dipshittery in their decision making process you just sort of say “phew, dodged a bullet on that one”. this cycle the guys that qualify for the latter for me are Zion, Hilson and the fat Bellville kid that looks like a muffin on toothpicks. If that tackle stays with the Oklahoma freak show I will put him in that category as well.
  9. The On Texas Football guys were basically telling everyone DJ Campbell is gone- get ready for it during signing day coverage this morning. All 5 OL getting drafted in the same year would be pretty cool of that happens and Hayden Connor sneaks in.
  10. I was shouting this during the offseason. My dogs just looked at me curiously and my wife ignored me. Now every time we punt the ball I yell and throw things at them. if sark wasn’t a slap dick he’d just fix his dumb mistake by not having to punt the rest of the year.
  11. I check in around once a quarter on this thread and skim for about 2 minutes before I have to stop myself because I’m not capable of reading nonsense and laughing at it, I want to apply logic and reason and demonstrate that the stupid stuff being said is stupid. I’m not made for interacting with aggy. The stupid burns and bothers me too much.
  12. Is anyone else laughing at the idea of Zion Williams signing with LSU, their class unraveling and rumors of a massive portal exodus, all after multiple shitty seasons in a row? Or is that just me? Not our grapes, Gerry was high on him for a long time as a junior and I was always pretty meh. Signing Justice Terry instead would be a nice consolation package.
  13. Yeah who doesn’t want to be a big fish at an irrelevant midwestern backwater and go 5-7 or 7-5 every year while playing for a psycho?
  14. Glad you got something to bitch about with a 1/2/3 class and a sec title game appearance the same week. Was going to be a tough week for you but you fought through. Respect.
  15. So I had a loss for us dropping us to 6 behind ND, but I think we might stay 5th. That means we get 12 and 4 which are auto qualifiers and won’t be SEC teams. Helps avoid conferences playing each other early. Texas v Big 12 PSU v Bama ND v Indiana Tn v Ohio state that would all make sense.
  16. This is dumb. The results this week say something about the overall strength of schedule for teams that aren’t playing. if Clemson destroys SMU that makes USCe win last weekend better. If Texas destroys Georgia that diminishes Bama’s best win. It’s more data and it should all be weighed, even if those teams aren’t playing. Dumb dumb dumb.
  17. So, the Buckeyes get a fucking home game. Awesome. also- if the sec ends up with 3 teams (they won’t I bet it’s 4) because SMU loses, the reason it will be is because they absolutely horsefucked USCe in the game with LSU. Maybe they shouldn’t orchestrate ref fuckery and let the games play themselves out.
  18. Like I said- I'm out on this for now. Signing day eve wasn't probably the best time for it. I'm happy for the class we are about to sign, whatever it ends up being. Thanks again for the work you put into making it happen.
  19. It’s only the most topical big picture issue in 2024 recruiting- sources and amounts of money in NIL and what that looks like. this might not be the thread for it. I’m out.
  20. NFL makes big profits. Baseball and basketball operates at break even if you believe the ownership. Either way you aren’t even talking about operating revenue that a 100B guy would notice in those two sports. or, put another way- people are doing it and the group of people that are doing it grows larger every day. So, it obviously makes sense to the right person. if I was worth 1B I would go take over the AD at Sam or something and crowd source Surly to run the entire program for shits and giggles. Or, give Sark 10M, get Terry fired, drop 5M there and spread another 5M around the non revenue sports just for my own amusement. I would guess I wouldn’t be the only one here that would find this to be the best use of 2% of their net worth any particular year.
  21. Cool. I responded to someone talking generally about billionaires and you made it specific. That woman is hot but I’m sure he has had hotter or could have had hotter if he wanted. Him being sugar daddy to her, Michigan or anything else he does is personalized version of fun for him. I’m sure he has his reasons. my general point is this- being involved in NIL at a high level is a toy for someone with a huge net worth. It has obvious fun benefits for the right person. It’s not a surprise that this is a toy lots of people want to associate with if they have the money, and the cost of that toy is less than ownership of a pro franchise with less work associated with it. I’m just grateful we have people willing to do the heavy lifting on one side, and that y’all helped set up a conduit for crowd funding to do work on another level.
  22. I edited my post while you were responding- if you note I was talking about Billionaires in general when I said 10 figure net worth (or 11 or 12) so for some people it would be affordability (1B is enough to drop gobs of money on being defacto owner of a college team but not enough to buy an NFL team), as well as it being a major bitch to actually buy an NFL team, when it comes up for sale, and then get approved by the other owners. As far as the hassle of owning an NFL team you become the public face of a city's aspirations and hopes and dreams, and you can't buy your way into a title because it's a salary cap league. Maybe he doesn't want the notoriety. Maybe he doesn't want to be motherfucked by everyone in town when his team goes 5-12. Maybe a bunch of different reasons. The fact of the matter is though- he doesn't own an NFL team and he is playing sugar daddy to an NCAA team so I'm sure he has his reasons for that- even if they might not be obvious to either of us. Maybe he's like Saban and he's more interested in playing a rigged game? I have no idea. But it's something I've speculated off line would happen for a couple years now- Billionaires that can't get into the professional sports ownership world becoming "defacto" owners of collegiate programs.
  23. Sure. If there are any for sale. And if the owners decide they want to let him into the club. You have on average a sale of a team every what 3rd year? And the commissioner basically hand picks who they want to be the buyer that buys the team, and that's based upon how well they think he will fit in, follow directions and not rock the boat. So, other than that- sure- it's exactly the same.
