  1. like i said in my last post about this, my skepticism isn’t about wemby and his talents, it’s about the specific game dynamics that would be required for this to happen. the sheer number of possessions needed to get both 10 blocks and 10 steals a game is astronomical. it would have to be a close, competitive game that goes into multiple overtimes (i’m thinking 3-4 minimum) where wemby plays like 55+ minutes. so, how many times will that happen in his career? and will he be able to pull off this extraordinary feat on one of the 1-2 (if that many) nights where that happens? i would genuinely love for some statistics and probabilities professor to come up with a percentage that estimates the probability of this happening. my guess is that they would find ghat wemby has a <1% chance of making it happen.
  2. this is all just proof that we’re living in a simulation, and that wemby is god’s create-a-player.
  3. motown- you just got back from being banned for harassing me. 😂 you’re making my point for me man. everything you claim about yourself sits in stark contrast to reality. just stick to posting about hoops, temper the inane and smarmy ad hominem comments, and everything will be fine.
  4. actually tennessee would be a pretty terrible matchup as well, but is anyone here actually going to say they’d rather face uconn in round two over a rick barnes coached team? edit: tennessee, marquette, unc, and KU is who i’m seeing as projected 2 seeds now. bring on any one of those teams if it means avoiding uconn.
  5. there’s been way more posts on the subject than just the one where i finally decided to respond. it’s been brought up countless times that we weren’t fully healthy the first time around, that we’ve gotten better, that we were in that game, and that a rematch might well go in our favor with disu now on the team. it’s been intermittently brought up since november, and it’s just nonsense. we do not want to face uconn. marquette, tennessee, and purdue project to be the other 2 seeds as of today, and i’d rather play any of those teams than uconn. uconn is probably the no.1 team that i *don’t* want to see in round two.
  6. i don’t know if you guys have seen the post that’s a whole two posts above mine, or the countless posts on this board throughout the season about how improved we are and how uconn would be an ideal rematch, but they’re there.
  7. i’ve heard it repeated throughout the season that we really weren’t healthy and didn’t play that well and that were a lot better now than we were when we played uconn the first time, and that uconn would be a desirable rematch/second round opponent. i dunno if you guys all live in a bubble or what, but uconn also isn’t the same team they were back in november. besides which, that game wasn’t particularly close or competitive in the first place. win probability during our game with uconn: they scored first and the game was never even tied after that. btw, uconn also was not fully healthy, and was giving big minutes to guys who now play small roles for them. here’s our box score vs their latest box score: vs ball, johnson, and diarra were playing big minutes against us, and are now playing much smaller roles. stephon castle, the likely big east freshman of the year, didn’t even play. then there’s uconn’s form vs our form: vs uconn will kick the fucking dog shit out of us in a rematch. we do not want to play them, and frankly, it’s kind of asinine that all of this “we want uconn!!!” talk has gone unchecked all year. we are maybe marginally better now than we were then, but on any given night we might also be way, way worse than we were then. uconn doesn’t have that issue. they are a legit title contender who brings it every single night. if we meet them in the second round they will make us long for our early season moral victory, as the rematch will be a bloodbath. so please- stop it with all of this talk that says that we’re just soooo much better than we were on that night, and that uconn is ripe for the picking. they aren’t. they’ll kill us. stop asking for a rematch.
  8. i think it was picks 4 and 5. i drafted tucker > acuna and then traded tucker after his slow start, or, right before he got like 85% of his season statistics. and i somehow still won lol. fantasy baseball. feels good to be back!
  9. it has. i just set a draft date and time but that’s not the real date/time, i’ll set that up once we’ve all agreed on a draft date. also, i’ll submit that we should add another pitching position to our rosters. 3 P, 2 RP, 2 SP feels one P too light to me.
  10. i don’t think it’s possible outside of something like a 5 OT, 212-208 type of game. forcing 20 TO’s in a single game as an individual is as close to impossible as it gets. never mind that you have to get 10 of each. there’s just not enough possessions in a game for it to happen.
  11. i can think of one two seed i’d like to play.
  12. he also claims that he doesn’t care one way or another about chris beard, even though he posts more about beard than anyone else here, and won’t stop making inane “tourney dynamo!” and “saint chris!” posts all over the board. he would be a lot more tolerable if he would just own his own shit instead of constantly behaving one way and then categorically denying that he posts that way in the very next breath.
  13. order up: 14- @NOMAAA 13- @castolon 12- @henrygandorf 11- @UTPhil2006 10- @NorthLoop 9- @beer 8- @John Cougar Melonballer 7- @BigOrange1 6- @APMP 5- @Fawesome 4- @Planet Houston 3- @shadow_operative 2- @Capn81 1- @huge good luck mofos
  14. apparently half the league is no longer filling out their lineups. awesome. not to mention that the two guys in this league who happen to be my homeboys have failed to fill out their lineups every single time they’ve played my closest competition. ugh.
  15. i don’t know what his overall percentages are but from the line he is famously un-clutch. he also used to shoot the technical FTs for cleveland back when he was running that organization, and he would regularly miss them while better shooters just stood their and watched.
  16. already. we’ll knock the draft order this evening. 👌🏻
  17. at his peak, he’s definitely up there; for his career, he’s definitely up there; and yet i still can’t find myself to rank him ahead of someone like larry bird. name your top 10, 15, 20 perimeter players of all time. now rank them in terms of who you would want shooting a three for the win, an 18 footer for the win, two FTs for the win. lebron james will be near the bottom of your list every time. he’s one of the worst shooting all time great perimeter players, and he’s got to be just about the very worst at shooting clutch FTs among the all time great perimeter players. so yeah, it’s weird. individually at his peak he has an argument for the best ever, and career-wise he has a great argument for top 5 ever. and yet he’s never been a great shooter, particularly from the line during clutch time. he’s also repeatedly deferred to lesser teammates in big moments in a way that mj, larry, kd, steph, etc never would. he’s very enigmatic to me.
  18. ready to knock out this draft order, i just need a list of owners.
  19. i too thought that that wasn’t a thing.
