  1. I no longer have to be as alert becuase what was going to be about 2 to 2.5 hours in Heathrow (I am booked on two separate bookings, and while sometimes BA will check you through, not always), so might have had to get through customs/immagration and back through security quickly (Thank God for flying business), now, I have an extra 2 hours and BA did link my two records. So...we shall see. Can be a bit groggy.
  2. Actually, I was not. Was going to try and get some shut eye, but since my flight is leaving at 6:50 tonight vs. 8:10 last night, yeah.
  3. I will be drinking champagne on my flight in celebration.
  4. Don't think so. JFK was largely not affected. I think BA had a fuck up on their side.
  5. It got crazy looking out of my windows around 1:30 or 2 here in Sutton Place. It is MUCH better looking outside now.
  6. My flight out of JFK was cancelled. My flight was the ONLY BA flight to London cancelled (one other was cancelled yesterday...the 9:30 PM one), so I tend to think it is just BA fuckup rather than weather. It is supposed to continue until at least tonight. There is a weather system sitting there pushing all this down. The fires are at least 500 miles away from NYC.
  7. Starting out in a stellar manner. My flight was cancelled. Fucking BA.
  8. So, massive wildfires in Nova Scotia and Quebec = poor air quality in NYC that out it in the top 10 worst cities for air quality briefly. NYC is rarely in the top 3000 cities for worst air quality. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2023/06/06/us/canada-wildfires-smoke-air-quality
  9. For shit air quality. Cross posted from Tell me about NYC. This is down at street level. The street lights on my street are hazy. The smoke smell is incredibly strong. These fires are hundreds of miles from here. It's nuts.
  10. So the skies in NYC are absolutely horrific. Blame Canada!
  11. I want to be on the Manhattan jury. Book deal, here I come!
  12. NYC usually lights up buildings the last week of June for Pride (the big pride celebrations in the city are really the last weekend in June, but there are events all month). I, alas, will be in Stockholm for Midsummer this year. Pride in NYC is an absolute blast. Fuck the haters.
  13. Glad you enjoyed it. I thought it was outstanding! I just pulled the trigger on a ticket to Sweeny Todd for Saturday night. And I got a ticket for Prima Facie for Thursday, June 29 (so once I am back in town).
  14. In June, 4 days in Toledo, 7 days in Madrid. London for work (does not count, but I do have fun on the evenings) Stockholm for Midsummer I do not travel in July and August when kids are out of school. I hold down the fort at work and let my colleagues who have kids take vacation. That being said, I might have to head to London again for work, which will mean a weekend or two somehwhere else, and might head up to Maine for work this summer (we have an office in Portsmouth, NH, and Maine is right there). In September, will go somewhere as I am headed back across the pond for work, but not sure where just yet. Thinking maybe Montenegro, a Greek Island, Cyprus, or maybe hit Vienna and Budapest. Not making any plans until later this summer.
  15. I love when racists and bigots tell you out loud who they are. Such horrible people.
  16. And I think they are in the fucking around stage. Cannot wait until they get to the find out stage.
  17. I hope this dumb cunt keeps on this... Abortion is a loser for the GQP. She is so fucking dumb.
  18. I really enjoyed the play. Sean Hayes was amazing.
