  1. they got more scrutiny than their male peers? michael jordan, barry bonds, tiger woods, etc? i don’t think so.
  2. battle shot 88% from the line on 6.7 FTA/gm. FTA/gm is arguably RT’s biggest weakness throughout his HC career. i’d welcome a player who gets to the line that much and shoots at that clip.
  3. chris beard is the ja morant of college basketball coaches. nobody doubts his talent or his abilities. it’s 100% about keeping his crazy ass in line. he’s going to get every chance in the world from schools everywhere because they all know how good he is and what his ceiling looks like. they don’t care that he hasn’t “won” a lot lately because it has nothing to do with his abilities as a coach. the last time he was coaching at a real program he had Texas looking like this year’s U of H team. schools/programs know this, and they’re going to come after him until he fucks up so badly that he’s a total non-starter.
  4. UALR > UNLV > TTU > UT aside from the unlv “stint”, that’s just the typical ascendancy of a great coach. then he got arrested, lost his job, and had to start over. now: ole miss > arkansas it sounds more wild in that tweet than it does when you actually look at why he’s “accepted” so many jobs. that said it’s still pretty wild lol.
  5. this is the thread where we people who are critical of RT and his hiring come to discuss that. “fire x” is just a standard thread title that is used every single time the fans start to question if the HC (of any sport) is the right guy for the job. that doesn’t mean that every post in the thread has to be about firing the coach. this thread is being used for its intended purpose, which again, is obviously going to including dialogue about his being hired in the first place. you might be tired of that discussion, but this is the place for it. we’re not going to start new threads for everything critical about RT that isn’t advocating for him to be fired.
  6. he jumoed around a lot because he was on his way up. texas was going to be a permanent landing spot until he blew it. if he once again finds a place where he can “be a monday night program” then i don’t see him leaving that place very quickly.
  7. read your posts where you interact with me; read your posts where you interact with everyone else; notice the difference. you are always angry and combative towards me. it’s a fact, and it’s a beating. you should seriously just put me on ignore.
  8. yeah. you continue to be combative and insulting. why would anyone, anywhere want to engage in a discussion with someone who is literally always insulting, combative, and angry? it’s the exact behavior that you whine about me supposedly displaying. like i said, it’s a beating.
  9. it depends on how quickly he wins big there. if he does there what Oats has done at Alabama then there’s no reason for him to leave for a “better” job, knowing that all of the better jobs also have more scrutiny, more booster BS, ridiculous expectations, etc. he can easily win big at Arkansas, and they like basketball enough to show up and give him the type of crowds he covets. i could defintely see him staying there awhile.
  10. every time. you are literally incapable of being civil. you’re always raging. and you have zero self awareness. everything you whine about when it comes to me is merely projection. it’s truly a beating.
  11. comparing jordan to lebron is terms of ring a whiny-ass baby about every single foul call they don’t get is…dumb. lebron is on the mount rushmore of whining, while MJ is nowhere near the conversation of biggest whiners.
  12. you get tired of this thread being used for its intended purpose yet you think the real question is “should we fire him now?” when literally no one is even talking about that? you’re doing the exact thing that you’re complaining about, just on the other end of the spectrum.
  13. you have to have an outstanding regular season to get to the college football playoffs. in this analogy todd orlando took a top national title contender and dropped them out of the polls by the middle of conference play. maybe he then leads us to a 50-point win in the Texas Bowl, but that isn’t going to get him the job.
  14. there is no analogous situation with football, because everything that RT did to “earn” the job came in the postseason. the football equivalent of RT replacing beard would see Texas go from a top 3 team in the polls with the most dominant defense in the country through three weeks (with Texas 3-0), only to see Texas finish 7-4 with one of the lesser defenses in the conference and a berth in the Texas Bowl. bye bye RT. this is arguably the most frustrating thing about this- 99% of college basketball fans only care about the tourney, which makes up about 1% of the job of a cbb HC- assuming they even make it. on march 9th, 2023 everyone here was on board with the fact that RT wasn’t good enough and that we’d be hiring someone else to take over. three weeks later all of those same people all now believe that we HAVE to hire him, that he “deserves” it, that he’s “earned” it, all because chris beard’s between team played better during their last few weeks together as a team. the irony here is that you have to actually make the tourney for it to matter, and next year when we’re turning down an NIT bid and watching all of the coaches we could have had actually participating in the tourney, i wonder if those fans will still be feeling the same way about RT.
  15. reminder of what it takes for a regular ole all star player to get a tech:
