  1. Flying tonight. I have not had a lot of time to dedicate to posting on my site in a long time (or even talking about my last two weekends in Paris). Last post on the site was in December. I do have two I have been working on, but work has been nuts and there is just too much to do! Anyways, leaving tonight for London (Again) and Oxford. Thanks @RamjetFDO for the suggestions. My friend booked somewhere for dinner on Saturday night (Arbequina) which came highly recommended. The race is on Sunday at 3 PM, so we will head out that way after breakfast. The after race act is Rudimental, which I have never heard of. Monday will be our exploring day as on Tuesday, we have a 9 AM train back to London so we can catch the Heathrow Express and get back to the states.
  2. I still have not been to the Met Costume Institute exhibit yet. Since I leave for London tonight, I think that is how I am going to spend the AM of Bastille Day (Sunday I get back). Then afterwards, lunch down at Libertine. The only things I have tickets to in July are the Foo Fighters on July 19 in Brooklyn and Oh Mary! on July 25. Nothing else planned once I get back, so hoping to do some neighborhood exploring. I love doing that...pick a neighborhood and just walk the streets and see what is there. I have lived here for 5 years this time around, and I feel like I am constantly discovering things about the city.
  3. Headed to London again tonight. This is for work, but will be there for the 4th of July and the Election. Not a lot on tap. Land tomorrow around 9:35 AM then will head into the hotel. Staying at the St. Ermin hotel (I always stay there). Sunday, I am going to head to the National Gallery to see the Last Carvaggio. Then meeting up with my friend and colleague (she lands from Dallas at about 12:45 PM) to try and catch the end of the Austrian Grand Prix. Thinking we might hit the Audley Public House, wander through Mayfair, then have 6:30 PM reservations at the Devonshire. After that, it is a week of work, but we are hitting up The Barbary, Manthan, Kinkally, and Kurisu Omakase. Nothing planned for Friday yet, and Sunday, we have a 3:20 train to Oxford, so will be meeting up for lunch somewhere. We have three nights in Oxford, with Sunday being spent at the British Grand Prix.
  4. You sure are preoccupied with balls. Did you like it when they t-bagged you during your party and play days?
  5. The lemons in the amalfi coast are absolutely amazing. Definitely do not sleep on wine from Campania. Some absolutely fantastic offerings. Love that you can get outstanding wine for 10-12 a bottle, and that is on the expensive side. The local, rotgut stuff, they serve with peaches inside. It is outstanding. Love that part of Italy.
  6. Which terminal are you flying into? I think it is different terminal by terminal. I last flew into Terminal 8 at the end of April, and you just walk outside. Still a shitshow, but it is becuase JFK is fucking busy.
  7. I know. Me too.
  8. They did.
  9. I am sorry, but the people of Texas are fucking idiots.
  10. RIP. We lost a good one today.
  11. Neg for that. Fuck you.
  12. Seriously? He is already at home. This is old news. Also, I have less of a problem with Commander given the bullshit that has come out about super Trumpy secret service agents.
  13. Do a boat trip for the day out of Amalfi. https://www.amalfiseaservice.com/ Mimmo is the captain and he is fantastic. When we went in June 2018, it was 600 Euros for the day. It is a 12M boat. In September 2021, it was only 500 Euros for the day, but honestly 500-700 Euros for a day is outstanding. We loved our days with Mimmo. Check out Tucci's Searching for Italy season 1. He does some time on the Amalfi Coast, and there are some gems in there. If I go back, those are on my list.
  14. So, the line to get into Tatiana was dumb, so we did not go. We are going to try and get reservations for a Friday night in July. Uncle Vanya was decent, and I am glad I saw it before it closed. I thought the acting was fantastic. The story was very meh. Not my favorite Chekov.
  15. Some sad news over the weekend. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/16/obituaries/james-kent-dead.html From my own personal experience, and everything out there about him, he was a stand up human being. This one hits close to home as he was a year younger than me (hearing it was cardiac arrest), and both Overstory and Crown Shy are two of my favorites in the city.
  16. Glen Powell....I like him a lot.
  17. Saw Stereophonic tonight. It's really good. I'm not a huge Fleetwood Mac fan, but I found the play highly entertaining. I have a personal connection as well as I know one of the producers. Tomorrow night, planning on grabbing sushi with a friend. Saturday night is dinner at Margot in Brooklyn for a collab with Au Passage in Paris. Sunday AM, it's the Met for Member Morning Hours and the CI exhibit before heading home to get things ready to move my bed (bought a new one to be delivered on Thursday). Next week, people from out of town in town for work, so Monday and Tuesday will be jam packed. Wednesday evening, I might hit up Lincoln Center for Monet x Change and Sapphira Cristal (Drag Race winners AND classically trained musicians) doing their thing to kick off the Lincoln Center summer concerts. Thursday, I get a new bed. Friday, my friend and I are hitting Lincoln Center around 4 to try and snag a walk in spot at Tatiana for dinner. We have tickets to Uncle Vanya, then we plan to hit up the Empire rooftop and relive the OG Gossip Girl (I love this for us!). Thankfully, the weekend is laid back and easy, then Tuesday, I am off and have an Alexander McQueen trunk show, after which they are hosting a cocktail fete at Overstory. Then, I'm laying low until I head back to London at the end of the month for work and Formula 1 at Silverstone.
  18. So, does this mean 34 time convicted felon Donald J. Trump cannot be on the ballot in Texas?
  19. I spent the last two New Year's Eve at that Olive Garden in Times Square. It is actually a whole lot of fun, and endless salad and breadsticks are not bad. I should call my friend and one random day for lunch we should do that for lunch...with Rose. Cause it is summer.
